I know, I know, "But Jeff" you may ask, "what does Hudson's Bay have to do with toys in general and lego in particular?" Before today I'd have asked much the same, but a funny thing happened the last few weeks. As I am wont to do, I was out for a midday work break stroll through ye olde PATH system in downtown Toronto which sometimes takes me through the bowels of the flagship Bay store. Walking past the luggage area a couple of weeks ago I was shocked, shocked I tell you, to discover a sizeable amount of retail wall space completely empty with nothing but white shelves. What could this be I asked, wondering if Saks was just getting on with the inevitable and devouring th…

  2. Just dropped into the local Walmart on the way home yesterday & noticed they had clearance tags on several Ninjago & Chima Lego sets (moved to an end cap) some of the savings were a whopping 86 cents below reg. on the tag! wow! I suppose maybe this was just a placeholder for something for the weekend???

http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/en-ca/march-break/lego/march-brick-break/master-builder?ref=dotw-week-47 Wow, that's a really crappy offer. I'm not impressed. They went from having the occasional deal to downright sweet-f-all for deals at Chapters/Indigo.

Got an email this morning, 20% off all month long on select Lego in store and online: Movie, SuperHeroes, Chima, City, SW, Duplo and minifigs. Not HOT but worth it if you want to use up any Plum Pts, have a gift card or stack a 10%-15% off promo code with this promo. I'll be keeping a look out for a couple sets in mind...use up my $200 gift card. Seems like March-May are busy 'buying' months with promo's...got the minifig promo with Lego.ca in March...than 2x vip in April...May 4th promo Hope to see some decent TRU and Amazon.ca deals scattered next few months too. Happy shopping.

Indigo has the goblin king battle set at 40% off. Selling for $77 Seems like a good deal as set is recently retired Also any set at regular price is also %15 off. Use 15offweekends code

I can't for the life of me find the thread about whether a set is a good deal or not...so anyway, I started one in the Canada section. Found: Monster Fighters 9463 The Werewolf - $16.24 + 12% tax (reg $24.99) Monster Fighters 9462 The Mummy - $9.74 + 12% tax (reg $14.99) Should I pick these up? I am not interested in building these sets and am looking purely for investing purposes.

I haven't posted in a while, and the forum's activity is pretty low, but I realize there hasn't been a sale worth reporting in months. I'm actually surprised, I have been selling parts for 4 years, and I don't remember seeing such a drought of sales to resplenish the inventory. In fact, I have bought almost nothing to part out in the past 7 months! Did TLG solve the non-linear system of equations to achieve the perfect production-sale equilibrium? Is the great 2x4 brick in the sky frowning upon our erethic ways? Is it an early sign of humanity entering a new post-plastic age?

Their website stinks for showing actual products, but here's a link to the online flier: http://www.jeancoutu.com/en/online-flyers/ Might be worth stopping in to see what they have.

Retail price is $90 up here so this is a good deal. I'm not big on the set myself but my son is so I bought one. If someone else gets it for him for Christmas I'll hold it for resale.

http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-toys-games-Star-wars-lego-millenium-falcon-10179-W0QQAdIdZ498953010 There's about a fifty/fifty chance its still available, I don't have the money to put in an offer but I thought maybe a lucky Brickpicker could profit off this one! Used, 10179's value is around 1700; over double the money being asked! It's missing a few pieces and I'm not sure if its a bricklinked version, but resselling you should be able to get a decent profit. Good luck!

Any Canadians out there interested in buy a large bulk lot of 115 sets? I would like to sell it in Canada because I think the cost of shipping to the US tracked etc is going to be insane. It is currently taking up two 100+L Rubbermaid containers. I bought a large amount from a local person that kids had grown up and they were moving and needed to get rid of all their toys and lego. It was a lot more work than I expected and after almost 3 months and hundreds of hours, myself and my kids have it all sorted out and want to sell it (which was our end goal when buying). Our 2 week estimate was way off so getting a little pressure to get this sold. All sets around fr…

  15. As the title says - the small mom&pop LEGO store Lasting Toys in Mississauga appears to be closing it's doors and is having a sale to sell through their stock. They sell a wide range of LEGO, including the current stuff at retail prices, and retired sets at a markup. I'm local to their store, so i'll be checking it occasionally, but their large exclusives (even the ones currently available) usually have a markup already applied, so even at %10 off there isn't much of a deal there. Either way i figure i'd post this for anyone local to the store looking for something, i'm sure there will be good deals to find at some point. The sales are as follows (currently)…

Hi guys, Just spot a 50% off deal at Sears, see here: http://www.sears.ca/product/lego-creator-highway-pickup-set/616-000053108-4654041. For this Creator set although it has been retired but there seems no much investment potential, I think it could still be a perfect gift! I bought this thing last year for my son's birthday at 20% off, and it is quite good. Personally I have grabbed extra 4 more for the Xmas season. Good luck!

This could of went in multiple forums/topics but I'll decided to condense it here on the Canada sub section for more local traffic. Went to the Discovery Centre today at Vaughan Mills, annual passes were 15% off and I saw some SSD's and GE's available, asked a rep are they're still giving 10% off ALL sets and she said yes. Couldn't refuse so got my annual pass. 15% off. There were 2 SSDs left, I took the best condition one (9/10)...who knows if they have more in the back. Also picked up 4 GE's. 10% off these sets saved me a bundle OR basically got my annual pass free and Lego purchases at 10% off for the next 365 days. There is ONE SSD left, ok …

FYI. Yesterday ran into a TRU in Montreal and surprised to find they have 2 79018 The Lonely Mountain on shelf, which should start to be available to VIPs on Oct. 15. Didn't check with clerks whether could check out with them, but seems they are just there for buyers to pick up. TRU does not put this on their website, so there is no clue that you can find this in store. For those who want this ASAP, a visit to your local TRU store might be worthy.
