  4. The discussion in the Walmart Clearance thread about 60139 got me thinking - What are some of the longest set production runs for Non-Exclusives/Architecture etc? Also going to exclude Duplo and the standard LEGO blocks (classic) here. 3 years is long, but not long enough to make this list I imagine. I'm looking for stuff out at least 3.5+. I remember Batcave 6860 being out about 3 years... 3 that hit me pretty quickly from the last 5 years or so - 60139 - City: Police Mobile Police Center. Released Jan 2017, Still in production now. 4.5 years. 31058 - Creator: Mighty Dinosaurs. Released Nov 2016, still in Production now. (Coming up on 5 years) Ha…

  12. https://www.informationweek.com/cloud/why-lego-went-cloud-and-serverless-to-handle-traffic-spikes/d/d-id/1339742 Much like others in ecommerce, Lego sees extremely spikey traffic patterns, said Nicole Yip, engineering manager in direct shopper technology at The Lego Group. She discussed how the team behind Lego.com deals with sudden increases in demand for its services, usually tied to product launches and sales events that encourage throngs of customers to access the site at the same time. “Imagine trying to tackle all of that spikiness and year-on-year growth with an on-premise monolith tied to back-end systems with limited scale,” Yip said. Sometimes such mon…

Hi all, Don't know if this is the right place to post this. But I just made my very first sale! Flipped a Mos Eisley for $501 on eBay. I started out with an investment of $2,000 to get my feet wet and explore this as a hobby. I'll report back with all my noobie mistakes and ROI when I've sold them all!

How do you all stream live tv? I don't like paying for OTA broadcasts, but I'm too far from any transmission source to get anything other than PBS. Locast seems cool, but it's not in my area. I can put together a hodge podge of services to watch live, but the price essentially mirrors cable or very near it. I'm using https://puffer.stanford.edu/ right now--the Standford University research stream that basically gives you live broadcast tv in exchange for watching your streaming habits. It only really works on my computer and is capped at 500 live users at any time and sometimes you have to wait for a "ticket" to open, but it's 100% free and legal.

  19. I have been trying to find warehouse space near me for a couple years now. Most locations are a 30 minute drive on a good day. Rent runs 1500$ for 1200-2000 sq ft. I live in a medium size metropolitan city which doesn't have very much commercial space. Without going too much into the details I haven't been impressed with the warehouse options available to me. I am now considering purchasing a home near me in a lower cost area of town and using it as a Lego warehouse/shipment location. With current interest rates I could snag a 1300-1600$ mortgage and have a 2000sq ft place to run my business. I could always rent it out if I found a better option. My financial situati…

  22. The Brick Fan is accumulating AFOL feedback for LEGO on their changed Rewards VIP system. I know many of us aren’t fans of the changed program. While there are some cool things about it, the checkout process has been degraded, some folks don't like the new Points to Money Spent formula, etc... Here is the link. Leave comments on his web site. Please leave comments as an AFOL there. LEGO likely doesn’t want to hear reseller-related feedback. https://www.thebrickfan.com/lego-taking-feedback-on-lego-vip-program/ note : I also added a simple poll here. Which rewards system do you like better? Old? New? A combo? @tormentalous
