  1. Even though the article is 5 years old and the regulars here probably are familiar with this article, I thought the article was a entertaining read. I figured the others, especially those like myself who just returned to Legos after dark ages, might learn a thing or two like I did. http://gizmodo.com/5019797/everything-you-always-wanted-to-know-about-lego

Just wondering if someone can help me out on this one... How do you figure out is something is an exclusive set to any store besides looking on all the sites to see which ones have them in stock? Examples of stores that sets might be exclusive to: LEGO Shop at Home, Walmart, TRU, Target. Thanks everyone!

  6. Hey BP guys and gals, I am in a small pickle with my 8089 set for my kiddo. We got this set and when we opened it up we were missing the left horn for the wampa figure. I have contacted TLG customer service and they would be glad to replace it. Unfortunately, they need a number on the back of our manual... and its already been misplaced. I offered to send them a copy of my receipt or something from the box, but that's a no go. I was really hoping someone could help me out if they have an extra manual lying around. Otherwise I'll have to pay for another one on bricklink. I would be grateful if someone could message me and help us out. Nothing fishy here I just need t…

I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts this morning, and the subject of Lego came up. And that got me thinking - what podcasts does everyone listen to? What are your "can't miss" podcasts? In no particular order, here are mine: Doctor Who: Radio Free Skaro - Doctor Who-related podcast. One of the hosts is a big AFOL. I often wonder if he's on here. Comic Geek Speak - general comic book talk DC Radio - DC Comics specific podcast, discussing the new comics coming out each week Nerdist - lots of great interviews with celebrities Tales from the Jungle Cruise - Disneyland Jungle Cruise Skippers talking to other Skippers about adventures on the Jungl…

I figured with 65 days to go, now is a good time to start a thread for the real Football fans on BP (j/k). Anything related to WC preparations, squads, players, coaches,, and ultimately games can be discussed here . Things will probably heat up as we closer to June but why not start a bit early . Please make sure any discussion is civil, respectful, and no trolling. So, who do think will win? which team are you cheering? who will be the dark horse? will the USA make it out of the first round?

(Apologies if this is in the wrong place or inappropriate. Feel free to delete if it is.) Since this site seems to be about making money, I thought I'd raise the subject of another income-generator I have looked into, which requires zero storage space, but can use similar bargain-finding skills: the stock market! Or, more specifically, financial spread betting which doesn't involve buying shares but is effectively the same, except no capital gains tax to pay and you can leverage your money to "buy" more stock than you otherwise could have, and shorting is easier too (although not really recommended because of the huge risk involved). Anyway, I'm not sure if …

http://brickfanatics.co.uk/fire-at-legoland-malaysia/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+brickfanatics+(Brick+Fanatics) The official statement seems to be "a minor fire". While I agree that in proportion to the whole park that might be true, I still wouldn't it consider 'minor' after seeing the picture.

I was wondering what was the first set you gals and guys owned? When did it start? For me, as far as I can remember, it was 6363 Auto Repair Shop, set made in 1980. I was 3 that year plus I wouldn't remember anything so it had to be couple years later. no, no helicopter, but yes, stickers Plus I bought it again few years ago On eBay, but later again, I sold it lol

Let's say I was planning to post images for some of my own creations, I would like to get some feedback from fellow members that have used or still use any one of these image uploading type of sites. Aside from being a "Which is better or worst?" question, I am trying to find out a list of pros & cons. I have added a poll in case you do not feel like leaving a response. flickr - Brickshelf - MOCpages If you know of another similiar site or sites, please let me know.

  19. I would love to know which would save or make you more money in the long run... 1) Using your investment and subsequent investments (would love approximate examples from some of you) on buying Lego and flipping year after year and determining actual return on it after paying taxes (assuming most of you do on your sales/net income) 2) taking that initial deposit and subsequent "additional money" and paying down your home loan and how much interest you would save over the life of the loan Let's keep time value of money out of it, as well as, inflation Here's a quick example on the loan side... $200,000 Loan, 30 yr, 4% (total interest paid through t…

Hi guys, I see a few bricktonians on here doing their best to help the community, so I figured I'd give it a shot as well. When I was a trader for the game Team Fortress 2, I made quite a pretty penny making avatars and screenshots to help advertise their hats people needed to sell. So I'm quite experienced with GIMP. Yeah, I use GIMP. It's free. However, I will upon request create any avatars for anyone on here for free. Just send me a PM or post here saying what how/what you want done, and I'll do my best to meet up to your expectations. All sizes will be 128x128 or shorter, so you can immediately make it your avatar for Brick picker. I do accept tips via peer to …

I do not want to spend any money on Lego storage boxes, but my collection is getting pretty big now that my kids are amassing quite a few bricks, too. I have been building some robots with Arduinos, and started saving the lids from Jiffy peanut butter jars for wheels. When reading the Lifehacker website about getting the labels off of the peanut butter jars so that I could use the jars, too, I found that peanut butter was the solution (pun intended) to use to get that icky glue off the jar under the label. Last week I started organizing all my lego figures, and I needed a storage solutions for them. A big drawer was too big to just throw them in, so I put them …
