I feel 10 brickpoints is too low for a review with 1000 characters. Maybe 25 points will be more attractive? Just a suggestion. (I am about to write a few reviews, LOL)

Apologies - I'm new here - so at least I have an excuse if I ask anything dumb. - Since reviews are starting to become a more integrated piece of this site - is there a place to track your reviews like there is your brickfolio? I would be nice to have a user dashboard or that would include this info like it already does for brickpoints and all of the other inputted data. Not to pimp other sites, but www.dgcoursereview.com, another site I use really does a good job tracking and developing reviews for their site. Makes the whole place very user friendly and user driven. Might be a good example to follow if this is indeed going to become a bigger focus on an alread…

Jeff just added a MOST RECENT & LATEST FORUM POST tab to the top of the forum toolbar(RED TAB). It will show, in order, the most recent forum posts. It's a simple improvement, but one many of you have been asking for...

We have just created/moved a number of forums into a "Small/Retired/Miscellaneous Themes" Forum/Subforum area. It's a grouping of LEGO themes that may not necessarily be big enough for their own main page topic. Over the next couple of days, we will be moving some of those topics into the appropriate theme areas. If there is anything in particular that you happen to catch, feel free to "Report It" it to the mods, so we can catch it and move it. Enjoy!

I just added a new feature to each price guide set page. You will now be able to see the price history of Amazon and 3rd party sellers on Amazon. This will be helpful in case you are ever wondering what the lowest price was for a set on Amazon. Its also amazing to see how much fluctuation Amazon pricing really has. As with any updates, there may be a bug or two. Hopefully not Just click the links you see near the Amazon logo near the current offers for each set. If we do not have Amazon code numbers, you will not see the links. Take a look at the attached photo. Just remember, for any sets that are retired, you will most like have to click on the 3rd Party Selle…

Anyone have any guesses on the next BrickPoints Contest? I am going to guess that the prize is going to be eithe a LEGO Shop at Home giftcard or one of the following: - 10228 Haunted House - 10224 Town Hall - 10225 UCS R2-D2 - 8110 Unimog - 10227 UCS B-Wing - 10232 Palace Cinema Based on the results that Ed got from the survey on a "Hypothetical Contest", looks like the Gift Card is the most popular, though it would pose a couple difficulties, as we also have many international members here who have inflated set costs (I feel for you guys! ). You can see that thread HERE. We will get the to know the actual contest tomorrow, April 1st, …

I have been working a lot with the tech support team of the forum, and while the forum worked, it is not working in its true native environment. Late yesterday I purchased a new dedicated server just for the forum. Loads of memory, SSD hard drives, etc. Hopefully you will be able to notice the difference already in responsiveness to normal page views in the forum. I need to update the links on the menus but the new web address will now be http://community.brickpicker.com. Thank youJeff

Hello BrickPickers... It's that time of year again. Time to raise money for my son Max's school, St. Paul School in Burlington, NJ. After a very...VERY...successful first BRICKPICKER LEGO RAFFLE in which we raised over $62,000.00 for the school, it is time to start thinking about this year's version. The money we raised last year literally kept the school open...which is a great thing. It's a special school that once again was voted BEST Private School in Burlington County, NJ by The Burlington County Times, along with numerous other awards. We picked up 25 new children this year, which is great news as well. This year, Jeff and I will be chipping i…

Plenty of times on the forum, we see members pointing out good and bad deals from Craigslist listings. Recently I started to spend a little more time on the site to see what is going on. Overall I find some pretty cool finds from time to time. All aren't in my area, but I do like to look and see what is around. I put together a simple feature that will allow you to select several Craigslist regions and be able to look at all of them at the same time. You can also filter the listings by region easily to make it a little easier to see what is available in your area. This is a work in progress, but here are some features that I will be adding to it real soon: Keyword…

Here is something I have wanted to put together for some time. Working on Brick Classifieds, I realized I had already made a few bits of code that will work well for finding out the value of some of these listings we find on eBay and Craigslist. Is this eBay listing really worth $1799? Go ahead, try out the new tool and find out. I think you will find that it is overpriced!! Use the tool to make people offers on their lots. Send them to the site so they can find out for themselves. It's Very Simple to Use!!! I worked it out so that for many of the listings, you can just paste in their list of set numbers and set titles. When you hit the "Process Set…

This is something I have wanted to try for a while to help. You should now start seeing a new feature in the sidebar called "Set Trend Tracker" (Work in Progress title, will come up with something more catchy later, maybe like "Brick Tracker???"). What I want to accomplish here is a way for you the member to suggest sets to target for monitoring as far as stock and pricing. There will be another add-on widget to this that will then take the top voted sets and show current tracking information for you to come in and target. Here are a few features You can suggest a set, just click the button, add the set number and name. Admins/Moderators will approve …

Reading some of the latest comments I added in a feature that will show you similar topics when you are posting. This is just a trial run. Some may find it annoying, some may find it helpful. It can cut down on duplicate posts and help keep other topics going strong. Lets try it out and see how it works. Here is a video to show how it works. After you type your topic title and move to the next form field, you should see the topic options come in. If you see a topic that matches yours, don't create a new one, keep the other one alive. I disabled this feature in the Introduce Yourself forum, since I know there will already be many similar types. That is fine. h…

Hello... Jeff and I just added two new forum categories...Bricklink Marketplace and Non-LEGO Deals. The Bricklink section can be used to discuss buying and selling techniques and ideas based on the Bricklink site. Please do not promote your Bricklink stores here. The Non-LEGO Deals will work like the LEGO Daily Deals page. Members can post great deals on NON-LEGO related items like toys, collectibles and electronics that they want to share with other members. Jeff and I are going to monitor the activity on these two sections to gauge interest for our upcoming DAILY DEALS 2.0 and Brick Classifieds and decide whether or not we will incorporate these ideas …

Not sure if anyone else has had a chance to try out the Gallery feature, but I just uploaded some pictures of my quick MOCs that I make when I take my kids to Legoland Discovery Center just outside of Chicago. Kudos to Jeff and Ed on this gallery feature! It's easy to use, has some key features (like rotate image), and really shows pictures well. I would invite anyone to check out my Gallery, but I'm not sure how members can access it. I suppose you can try to click on my user name to see if it offers you the option to check the Gallery.

Based on all the conversations, forum posts, private messages to talk about local area deals/bargins/sales (whatever you might want to call them), we create a new Forum Category for these deals. For now I created a few individual forums for the main general areas/countries. Please create your own local areas within these forums. We will see how it all starts to pan out and then make the appropriate changes to help make sure members get the most of this useful information. Thank you Jeff

No earth shattering feature here, but just trying to help people communicate. I have added a area in the header that will let you know if you have new Private Messages that need to be read. Just click the number and a new window will pop up showing you last 5 messages. From this window you can go directly to the message, to your Inbox or start to compose a new message. See the screenshot below. Ed and I also get a lot of questions about how many people are on the site at any given time. There is now a new number that is showing you current active members. This number updates every 10 minutes. See the screenshot below to see what I am talking about. This number c…

Hello BrickPickers... With the increased site traffic and the new Brick Classifieds forum launching soon, we have asked jaisonline and Bold-Arrow to be moderators. They have graciously accepted. Jeff is finishing up the Brick Classifieds and it looks and works great(He showed me this morning). We will be adding a few more moderators once the Brick Classifieds site and forum go live, preferably members that will be active on the Brick Classifieds and will be able to instruct others on how to use the Brick Classifieds and inform new users about the rules and regulations. More on that later... Ed Mack
