Harry Potter

Hi all, A question for those who have build Diagon Alley. Are the 3 buildings completely separate as packed? Meaning if you build Olivander's wand shop first, should you have any leftover pieces for the next two buildings? I am curious as I bought a semi-used one off of Craigslist the other day - Olivander's was built, and is 100% complete, but the other two buildings were never opened from their bags or constructed. Trying to decide if I want to sell some of them solo - like just sell Gringotts by itself, etc. Any help appreciated.

Found about half of a Hogwarts 4842 in a used lot, the dining hall and the other big entrance building... do I bother attempting to find the other bags for this set to build the other 2 towers? Starting to look through BL, but this seems like a giant headache and I'm guessing it's going to cost me just as much to gather it is as it will bring it if I sell it. I wouldn't mind even displaying it, but I can't find a decent process that isn't almost worth just paying the used eBay prices for a complete one.

hi Guys and Girls, I have a burrow on amazon and it just sold for 205 euros!! Question....Is this a one off or is this set just skyrocketing?? It was my first amazon lego sale so im not sure what to expect.........

Greetings: I have a small collection of HP sets (3 Burrows, 2 DA, 2 Hogwarts, 2 Hog Express, 1 Hagrid Hut, and a couple Quid Matches). I know this question is routinely asked and answered but I couldn't find it before posting. I've been checking ebay every week or so for the last couple of months, and with the exception of the burrow and maybe express, I haven't seen the prices going up too much. What are the thoughts on when to sell these sets? Much appreciated!

I found a retailer with a number of Harry Potter Knight Buses for 34.99, but when I went home to check the price online it was 24.99 with the option for instore pickup. I just recently joined this site so I have not point of reference for the valuable HP sets. I have been focusing on star wars and LOTR, but the HP sets caught my eye because they seemed out of place. Is this a good price for these sets? I checked ebay and they seem to be hit or miss, but all sold items are above the price I would pay.

So, I just picked up the last HP sets in my local store: Hagrid's Hut 4837 for 39,00 EUR Hogwarts Express 4841 for 75 EUR Should I hold onto these two for some more time or just resell right now?

I have a few of the Harry Potter Knight Bus (4866) and there is a difference between the boxes. One has extra information printed on the front (number of bricks etc). I purchased this one from overseas. Does it make a difference to the value? Are the ones without the extra information worth more. I am planning on selling them but would like to know which ones I should keep for longest. Many thanks, Tylerfox.

I stumbled upon a bunch of small HP sets and pollybags today. Specifically, I found 3 x Freeing Doby (4736) @ $5 each 5 x Forbidden Forest (4865) @ $9 each 17 x Mini Hogwarts Express PB (40028) @ $3.99 each 20 x The Lab PB (30111) @ $3.99 each Worth the investment? I'm pretty new to this and thus far have mainly invested in big sets. I appreciate any advice anyone can offer. Thanx

This set has completely taken off of course since going EOL. Way more than other HP sets. From what I can gather, seems to be related to the 1 year on the shelf lifespan, and the inclusion of one-of-a-kind minifigs (Arthur, Molly, Bellatrix). One thing I haven't been able to tell looking at past threads - was this set exclusive to any retailer? Or was it available everywhere? Was in a dark age at the time outside of Star Wars sets, so I can't recall. And of course speculation on which set could be the next Burrow is welcomed as well. :-)

I bought the 7939 Cargo Train (Yellow) and 4867 Hogwarts on a "buy 1 get 1 40% off" deal. I'm looking to sell Hogwarts on Ebay in November. Did I make a good investment or should I take it back?

Hello everyone, I have the opportunity to grab Hogwarts 4842 for $175. Only thing is that the box is medium-heavy shelf wear/creases/damage. Still sealed though, which is most important. I own a Helms Deep in similar condition, and I think this is a good deal but just not sure on the level of shelf wear or creases. How much will this reduce the value? Thanks! EDIT: Keep in mind that I am in Canada, and $175 is only about $20-25 over the retail price.

I not even gonna bother saying how absolutely amazing it is, the art speaks for itself quite clearly.

Just caught this one on The Brick Fan. An absolutely brilliant masterpiece designed from pure passion! There will never be an equal to artwork such as this. Simply beautiful.

I am new to the scene, so I missed any chance of grabbing 10217 discounted in the past. I've been watching Amazon lately to see if they'll budge past their current 1% offer. I am starting to think that I should just place my order now rather than miss out. I haven't seen a set of Harry Potter except for the bus since Black Friday. (So mad I bought a new Wii U instead of spending it all on HP LEGO sets.) What are the chances that they are done with this set all together? Please tell me I will see this in stores again... I REALLY want to be able to buy these at a good price.

Looking for some advice from you experts. Last Christmas when I was a noob I bought some Burrow sets (4840) and was trying to part them out. I sold some parts and make some profit but not as much as if I left the sets as a whole for a wait and hold strategy. Luckily I have 4 complete sets in sealed boxes so still have some upside. Enough of my rambling the question I have pertains to some of the parts I have remaining particularly the Bellatrix Mini Fig. This is currently going on eBay for about 20 bucks a pop; do you think this will continue to gain in value after the HP is completely gone or am at a peak and should look to sell now for the 20-23 mark? thanks in…

Guys, need your wisdom on this one.... I bought 2 4842 off a 3rd party Amazon reseller. Price is "ok", around $126 with shipping As I ship to California, sales tax is inevitable unless buy from 3rd party.... At current price, either from Amazon direct, or sites like Walmart or Target, lowest price include shipping & tax will come up roughly $136 each... So unless we can foresee another wave of future sales on these 4842 before they are gone, otherwise I am looking at either accepting these imperfections on the box, or give up the $10 savings each.... So it was bound to happen eventually, I finally bought a set that was not Star Wars themed. It was 4876 Hogwarts Castle. I got it for 30 bucks MISB. Can anyone who has it tell me their thoughts on this set, or even if you dont have it. I wanted to start small outside the Star Wars theme and this was a good choice I thought.

I am hesitant regarding a purchase, should I get the Hogwarts Castle or the Diagon Alley? Both are mearly, if not already EOLd. WWEOJD?
