  1. Started by Brian Briggs,

Hello all, This year I got back into LEGO. For quite some time I had my eyes on the modular buildings. My main intention is to collect these and also to create modular MOCs. After purchasing several minifigures from different CMF series I started aquiring some modulars. My first big purchase was the Town Hall set 10224. The price was quite steep at around 330€ as prices can rise easily above RRP after EOL. That's why I'm now trying to avoid missing out on sets, especially exclusives, that I might want to build or use in the future. In the end I guess it's better to end up with some spare sets I can resell in case I don't need them. Thanks for reading this.

hey guys great place you have here.. all my son wants to do is play golf or build lego ? he has quite a few sets now and is starting to save his pocket money to buy higher end sets now, and i dont want it to just go down the drain. he likes to build the lego & has done for the past 3 years, i have some question regarding what he should do after he has built them, in case he wants to sell them on a few years down the line? 1) is lego only worth top dollar unopened? 2) should you keep ALL the packaging etc? 3) what happens if a piece is missing? can you just find another piece and add it to the set? 4) i also cannot find any d…

Just found this forum and thought it might be fun to talk about Legos (and check listings for old sets). Currently an advanced graduate student who still occasionally gets the odd Lego set because they make some decent ones. Most of my collection is from 1994-2000 - my childhood toys. I'm very thankful that I used to be careful with my sets, as most are still 100% complete. Favorites are the usual: Pirates, Knights, Wild West, Star Wars.

Hi, my name is Sean and as a kid as many of you Lego was my main toy from the ages of about 3-14, I started off with space lego and each Christmas / birthday or treat I would always opt for lego. I had a break from it when I was about 8 - 10 and played with some technic for a while but then got back into space when the M tron sets and also the space police sets came onto the market. Alas it all went into the loft in a box at my parents with the view of handing it down to my kids at some point but that never happened as there was a lack of kids! They recently bought it round to me and I have steadily built around 56 space lego sets over the last few weeks with …

Hi everyone, All the way from Western Australia here, Lego seems bigger than ever these days. I've risen out of a 20 year stint in the dark years (hence the username ), my saving grace was my kid. We started on Duplo but it wasn't reaching the age to play with Lego that I was awoken out of my slumber. I'm a bit scared at what I've spent in just a few months but I could not resist the Modular's and big Star Wars sets. At this stage I'm undecided over whether to build or keep mint in box with some items.

Hi all, I'm an AFOL who came out of my dark ages about 5 years ago. Started flipping in 2011, not so much for profit but to support the hobby. Love playing and building wiht my daughters and just got my wife interested in building the Fairgrounds Mixer. At the high my inventory was about $20k MSRP in opened sets, but had to free up a bunch of shelf space so now I'm down to mostly things I hope to build in the future. The biggest lessons I've learned so far are: These things taka a lot of space to store. These things can be expensive to ship. Dont discount the value of your own time. Don't sell too soon!

Just discovered this site a few days ago but I'm a loooong time LEGO fan. Started playing with the original LEGO SPACE, TOWN, and Technic sets from the late 70s onwards. Collected the original Pirate sets fanatically but took a long break afterwards. That is until the first licensed Star Wars sets appeared 1999 and I was totally hooked again. Have been collecting (and building) Star Wars, Pirates/Carribean, Indiana Jones, Batman, DC/Marvel Heroes, Lord of the Rings, and even Sponge Bob. Needless to say, my collection has grown massive!

I'm a Lego fan since I was a child, I have some Lego still stored in boxes (but not the original Lego boxes! ) and I would like to know their value, just to have an idea, I don't wanna sell them because those bricks will be mine forever! I would like to post some pictures (I still have to do them) , can I do that here or in another section? Thank you, ciao ciao!

So well I come from Germany and I'm also a Lego Investor. Hello, I'm an AFOL from Poland. I've started collecting Lego less than 2 years ago. I used to own quite a few sets when I was a kid (which was a long time ago), and I've decided to try again. Unfortunately there was nothing left from my old collection so I had to start from scratch. I'm interested mostly in Technic, and my passion soon infected my wife who's building those sets that look good on a shelf (Camper, Mini, Tower Bridge, R2D2, that kind of stuff). Recently I've also started investing in Lego and found this site to be very helpful. So far I'm not investing too much basically because I don't have too much space to store those boxes for a few yea…

  18. Hello everyone, I was 7 years old when I received my first Lego kit, which was a universal building kit and since there were no Star Wars sets back then, I had a few Space themed sets. Thankfully, I never got rid of my sets and still have them all to this day. I have a 7 years old son and a 4 year old daughter and they are now finally old enough to have all of my old sets built now. I

Just joined up and wanted to say hello, its doubtful I'll be a frequent poster as I'll be a dad next month, the experience has awoken my inner child though and I've started regressing by buying lots of Lego. My personal collection started with Lego Space back in the day and I'm really digging the Superheroes and Star Wars sets at the moment, part investment (the urge to break the box is palpable........) and part I just want to build and share the wonder of Lego with my new mini-me (although the small bits mean I'll have to wait a little while longer) anyways, nice to make your acquaintance. all the best littleyellowhead (surprised that username was available on her…

  21. Hi all, I've just gotten back into legos when I got a set for my birthday. I'm just wondering when you shop on the lego site as a Canadian do we get stuck paying additional duties once it gets to our houses? Also I have an investment question, are most of the exclusives like modulars pretty much guaranteed to make you some money after 2-3 years? Thanks for taking the time to read my questions.

My Mom started buying me Lego sets in 1980, one of the first one's being 6390 Main Street one of my all time favorites. 23. So been around now for a few weeks, and thought it was time I did one of these. Hi, I'm Keith. I am a dad to 2 wonderful little girls and husband to an amazing wife. I love Lego's, always have. I got back into Lego's last summer when my oldest (6 at the time) said she wanted to take a mindstorm robotics class for fun. After I picked up myself, from being blown away by how amazing my child was. I said sure thing, and then said a quick prayer that my wife would be OK with it. She was and we were off. My youngest is 4 and a Hugh Lego friends fan. (oddly nether of my girls like the princess ones, but love princess) Being that my wife is a Special Ed…

Have been reading and enjoying all the info on this site for a few days now. I have been a big Star Wars and Sci Fi fan for a long time. I own a few SW and Alien Conquest sets and may pick up some Monster Fighters as well. I also want to introduce my son to Lego (although I may go broke in the process). I enjoy all the info here.
