hey guys great place you have here.. all my son wants to do is play golf or build lego ? he has quite a few sets now and is starting to save his pocket money to buy higher end sets now, and i dont want it to just go down the drain. he likes to build the lego & has done for the past 3 years, i have some question regarding what he should do after he has built them, in case he wants to sell them on a few years down the line? 1) is lego only worth top dollar unopened? 2) should you keep ALL the packaging etc? 3) what happens if a piece is missing? can you just find another piece and add it to the set? 4) i also cannot find any d…

Long-time lego fan here. I still own many of the classic space sets from my youth including Galaxy Explorer and Galaxy Commander (although they couldn't be further from Mint condition ;-). I can still vividly recall the excitement of getting a new lego catalog, marking items for my wishlist and ultimately getting a big set for my birthday or Christmas. I have a son who's finally arrived in the Lego age bracket and I love his excitement when he gets a new set. I've never lost interest in Lego, but rediscovered it as an AFOL activity over the past two years, following a couple builders on Flickr and buying two sets to build for my own enjoyment: Tydirium Shuttle and Mi…

I am looking to get a set for my daughter I made this video to show what is currently available in my local toy store (the week before christmas). Her Birthday is in February so I can wait until after all of the Christmas madness. But I am looking for any suggestions for set series to get into with her. I am thinking I am gonna have to bite the bullet and go for the disney princesses one, but was wondering if there was a more gender neutral one that would also work? TIA!

I am new to the site. I learned about BrickPicker.com after buying The Collectible Lego MiniFigure book. As a child growing up in the 80s, I was a huge fan of the Lego Space sets and fondly remember using the pieces of several sets to make my own creations. I have a 3 year old daughter who is fascinated with all things lego--especially minifigures. Her interest has renewed my own interest in Lego. As an avid photographer, I am especially interested in combing my interest in Lego with photography to produce images. With the holiday sales going on, I have been spending more than I expected on Lego sets and figures. Hopefully I don't end up filling my home with Lego prod…

Well here's my introductory post - just found about this site through surfing on eBay. Been on BrickLink for about a year and a half or so, but somehow never knew about this site. Anyway - excited to be here and to check things out - looks like lots of activity on here. My Lego history - well probably like many others, played a lot as a kid (now I wonder where those bricks are.......) and now I guess I'm reliving some of those days! I have to decide if I'm going to be a collector, builder, or both. Right now have been picking up some Lego Architecture sets and the Lego Ideas sets are pretty compelling too (though I just have one of those so far). At some poi…

Hi, So as all the forum rules say, let's introduce myself first: I am french and live in France (don't know if there is much frenchies around), I went back into lego start of 2015, essantially collecting Star Wars theme. I kept a few boxes sealed planning to build them later, then I saw the value of those boxes rising and decided to sell a few, made a bit of profit with the cantina set in particular, that's where the idea to auto-finance my collection started. I am now still collecting a bit but use lego essantially as a saving account with a rate way better than the average 0.75% in the bank here. I buy things I like only and it always worked for me, …

I am probably one of the oldest guys on this site,I never knew this place existed until a few days ago however I am not new to selling Lego's its something I have been doing on Ebay for over 20 years though not often but sell lots of other items too with almost 6000 feedback. My story began 21 years ago when we bought a load of lego for $50 at a yard sale, for my son who was way too young for Lego at the time and you have to start some where. These where old Lego sets some with boxes etc mostly space related and as a matter of interest just looked to see what they would sell for on Ebay.Well over a period of months I made over $1000 on those Lego's and went out and bou…

Hello fellow bp'ers. Thought I could stop in and say Hi after joining back in May, very close from the time I emerged from the 'dark ages' of over 15 years, wowsa! Not looking to make any profits here, just limit my spending? For those that care to read, and for many it may sound familiar(and if you dont care at all, now is the time to scroll to the end) it all started again when my parents gave back my old legos from the 1990's (Small to mid-size sets & my own 'mocs' from childhood), that soon lead to a $200 bin off craigslist after being shocked at current RRP's. This first bulk lot kept me busy through the winter and also taught me a thing or two about b…

Hello! I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself before I spend all my time lurking here looking at plastic bricks. :-) You can call me LynnPerformance. I am a mid 20s lego appreciator who is - frankly - just getting back into this hobby after over 10 years. What got me to come back and spend unnecessary portions of my retirement fund on plastic bits was the new Porsche Technic model and now I can safely say I am in deep. Pleased to meet you all!

Hi, I'm a life long fan of Lego and recently started getting back into it for the first time since I was a kid. I have been collecting the newer Star Wars sets for personal use. I plan on finding good deals so I can resell them to fund my own Lego addiction.

Hello. My name is Ruben 34 years old, and I've had one large relationship to Lego through my childhood. Tragically, my collection at that time, I experienced one visit that destroyed all Lego I had, meanwhile I was gone. The values of this Lego had been quite high today. After that I simply stopped to collect. When I turned 30, I got the volkswagen bus as a gift, and ever since I've started the collecting again. To the delight of myself, I experience the childhood thrills when I build lego. My fiance also very fond of Lego, probably because she always wanted lego. But because of the price, she got some fake lego in her childhood. She is also an collector perso…

Hi All Just joined the site after finding my lego love affair after 27 years of being away. For many years I kept thinking about buying for fun and maybe a small bit of set storing for later selling and then accidentaly purchased the UCS Tie-figher after falling though the lego store doors coincidentally with my visa card in hand (strange but the same happened again with slave 1 and sandcrawler, just very accident prone), built them and the bug has started. Purchased a couple of the new larger sets and a few medium size sets so far. I'm staying well within my means so I doubt I will become a serious buyer/seller but as long as I'm somewhere in the region of what…

Hi everyone, I am a 37 year old father of a son (6) who has rekindled my interest in building Lego. He discovered the SW character encyclopedia a few months ago and it's been all downhill since. :-) As of September, I have started to collect/invest and stumbled upon BP after seeking helpful advice/insight into this art. We will see where this goes... Have stockpiled 60 sets to date @ an average of 61.7% off RRP. I have been buying mostly speculative EOL stuff with a few newer sets mixed in. I appreciate the content here and the folks who make the site go. It's been a great experience just lurking and learning. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend...

Hi, new to BrickPicker here, I found the site while researching values for my Star Wars Lego collection. Looks like a great forum and resource - hopefully I can find a home for my 50+ mint condition Star Wars Lego sets from 2000-2002, including several UCS sets (X-Wing, Star Destroyer, Blockade Runner, Maul Bust, Yoda). Will be making some more posts soon - meantime hope your having a nice day!

Hi everyone ! I'm 43, and a BP member for 1 year now, and I take my courage to present myself (in fact my English level is average so please forgive the mistakes). I came out from my dark age 2 years ago because of the kids. "I want a tie-fighter ! I want a x-wing !" I was remembering my old lego space period...And last year, Wall-E and the new SW movie were a start of buying more and more sets for my own . In fact, there's nothing to do with "LEGO better than gold", but when I found your website, this stuff changed my mind completely I know it's maybe too late for great profits, but never mind, I love LEGO anyway (I still own my old sets), and I think this hol…

Hi my name is Catherine, 31 years old. I am from Québec, Canada (I speak French mainly). I just started investing in Lego sets seriously last month. I collect Lego and take a look at the Lego market since 3 years now. For most of it I buy every ser I like twice. One for me, one to sell later on. I know Bricklink since a few years and I like it as a buyer. I intend to open a Bricklink shop eventually. It's nice and helpfull to see your posts and opinons in investing so far. Thanks

Hi guys I stumbled upon this forum while trying to find out more about Lego Technic sets. Although I purchased Lego sets for my niece (the friends series) I recently purchased my first lego set, the Porsche 42056. Since then I've bought a few more sets and hoping to continue growing my collection. I am a bit of a hoarder, having previously hoarded cars (real ones) and car parts and now still continuing with my music collection (vinyl).
