Hi all, I'm just starting out with my Lego collection. Currently own ewok village, pet shop, yellow submarine and a few London buses (couldn't resist then in the Leicester Square shop) Please could I get some advice regarding challenging builds that cost approximately £50. I want to use Lego as a team building exercise and wanted to know what your suggestions would be regarding sets that could be suitable. I'm planning on having 3 teams, building 3 different sets swapping pieces before the event meaning the candidates would need to negate between themselves Thanks Paul

Hi. I'm a mom of 3. We've been building with Legos as soon as my kids could put pieces together. We try to go to Brickworld Chicago as much as we can. When they were younger they won Build Your Best Texas contest and we got to go to Kidsworld in Texas.

  3. Hello, I'm a life-long Lego fan with a decent collection. I stumbled across this website when researching some of my sets, after I had realized that one of them (Holiday Train 10173) was fairly valuable. I have my wife to thank for that one, as she bought it for me for our first Christmas together back in '06. Now that I've discovered this community I'm starting to think more seriously about Lego as an investment rather than just a toy/hobby. Here is my question: Considering the long history of Lego, why is it that the "most valuable" sets all seem to be from the 2000's? What does that indicate for value 10 years from now? Or another way to look at it …

  6. Hello to everybody! I am Federico from Italy... I have always been a super Lego Fan... In the last few years, after discovering in my parents' attic 114 vintage sets with boxes (even if all mixed up eheheh) I started hunting down ALL Castle and Classic Town sets in their (European) boxes (not MISB...so my collection can be defined as a Back in Box collection) for the period 1978-2000. I also collect the USA versions that have a different code (i.e. 588 vs 381) and US exclusives (575, 590 etc. etc.). I am not far from achieving the first goal (a full set of 1978-1988 castle and town sets) even if I am missing several value packs and some hard to find sets! …

  10. Greetings fellow block heads and firstly many thanks to you all for contributing to what is without doubt the friendliest forum I've ever lurked on. As somebody who has tended to exclusively surf on football forums (soccer for those in the states) with their overt and constant tribalism this place has been an absolute breath of fresh air and a real pleasure to read. I've been in the background for the last year and am one of those posters some of you have referenced on here in frustration, you know, the non-posting members who you fear snaffle all your hot tips without giving back. Why? Well, I originally joined this place simply in order to learn more about o…

Just wanted to stop in and say hi! I've been in and out of Lego's since I was a kid and have a Bricklink store that's been idle for a couple years. I bought and sold lot's off eBay for a few years and it was fun but was very time consuming. Now I am looking at getting back into it but more as an investment and buying new sets as well as still splitting some lots. Hope to learn a lot here about good sets to invest in and hopefully I can contribute a little as well.

New to BP but not Lego. As a kid I grew up with the old school space ships and what not (not like what they have today). I ended up with a decent collection by the time I shipped out to bootcamp but while I was gone my Grandmother passed my collection on to my younger cousins. By the time I found out it was too late, so I moved on. Well fast forward a few decades, I have a son who has taken an affinity for Lego as well . While researching I came across BP and while I don't usually join forums, or communities, I couldn't help but notice how nice everyone is to each-other - you know, compared to the rest of the Internet - so I couldn't help but join and say hello. Looking …

Hi! I'm new to the Lego world. I was introduced to it by my husband a several years ago but only in the past few years have I started putting them together myself. I love Legos even though I'm really bad at putting them together. He got me into them for depression, stress and anxiety relief and WOW do they really help! This Christmas he got me the Palace Cinema and hopefully it will give me at least a good month of assorted reliefs! I'm super slow at putting them together and with all the mistakes I make, I do a lot of taking them apart.

Hello and Happy New Year! I'm new to the Lego investing world and to this site and I'm really pleased to see that there are some nice people on this forum. I don't know what I'm doing yet and you guys are providing a wealth of information for which I'm very grateful. My son is the reason why I started to consider investing / collecting Lego. He asked many times for a few specific sets and when I finally decided to get them for him they were already retired. The reselling prices were more than double but this kid doesn't ask for much so I bought them. Now I'm here, trying to figure out how to finance his love for lego until he can get old enough to get a job ?.

Hi, can you please explain why in the pricing area some of the used prices are greater than the new price, i would have thought an unopened set would have greater value than a used set. Thanks, P.S great site.

Hi all, Aparently I have started 2 threads that violate some standards of this site and they have been deleted immediately. To those that saw them I am sorry. To the moderators that deleted them I ask your help. I haven't seen any guidelines for the use of the threads, if you saw the 2 other posts I ask that you direct me to the appropriate guideline. Hello to all, Very excited to join the brickpicker community! My three year old son has become very interested into Lego's. So, this past Christmas I purchased him Lego Juniors set 10734. Which I was hesitant at first, but as we were putting it together he just took off with it. At one point he said I was going to slow and that all I need to do is follow the pictures. Lol, kids are so honest!! The day after Christmas I went out and purchased -Lego Creator Corner Deli -Lego Creator Toy & Grocery Shop I always wanted to build my own city, so I just ordered some base plates to help me figure our how big I want this city to be. A lot of reading to…
