Hello everyone, I'm new to the community. I buy and sell collectibles and recently got involved in the world of LEGO. I was made an offer I just couldn't refuse...roughly 500 complete sets that used to be owned by a young cancer survivor who was ready to sell them and move on. He and his father sold the entire lot to me for what I feel was a good price. Each set was only assembled one time by the youngster and was then put away for safe keeping, unfortunately that did not mean putting them back in bags and back in their original boxes. I have dozens of huge storage bins in my garage loaded pounds and pounds of raw pieces, a few more storage bins with num…

So just been to my local lego shop (Leeds, trinity centre ) and yes they have a ucs display piece, to see it in the flesh is something else, its massive but amazing, detail is astounding, at first I thought 650 quid is way too much but then worked out price per piece 7,541 pieces to be exact so not so bad after all, if your only going to buy one ucs set this year it has to be this.

Hi my name is flynn, and I'm a AFOL Found this place due to some of the early postings of the new UCS MF set. Was happy to find what looks like an active forum community with great tool integration into other Lego community tools. I'm mostly a Star Wars Lego fan... tho I still have significant Lego assortments from my childhood (The Classic Yellow Castle, numerous Space themes, etc). I mainly collect the Star Wars vehicles.. and the UCS stye sets. Tho I have an affinity for almost any of the Lego vehicles (like the VW Bus). I liked the Simpson's theme, but found I just didn't like having 'playset' only style sets around.. so sold that on. My kids have m…

Hi everybody, Long story short : I'm just anohter AFOL with his childhood collection (some city, space, medieval stuff). I came back to lego a few years ago and now I'm fully committed to big sets like star wars UCS (not older ones that are way too expensive, but new, which are still expensive but... a bit more affordable ) or nice lego Idea sets. I've also built some stuff like Arvo's brothers kaneda's bike and chestburster and some random other stuff from my childhood

My father in South Dakota even wants to get involved to so I'm excited to use the wonderful resource to get questions answered, score good deals, and obviously share the hobby with all of you. Any other members in the Cincinnati area?

Just a quick throw out to collectors on how I've found a very useful way to clean Lego sets. I use a women's panty hose bag and just put them in the washer, on a light wash cycle with minimal detergent on COLD setting. Use minimal detergent with whatever (NOT RECOMMENDED WITH HEAVILY SOILED ITEMS!) and it works wonders!!! BUT, DO NOT put your stickered, labeled, painted pieces in!!! REPEAT!!! DO NOT PUT ANY PIECES IN THAT HAVE STICKERS OR PAINTED BRICKS IN!!!!!! Enjoy!

Hi all, My name is Jan van 't Ende, as my nickname gave away. I am from the Netherlands and started trading Lego since December last year. At first I was buying new Lego in the toy shop for my new born son, early 2016, but once doing that i found out that can be done cheaper. That said, i started buying and selling larger used collections (still do) and with the profit of that I do fun things AND buy long term investments. Although I haven't made the smartest moves yet, I am in the plus with the MISB Lego. I found this website thanks to a different forum and hope to become the smarter buyer and in the long run have a great collection for my son, when he wil…

Hello everyone! I love legos. Love finding good deals and enjoy punishing myself by trying to put together sets out of large bulk bins. I have some good lego investment stories and some bad. One that haunts me was the winter the harry potter last edition were all clearanced from wall mart. I drove to so many wal marts in my small town and all over the region buying up all I could find. I paid an average of 27.25 for hogwarts express and had literally picked up about 40 of them. I sold them all for about 80 a piece instead of hanging on. I also had tons of hogwarts castles, entrances, knight bus, hagrids hut, all sealed. Probably over 100 sets total. I only kept about 10 s…

Hey everyone - my name is Nick (obviously from the username). I've recently (over the past year) rediscovered my my passion and interest in building LEGO. As a kid growing up in the 90's (early 90's especially), I loved the different LEGO Space themes. I had a huge space base that lived under my bed made of lots of baseplates and my own imagination. I'd build large space ships and have tons of fun. Fast forward to me being an adult, I found a few YouTube channels which do reviews/speedbuilds/MOCs/etc... and that renewed my interest. Then last September, while searching for some computer stuff at Best Buy, I stumbled across the First Order Star Destroyer Polybag, and…

Hello all! I would like to introduce myself. I live close by the mall and have seen how much of an investment Lego sets are. It's amazing knowing that there's a website like this which for somebody like me who has limited space but has tons of Lego sets to see what the scoop is. I'm just now building my portfolio but I was wondering out of the current sets available who around here predicts which sets might have the most value in the future. I'm also wondering if anybody is interested in trading for certain sets? I missed some of the awesome themes out there and was curious if anybody has any sealed Indiana Jones or Hobbit/LotR sets they would want to swap for?

I'm Jack single father of a 3 year old girl that is obsessed with trains. last month i spent 600 dollars on lego train sets which is probably to advance for her but she loves watching them go around. and I my self spent a few hundred on lego technic sets. I guess i joined up to get a little bit wiser about lego purchasing and investing. because it seems like i missed out on some really cool train sets and now i would have to pay over 600 for a set . anyway this is a awesome forum. also checked out a few lego sets i had when i was a child to see what they were worth today for fun not much lol since my mom never spent over $50 NZD for a …

Hi there, just joined. Well, I'm from Germany and doing things with Lego for a long time, but with 13 it was over since my C64 got in my house. I often got some parts during the years and made a good sortation, but didn't found real time for creating something bigger. But now I'm on a new project and I could need some help. Because I stopped at the sets 8862 and 8865, I'm still more a classic Lego user and don't really like the very high number of available parts. I'll stay with my Technic models with parts up to the year 1989, the year I bought my last Lego set as a kid. The most important parts are available till this time, and the sets are ageless. Think abou…
