10241 - Maersk Line Triple-E

I was looking at mine in my office today and I really admire this set. It is one of the most accurate LEGO sets I have built. It is a set that needs to be built. The box does it no justice. If you see this set in person, it sells itself. Problem is, many don't get to see it in person and many will ignore this set for sexier sets.

All we need is this set having a short appearance in "fifty shades of grey" and we will be just fine regarding sexappeal.

I still haven't built it and when I do it will be stickerless just because my fingers can't handle the patience to do that many and its hard for me to get them even.

Been stuck on 12 of these for awhile.  Backed off the past few months building up other sets as these were not moving around me so will have time to go back if that outlook changes.

I do like the set, always have just not sure how it will be perceived by others down the road.

I'm happy I have a few EEE, but I don't expect Town Hall gains. It really is a beautiful ship, and I think the appeal will be there long term, just not the huge audience.

No huge audience... maybe you are right. But I firmly believe the market for these is aimed at people who work or worked on ships (pensioners) and mostly they have quite some money to spend. At least here in Europe.

Very true.  I only have one of each of a few sets instead of 3 or 4 of each right now.  I'll build those up hopefully.  I just don't want to miss out on any possible sets that go eol.

I feel your pain. I have several of some large exclusive sets but there are so many available right now and I'm limited by storage/capital to having zero or one of some sets that I really like. And for those that I only have one of at the moment, the devil on my shoulder constantly whispers, "open me...build me."

My six HH still sealed mock me every time I walk by.

Which is exactly why the next Lego Ideas 80's throwback set should be a Love Boat!
