I was just reminded of these the other day after thinking about how many game tracks I've been posting. Some years ago I came across artwork done by this incredibly talented pixel artist named Paul Robertson. You may have seen his work in the video game for "Scott Pilgrim vs the World". Well before that and the upcoming "Mercenary Kings" indie games project, he did sprite animated clips like these amongst other pixelated works of art. They may not make much sense at all but then again it's not like most videogames made a whole lot of sense either. Anywho, I've had these in my list for a long time and felt like sharing them. Amazing animation and incredible pixel ar…

A friend/coworker is cleaning out his garage and he gave me a huge box of Lego today. I started going through it and it's an incredible quantity of stuff; Lego, Technic, Bionicle - probably 50,000 pieces. Mostly Lego but also some MegaBlocks and other stuff (which I'm separating out). Some of the Lego stuff is pretty old and it's all pretty dirty. Can anyone give me some idea of how to clean it? Thanks in advance for any suggestions/instructions.

Todd McFarlane's next line in his construction sets will be based on the weirdly popular series of attacking animatronics. I only just saw these not hearing anything about them prior for some reason. Anyway here is the official product page.

Read the article here: http://www.nerdist.com/2014/07/exclusive-todd-mcfarlane-on-his-upcoming-walking-dead-building-toy-sets/ I'm pretty disappointed in the sets. They don't really seem to be a building toy, and you can see why from this quote: "The thing the other guys do that drives me crazy is that the closer I get to their build the less believable it is to me. Because it starts to bitmap. I do the same thing on my computer

I'm kidding of course but a train model 140C will stay a couple of hours in my train-station to have some technical testing. (not this one but nearly the same model) I'm curious to see this thing for real. I'll take some pictures if it's nice looking.

Hey folks, July 3-5 is the show for brick fans in the area or tourists visiting Toronto. For more info click on the link below. I went last yr with my son, first time to a Lego show/exhibit and it was pretty cool...amazing displays and some vendors. General admission Sat or Sun is $5 for kids and $10 for adults. http://toronto.brickfete.com/

I usually have rainy days off from work, so my wife Jane and son Max decided to take a ride to the Freehold Raceway Mall to see the new LEGO store. I had a 10% off coupon to burn so I decided to buy the new 10240 X-Wing so I could compare it to the old 7191. I have to say, just from looking at the displays in the front window, I was not that impressed with the new X-Wing. What I was impressed with was the new 10237 Tower of Orthanc. What a wonderful LEGO model. Both sets are $200, yet the Tower of Orthanc was worth every penny, while the X-Wing looked like the old 7191. Now I'm sure the new X-Wing will still be a viable investment since many new fans do not ha…

Since presumably some adults on here are into vintage toys, there is a new show premiering on the Travel Channel on Wednesday April 10 called toy hunter. I would imagine there would be some mention of LEGO, if not it still looks like an interesting show. 10-9 central I believe is the time but please don't hold me to that.

I'm sure some of you have already walked down this path so looking for some advice/life experience here. What started as a simple Lego buy/sell hobby for me is slowly transforming into an online business (e.***. my online selling is slowly becoming less and less Lego and more into other toys, electronics, whatever I can find for cheap and resell online). As a result I'm sure the taxman might like to review my records after a couple of years "if" I do have a successful venture (I didn't expect to be able to break 2-3K in sales so fast on eBay in just a couple of months tbh so if I keep at a torrent pace of buying/selling I'm sure it will reach >10K in no time). So my b…

I picked up a SW advent calendar on sale today and I am torn between Opening it to add the figs to my collection or to keep it for winter resale. Same deal with my Tc-14 polybag. Help me sort it out in the polls!

I was very inspired by Team Trivia 3.0 yesterday. I thought it would be fun and informative to start a daily(?) trivia thread. I will post one Lego or BP related question each day. If you know the answer, please do not post it! You can PM for validation if you like. I will post the answer the following day. If anyone would like to add questions to the thread, feel free. Here goes the first question: What set(s) can you find this piece in?

Tron has got to be one of my favorite movie franchises. I absolutely loved the aesthetic put forth in Tron: Legacy. The unfortunate part, is that it's not a strong franchise. The movie did well, but the toy line was an absolute bomb. A complete disaster aside from the toy identity discs. The Tron: Evolution game, meant to bridge the two movies, was also poorly received. Even the Tron: Uprising animated series, which I personally thought was amazing, with a great cast, ended its season with a cancellation. All of this failure, however, I think was the result of some poor choices made by Disney. The toy line was half-assed and boring. The game was poorly marketed…

I'm trying to get some stamps for first class mail to ship out of France and the UK with self addressed stamped envelopes. If you are interested in making arrangements I would happily purchase some and pay for the time and effort.

So I preface this story with – part of me hopes it really was a scam, and all that happened was I was saved a massive headache. However, most of me believes this is true, which then becomes one of the biggest “one that got away” stories in a long time. So, I see a Craigslist post this weekend – two big LEGO sets - $800. I check it out and BAM! 10179 and 10030 being sold as together for $800. Immediately I think this must be a scam. NIB together for $800? No way. How about $4000+. So, not one to miss out on a chance at greatness in a box or some good detective work I send a reply that I’m interested, pay cash, etc… to the Craigslist email account. I get …

I'm looking to pick up a bunch of boxes since as we've said, it's selling season around the corner. My current boxes are a mish mash of different sizes, which is fine for used sets, but I need to safely ship mint boxes. I searched their site for a while earlier today and found some I like, but thought some of you guys that have bought from them before might have some tips for me on what sizes are preferred. Also, if there are any alternatives to Uline. I looked in another thread and someone mentioned getting boxes from Staples. Saving on shipping would be nice since it was estimated at $70 for what I was going to order, which was 150 boxes of differing sizes. Than…

To start with, I typically stay away from political topics but I think people should hear about this malarkey. Assault on the First Amendment: Joe Biden endorses a tax on blood and gore - WashingtonTimes Vice President Sees No Legal Hurdles in Enacting Sin Tax on Violent Media - GamePolitics Biden: No legal problem with taxing violent games - Gamespot I would add something of an opinion here but I am really in the middle of something else that needs attention.

Wasn't sure where this should go, so this seems as good a place as any! I was digging through my old Legos and adding them to my Brickfolio, until it was stumped by one of them. After some digging, it turns out that this was a 1996 promo item (can be found at peeron). Has anyone else come across this one? I think I got this on a transatlantic Singapore Airlines flight - at least I have a pretty vivid memory of getting Legos from them once. Would be curious to know if any of you have this set and where else it may have been distributed. Thanks!
