  1. I haven't bought a LEGO set in while but I'll probably be buying two or three a month.

  2. Here's a fun little game. How many retail locations are located in your immediate area? You define it however you want to, but my thinking is, where do you go to buy Lego on a regular basis? Not a road trip, but, if you're heading out from work, or heading home, what stores can you easily get to? For example, I live about 40 minutes north of the nearest Lego store, so I don't consider it in my immediate area. I wouldn't throw Walgreens or any other place that you hit once in a blue moon. But, Target, TRU, B&N, Fry's, Meijer or any other retail location you can think of. Here's my breakdown: B&N: 3 Walmart: 8 TRU: 3 Target: 8 Fry's: 1 Legoland: 1 (LL Californ…

  3. The answer is 37,112 times! A man built a contraption to test how many times two bricks could connect until they stopped connecting. It took him 10 days before they stopped connecting to each other. Link. This guy should now figure out how many licks it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll center of a Tootsie Pop. "The world may never know."

Hey guys/gals, I love love love the Star Wars planet sets. I love them so much I want to build some custom high quality acrylic displays. What I have in mind would allow you to display the LEGO set, the planet hanging properly, the box, and the coolest part is the instruction manual. These would be both stackable and/or hangable. These would also be built perfectly to display almost all battle packs or small sets in a similar manor. I have submitted my design to a couple of manufacturers and am curious if anyone else might be interested in something like this? So my question to the community is would you be interested in a "LEGO specific display" and if so how m…

I have read 10 or more sites giving advice on selling comic books, but I am still utterly confused by the best path to take. I have a stack of them from the 80's, and I looked most of them up on Ebay, and I have some, like GI Joes, that range in value (going by the current listings anyway) from $5.00 to $500.00 and up. I also have some random ones that look like I could list them for $5 to $10 and sell them in a lot maybe. I run into a quandary when I see the rated ones packed in plastic and displaying their grades. While this looks like the ideal situation, the cost of grading my collection does not seem price worthy. I see the benefit of having the 4 or 5 tha…

  9. I just saw this and I must say, it's pretty cool. My cousin mentioned it reminded him of running in old first person shooters (like Quake and Half-Life) and I must say, that is exactly what it looks like to me but with much better texturing of course. http://research.microsoft.com/en-us/um/redmond/projects/hyperlapse/

There is one thread specific to The Hobbit in regards to a person not liking the sets. What are some things you don't like Lego? I don't like Time Cruisers. It reminded me of a hodgepodge of parts Lego had lying around and putting weird sets together with them. Comeon Lego.

  12. I got a call Tuesday morning about a State Trooper in Chicopee,Ma asking me if a sold some Lego sets to a guy in that city, I said I guess, then he told me he has 2 sets with my name, and phone number. It was a SSDS $849 & Death Star $600 after checking my Fedex slips the 2 sets were bought in August 2016. So After Checking my paypal it did show they were bought by Stolen Credit cards, and paypal froze the $1400 but after a week or so I got my money back, as it was Confirmed address and Seller Protection. Now the trooper said the guy that owns the house said he saw a ad in cragslist saying he will pay $20 for each package that got delivered to his house. Then the guy …

  13. I stayed up and at 12:01 I refreshed the lego site page and saw the discount. I immediately put in the required info and now I've got a B-Wing, Han Solo and poster on the way for 104.00. I'm so excited about this investment opportunity.

  14. Went to the Lego Store today as I had a gift card, So I was getting 2 Grand Emporium's and another Volkswagen Camper, the girl said do you have any Coupons, I said yes so I used a $20 Coupon on each GE and the Camper. So then I went back to my car to see if I had anymore which I had 3 more, so I got 2 Pet Shops and a Batman Ayslum, which these 3 are the picture reciepts below, as the other 3 are still im my car, Just wanted to show a reciept that I was telling the truth, They were out of Haunted Houses as I would have gotten 2 more of them.So not sure why they took them and I didn't ask, and the guy next to me was paying for the Sydney Opera House and used a $20 Coupon an…

  17. Anyone else noticed the dozens of petcare software cds listed in the building toys category? They are all misspelled, and teach you useful things such as how to care for your eagle's talons. Apparently the seller will send you a random disc for the low price of 225 dollars. Buy while you can, the Lego store employees say they will be eol soon.

Hello all, I wanted to say high to everyone. Most people probably don't know me as I was one of the newer(ish) members to join about 2 plus years ago. Anyways, I still buy and sell Lego even though my current avenue of work has been WWII mocs for World War Brick which was held in Minneapolis. (Went to that one for my third straight year.) They also hosted WWB out of state in Anaheim, CA and Hartford, CT in 2015 as well. If want to check out some of my builds, please check out my Flickr account which is vikings_football28. (Link.) On a side note, we are doing a Lego Cologne On The Rhine Collab next year for WWB 2016. This collab depicts the famous Pershing vs. Panth…

Don't you hate people that spurt out "oh, LEGO is too expensive I'll just pick this cheap chinese knock off that's exactly the same! It's my way of getting back at Lego for taking my money!"? It gets so annoying having to tell them about the type of plastic lego uses, the exceptional customer service, the licensing fees, and the fact that Lego has to hire tons of creative designers and engineers to pump out the hundreds of lego sets they produce each and every year (and making sure things work smoothly in the back end to get to everybody's hands: investors and children alike). Yes they make record profits, but they make sure people d*mn well enjoy the experience of bui…

My free time has been limited but I always wanted to try what jaisonline does with sets, buying them on the cheap, building them, and reselling. Maybe you take a small loss or make a small gain, but its more about paying a low price to build. A personal pleygo, if you will. After seeing the incredible outpouring of support for the donation thread, I got to thinking why couldn't jaisonline's system work but with more people? Instead of people competing for cheap sets buy some as community sets, pass them around, and then sell once everyone has a crack at the build. I am thinking something along the lines of: 1) First, club members must be known, trusted, establ…

Hi everyone! I have been considering creating a monthly LEGO club for my son and other kids in our area. I am trying to look at ways to put one together. I know a lot of the groups just buy a bunch of legos and have the kids just come and build, but I really like the idea of them getting to build something to take home. I did see one group that did some of the mini builds and that is what I am really interested in. Use the past monthly mini builds and I would order all the bricks and that way they could make it and take it home and add to their collections at home. However I am coming across a problem because it seems as though most sets I spend a long…
