Hello all, I was lucky enough to stumble upon this great site after looking up some lego sets now that my 5 and 6 year olds are beginning to take an interest in it. This is a delight to me, because I've been wanting to revisit the days I built with lego bricks as a child myself. When my kids were babies I just let them play with the cheap mega blocks, but now that they are old enough to appreciate real legos, I'm ready to go all in. Personally I don't have an epic collection history with the brand. My parents didn't buy me a whole lot, but enough to keep me busy. My fondest memories are of a lego passenger plane I was given one Christmas in the early 1980's, and a c…

Okay, I'm new. Waddup? So I discovering different products and the all the prices increases they have made over the years, and thought I had the orginal idea that I could invest in legos! That was about a year ago. Turns out last week I was finally started looking at investing again and found that I wasn't the only one who had this great idea. Who knew? Anyhoo - built a couple of sets I had from a pile of legos I had since I was a kid. Turns out they were from 1986 and 1987 - used but fun to rebuild part of my childhood since my kids got to help me do it this time. This is a fun habit! So thank you for making a kick ass site and I'm happy to be here!

Badgerland Lego fan here. Have a 3yr old daughter and another child on the way. Digging the Legos right now w/ my daughter---she picks them out, I build them, and then we play together. Current faves are Friends, Monster Fighters, and then for me SW and LOTR/Hobbit. I don't mind picking up an extra set or two to hold onto, but we're definitely into building them. Long-time collector (it runs in my veins) of everything---first it was Star Wars as a child (70/80s--the classics), then baseball cards, then comics, then Star Wars again in late 90's, then baseball cards again, movie posters throughout this time, and now LEGOs---needless to say I know a thing or two about…

Hi Everyone, I have been lurking about since the beginning of the year when I ended my "Dark Ages" and started to acclimate myself to being an Adult Fan of Lego. This site has been very informative and I find myself logging in several times a day to read the forum and blog posts. For now my main interest is the Star Wars line and I have picked up a few sets when they have been on sale. My goal is to build up a nice collection for my two little ones who are 3 and 1 at the moment. Looking forward to learning as much as I can from everyone here! Brian

Hi. My name's Cesare and I write from Italy. I found this amazing site in a WIRED article. In fact I've never bought a LEGO set, I only played with a big box full of mixed bricks during my youth. (now I'm 37). But the passion still remains and an eleven month child makes me think about buy some in the future, and why not, join passion and investment!! Congraturations for the great site. Cesare.

ive always been fascinated with lego, but as a child growing up, i never owned many of them. i had 1 bucket filled with a various assortment of building blocks, both name brand and generic, but never specific lego sets. now that i have a son (only 7 months...not quite ready for legos...yet) i find myself looking at all the new sets muttering to myself "well,, ill get that one...and that one....maybe that one too." but i'm wondering do i want these for him, or for myself? so here's where my confusion sets in... where should i start with legos? not just as an investment, but also as toys for my son? there's just so many out there, i get confused. im not look…

Hi all, I've been on this site for a little over a month, but I never really introduced myself. I'm a 14 year old collector/builder. (Almost 15.) I found this site after seeing a Brickshow video and I've been hooked ever since. I live just south of the Twin Cities in Minnesota. My first big Lego set was the Jabba's Sail Barge and it is still one of my favorites. (I got it in 2007.) I've bought more and more Lego since, but I'm limited to a certain point because of money. I have a pretty small collection and all but a handful of the sets are not built. I buy/sell sets with parent permission so sometimes it can be hard to get a set. (: I also make some money selling cus…

Good morning all! Taking a cue from some recent posts, and since I spend way too much time on this site absorbing every bit of info that I can I figured that I would introduce myself as well. My name is Chris, and as you can tell from the title I live near Kansas City, MO. I am married and have three excuses to lurk in the toy aisles, I mean children. I was a huge fan of LEGO as a kid, I had the yellow castle and space sets from the early 80's fondly (still have most parts). I am scared to admit it, but the Friends line brought me out of the dark ages. I bought Olivia's house last year for my daughters (aged 7 and 5 1/2) and I to build. Once we completed it, I …

Hi guys, I never officially introduced myself, I just started posting random stuff and questions all of a sudden, so upon recommendation from some other members here, I decided to finally do it. I suppose I have never been in a "Dark Ages" since I am only 13 years old, it is hard not to have Legos somewhere in your life for less more than a couple months. My first sets were simple minibuilds with 2-3 minifigs and some of those Mars Mission and Jack Stone sets. Can't get enough of them! I found Brick Picker only about 2 months ago, right when I read the USA Today article that came to my hotel room door over winter break. When I read it, I was telling everyone tha…

Hi all, been on the site for a while but just started becoming active. I broke out of my dark ages back in July of last year when I purchased the UCS Imperial shuttle, pretty hard not to love that thing! I got back into Lego under the premise that I would only purchase UCS sets as a collector. However my interests have since expanded to purchasing modulars and LOTR sets for my collection/investments. Definitely looking forward to some great conversations/discussions!

Hi everyone, I recently bought a job lot of space lego from ebay (when looking for a complete set of the m-tron mega core magnetizer, which I owned and played with a lot as a child), and have since started checking out other lego being sold on ebay to see if I can make any money trading these toys I came across this site and it looks good, so I thought I should introduce myself in the forums. I'm 26, live in the UK and teach for a living. I was really into space lego when I was younger, and played with many of the different sets from the early 90s. I'm thinking of investing in some space lego, but mostly to do it as a hobby that pays for itself rather than to make …

I've been lurking for almost two months and thought I should say hello here before posting in the other discussions. My partner and I have two kids, 5 and 2 and our five year old took us both out of our dark period and now we're obsessed! We've got a 3' x 12' Lego city in our dining room (I can't seem to find a picture of it) that we let the kids play with (sort of, haha). We started investing in Lego in November last year (my first real investment purchase was the Maersk train) and shortly thereafter I found this great site. I echo the challenges of another poster who said investing north of the border is hard. We have no Lego stores locally, Amazon.ca does not ha…

Hi everyone. I came across this site just over a week ago and I can honestly say that the timing couldn`t have been better. Just so happens I`ve started buying into the idea of "investing" in the last 4-5 months and am looking to expand (like everyone else here I take it). Seeing as I am new to the venture, I`m wondering if there is any advice out there for a guy like me? Now, I`ve read a lot on here in the last week, but I am specifically wondering how to make the most bang for my buck with Canadian prices. Canadians pay a hefty amount more per set and it is rare where I am able to find any deals worth speaking off. These massive clearances that I here about down in …

Had some Lego during the much younger days. My favorite was the yellow castle, but alas, no longer in possession of any remnants of that. Sadly, have not followed the Lego sets for a long time, though still always loved my Lego. Want to start buying again. Started end of December with purchases of the Diagon Alley, Medieval Market Village and the Fire Brigade, as x-mas gifts to myself. Interested in collecting for personal enjoyment. But, starting to also be interested in collecting for possible investment. And this site looks like a great place to start and learn. Thanks everyone.

I've been collecting the Star Wars Lego sets for a few years now. I recently invested in a display case to show my collection. My wife and I spent the past few months rebuilding them all. Pictures at: http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/f0qdspze9hx29wpcel2mvjh1k366wmrb/ If there is a different forum to post collections in, let me know.

I've been a LEGO fan and collector since I was about 5. From all my childhood/teenage collections, LEGO sets are the only thing I've held on to across my moves (I grew up in India). Now I live within driving distance of Legoland California. The investing side to LEGO is interesting. Whenever I think of 'investing' and LEGO, I think of different types of investments -- the intangibles, such as quality play time, learning, strategizing, etc. which cannot be measured, and the more quantifiable monetary values. Glad to come across this site and like the focus on the practicality of LEGO collecting and investing. I look forward to the engagement and following, and part…

I was really surprised to find this site and I already love it. I collect LEGO and I appreciate to have another source for actual prices. In the next weeks I want to start with my shop where you can rent LEGO Sets in Germany (especially the high value sets like the Star wars UCS models and buildings and monuments that aren't available anymore). So it's good to know the actual value of these sets. Happy collecting Jens PS: please excuse my poor english language knowledge

Hello everybody, I just came across this site after deciding to listen to my gut instinct and use this years entire ISA (tax-free savings) allowance to buy over 100 lego sets this month! My favourite set are the WV Camper Van, Tower Bridge & Sopwith Camel. I bought these in quantity and are now in the loft unopened in waterproof containers. I'm just waiting for another delivery of Unimogs & R2D2s! I'm no spring chicken but, I'll be building some of these while the others hopefully appreciate over the next few years. Cheers James

I accidentally posted my message from my sons account. I set up three separate accounts so I could have three separate brickfolios (I didn't see how I could have three on the same account). I have one for myself and one for each of my sons. Is it possible to have more than one on the same account?
