Hello fellow brick maniacs! I'm Wazzapova and I am a new member. I hope to meet many of you along the way. My goal today is to go to the new store in Danbury, CT. I hope to be lucky enough to get the exclusive store set, but equally as important, to get a new spring stash of Lego!

Hello People I just began purchasing legos thanks to a friend here. Just wanted to introduce myself and look forward to buying/building some legos. I don't know if i should thank or hate the friend who introduced me to lego's as it looks like it might be an expensive hobby.

Hi all thought I would drop a hello message. Came across this website by chance and have to say it's just brilliant. My love for Lego seams to be growing over the past few months, loved it as a kid but appreciate it so much more as an adult. I guess it does help that I have patience to build and the money to spend on it. For me it has to be one of the most satisfying hobbies. Just need more room to display it:)

Hi there! My name is Roberto, I am 38 and I am from Italy. I have recently came out from my Dark Age thanks to my 2 and a half years old baby who loves his Duplo and (re)put me in the Lego frenzy after many years. I have started playing with Legos in the early '80s and still have some sets, Space and Legoland Castle mainly. I am also bricklinking a 10179, still waiting for a couple of orders coming so I should start soon! I have been lurking this forum for a while, so I thought it is good to stop by and say hi and thanks to everyone. I have read many discussions and I have decided some orders today, as I would like to invest in some sets from tim…

I just wanted to say hey to everyone! I just got out of my dark ages last year. I'm a work at home mama. I have three little ones under the age of four and an amazing husband that doesn't make fun of my new hobby! I'm currently working on flipping CL and yard sale finds to buy the more expensive sets. Excited to build with my little ones in the future!

Hi! My name is Mike and even though I signed up a little while ago I just now decided to introduce myself. I'm new to the world of Lego collecting, investment and online auction sites like Ebay. I'm from Wenatchee, WA. I became interested in Legos a few months ago when I was buying blind figure toys to decorate my shelves. One night I was at my local Hastings when I saw they had some Lego Series 9 blind figure packs and decided what the hell, I have never owned Lego as a kid, (too expensive), and didn't know they had blind figure packs. I was astounded when I pulled the heroic knight, the minifig had a lot of pieces and really good detail. When I was a kid in the 80's, if…

  12. Hello..first I'm Nick and I have a son who's 3 years old and loves Legos and so did I when I was young so we started getting into them and especially we're drawn in by the movie and minifigures to follow. We have bought countless amounts and still missing one in each of our sets(Velma) but I'm defiantly looking to move this to the next level. Seems almost impossible to find any of the good sets from movie on the shelves. So I'm looking to use this site as a guide of info on release dates and tip ****** tricks of collecting. I'm new to Legos but also a big hot wheels collector so I got the collecting background. Even though this seems to be completely different with invest…

Realized I never posted in here, I just registered and beelined it to the daily deals thread I'm a full blown lego addict and started collecting in the early 80's at the young age of 4 years old. I was a huge star wars fan as a kid (got hooked when my older brother bootlegged jedi on vhs) and always asked for classic space sets so I could buid the ships from the movies. Ironically 20 years later lego grabs the license and produces true lego star wars sets. But damn those dark ages, I just never looked at any of them and missed out on some good sets. It took getting married and inheriting a couple of great stepkids to finally pull me out of the dark age and bac…

  16. So been around now for a few weeks, and thought it was time I did one of these. Hi, I'm Keith. I am a dad to 2 wonderful little girls and husband to an amazing wife. I love Lego's, always have. I got back into Lego's last summer when my oldest (6 at the time) said she wanted to take a mindstorm robotics class for fun. After I picked up myself, from being blown away by how amazing my child was. I said sure thing, and then said a quick prayer that my wife would be OK with it. She was and we were off. My youngest is 4 and a Hugh Lego friends fan. (oddly nether of my girls like the princess ones, but love princess) Being that my wife is a Special Ed…

  17. Go Cardinals! Should be another great baseball year. A little about me. 42, Married, and I just acquired the best thing ever. We are adopting a little boy, Robert. He is just over 5 weeks old. Super stoked to finally have a building buddy. Although I have to admit this level of sleep deprivation was not forseen. Wow. Of all people my mom is responsible for bringing me out of the dark ages. I think it was 2009/2010 when she asked me to remove last few items from my old room before they moved. In my box of Lego I found classic space sets, vintage castle sets, and a nearly new in box 6285 Barracuda. The Barracuda I received as a senoir in H…

I recently retired from the corporate world and I'm only 40 years old so I'm looking for a new adventure. I have started collecting action figures and a good friend of mine told me that I should start collecting Legos. I have been on your site for the past 2-weeks and I'm shocked on all the stuff I have learned. I just started grabbing Star Wars Legos and some DC Legos but how do I find out when Legos are getting ready to retire? Probably only going to collect Star Wars, Super hero

Hello all Thought I should make my first post after joining a couple of weeks ago and spending several hours/days reading through lots of very intresting and informative discussions. I had always enjoyed lego and now my son is old enough to build sets we usually buy one as a treat for him to build and add to his collection. I would regularly check for announcements of new sets and also kick myself that I had thought about buying a set that has since been retired so thought maybe it may be time to start investing! I've no idea how exactly I stumbled across this site in particular but I am glad I did. I was amazed at some of the stockroom pictures! I have …

Hello fellow bricksmen, I am a dutchman living in Germany. Came out of the dark age a couple of months ago and started collecting at first and now I am into investing as well. My bank account is bleeding and my wife complaining. Hopefully this will change once i start to get some profits from my lego investments. My question is: Can anyone give me a short but thorough explanation on how selling on ebay works? I know there are a lot of posts already on this forum but somehow I still do not get it. Or maybe it is just me. Also some pro's and con's for selling on ebay are welcome. I started to sell on regional websites but with little success. Thanks in advance.…

Hi Everyone, My name is Khairul and I'm from Malaysia, started collecting Lego sets few months back. I'm thinking to start selling Lego sets in my country. I've sold few sets recently, sets I bought from Amazon. The problem is the shipping cost to Malaysia is quite high and it's prevent me to make a decent profit (negative margin for the last two sets I sold). Any suggestions how I can bring in Lego sets to Malaysia, and save as much as I can on the shipping? Current practice is sets I bought from Amazon delivered to my U.S address, wait for few sets to arrive and consolidate everything and shipped to Malaysia. Apology if my english hard for you guys to unders…

Hi, I'm new to investing and only really decided to invest/collect after buying a few of the UCS Star Wars for my son over the last year and was so impressed with the displays. My son has built and has proudly displayed a R2D2 (10225) a Red 5 X-Wing (10240) and soon (his 13th birthday is this Friday) a SSD 10221. In my investment collection which will remain sealed except for doubles where my son will get one when it's a birthday etc I have : 2x Red 5 X-wings 10240 - got 20% off R2D2 -10225 - No discount but I had to have a new one for myself after seeing my sons built one. 2x 75021 republic Gunships - got 30% off 2x Millennium Falcon 7965 - Full price…

Hi everyone! My name is Joe, and I am probably the noobs noob to lego investing/collecting. I recently got into this after introducing my 5 year old son to my love of Star Wars. I am 32, I am a Sailor in the US Navy (12 years now), a veteran of both Iraq and Afghanistan, and originally from Orange, CA. I bought a set here and there and it brought back all the childhood memories of building and admiring as a kid. Plus my son loves to watch me put them together, which is a huge plus. As I said I am totally new to this world. Currently my paltry collection only includes the 2013 Millennium Falcon, a Tie fighter, the UCS R2D2, the whole microfighters series NIB, 3x fu…

Hi all! Just wanted to ask a bit of advice. I started collecting a few lego sets last year after falling in love again (I never forgave my mum for giving away my lego as a child - ha!). I first bought a TB from the US as it was cheaper than the UK. After persuading the boyfriend to let me use his entire suitcase to transport, I was hooked. Since then, I've bought a few modulars and have now started to look at the super heroes sets. I just wondered whether you guys had any opinion on what to buy next (when I eventually get some more cash!) and whether the super heroes sets are a good investment or to go for more modulars. I'm looking at a little investm…

  25. Hello everyone, I was 7 years old when I received my first Lego kit, which was a universal building kit and since there were no Star Wars sets back then, I had a few Space themed sets. Thankfully, I never got rid of my sets and still have them all to this day. I have a 7 years old son and a 4 year old daughter and they are now finally old enough to have all of my old sets built now. I
