Hey folks. When I said on Eurobricks a couple of years ago that I was investing in Lego, the replies I got suggested that I was kidding myself ... but I continued buying and holding stuff MISB anyway ... and then I finally found this site the other day - quite the revelation! I'm not sure if it's healthy for me being here, since this site encourages me to spend even more on Lego, under the assumption I will make money from it in the future. I don't know if I'm deluding myself, but the stuff I bought three years ago has indeed gone up in value, so I guess I'll carry on spending and this site will help me pick winners, right? Other stuff: I'm 33, married…

Howdy! I'm Travis, a Lego enthusiast from the USA east coast. My favorite of the Lego themes is either Star Wars or LOTR. I just stumbled upon this website and being a fan of both forums and Legos, I was ecstatic. Just posted this to introduce my self.

Hi guys, I stumbled across this website just recently and can't get off it. I had been sold on the idea of investing in Lego long ago but never really did anything about it. Since reading some of the articles and content, I am going to give it a go. My dream isn't to make millions but rather to finance my Lego Star Wars addiction by buying a few sets per month to squirrel away until they become profitable. I was wondering if anyone else invests for this purpose and how they have found the experience?

Hey Folks, I am 38, getting back into legos now that my son is 4. Used to play them when I was younger, but mom gave them all away when I grew out of them. Started getting a few small sets for my son, and he is in love with the super hero series, and monster fighters. I got into investing--sort of---while at the Burlington mall shopping where I live in MA. It was hard to track down a Jokers fun house set--had to go to 3 different lego stores. Guy in Burlington who had held one for me, told me they were flying off the shelves, and would go up in value when they weren't for sale any longer. Started talking to him about a few sets I wanted myself, but we…

New member here. Living in Cambridge UK Just back into the little plastic bricks, after getting a camper van as a 35th birthday gift from my parents, about 4 weeks ago (that may sound weird, but i can assure you i am a relatively normal, functioning, member of society; 1 wife, 2 small kids, house, car, job etc). Current interests building-wise are big sets - just finished Tower Bridge. Currently bricklinking a Taj Mahal. Back in the day (1980s) i was mostly a city & pirates fan, with some technic thrown in. Investment-wise, i'm in the process of picking up modular buildings MISB, so far going back as far as the Fire Brigade. Also have 3 Tower Bridges…

Greetings from a recently new born lego fan ( 48 yr old male ) in New Zealand ... I am working my way through the modular series, Pet Shop , Fire Station etc, I am up to date now but have seen some people selling plans to build extra buildings, but they are ONLY the plans , you have to buy the parts yourself...I have no problem in doing this but just wondered who has gone ahead and bought plans, were they easy to follow, and the cost of buying the bits separately ? Thought and comments gratefully received. Thanks Brian NZ

Everyone seems to be introducing themselves lately and I never did, so my story, as concise as I can make it, is... I'm from chicago, the northern surburbs and have always loved lego, I used to have tons of sets, many large (star destroyer, statue of liberty, eiffel tower, lego man, darth maul head, etc.) One day I realized they were taking up too much room and I was going to college, so I sold them...this was my first ebay encounter. I realized I could make more money than I paid for legos (this was right after lego exploded a few years ago), I do love money, so I started searching craigslist for other people's legos and selling them. then I realized sealed s…

Hi Everyone, I have been lurking about since the beginning of the year when I ended my "Dark Ages" and started to acclimate myself to being an Adult Fan of Lego. This site has been very informative and I find myself logging in several times a day to read the forum and blog posts. For now my main interest is the Star Wars line and I have picked up a few sets when they have been on sale. My goal is to build up a nice collection for my two little ones who are 3 and 1 at the moment. Looking forward to learning as much as I can from everyone here! Brian

Go Cardinals! Should be another great baseball year. A little about me. 42, Married, and I just acquired the best thing ever. We are adopting a little boy, Robert. He is just over 5 weeks old. Super stoked to finally have a building buddy. Although I have to admit this level of sleep deprivation was not forseen. Wow. Of all people my mom is responsible for bringing me out of the dark ages. I think it was 2009/2010 when she asked me to remove last few items from my old room before they moved. In my box of Lego I found classic space sets, vintage castle sets, and a nearly new in box 6285 Barracuda. The Barracuda I received as a senoir in H…

Hello from Philadelphia. I went from selling sneakers in undergrad to selling comic books for the past two years. I wanted to buy some Harry Potter sets for my desk at work the other week, so I bought some and now I'm here. I'm mostly an online buyer because I live in center city, so I don't have a car to raid all the Target and TRU around. I pieced out 21108 and 76020 this past week and now I'm buying a few more sets that I'm reading about. Current investment is 2 x 79008 and 2 x 76000.

Hey guys, I'm new here. I've collected all kinds of things over the years, and I just learned about Lego collecting. It sounds interesting to me, and I'm especially interested in finding vintage sets and maybe even the first legos made. I'm writing a book about collecting, and thought I should try my hand at this. I have to confess that I didn't realize there was such a thriving population of lego collectors. I have a million questions...so I hope I can get over the five approved post hurdle soon. Regards, Steve

I was really surprised to find this site and I already love it. I collect LEGO and I appreciate to have another source for actual prices. In the next weeks I want to start with my shop where you can rent LEGO Sets in Germany (especially the high value sets like the Star wars UCS models and buildings and monuments that aren't available anymore). So it's good to know the actual value of these sets. Happy collecting Jens PS: please excuse my poor english language knowledge

Hi All, I thought it was time to emerge from the shadows and stop lurking. I have been a Brick Picker member for a while, but only started actively reading the Forum a few weeks back. I live in the Easter suburbs of Melbourne, and consider myself a Lego hobbyist. Trying not to become a Lego collector (I already collect books, and really don't have the room for Lego), or investor, though I my dabble a little utilising the good advice from the members here. My Lego history stems from a childhood filled with Lego, but then several years without it. I picked up some of the earlier Star Wars UCS sets to build and display, and occasionally grabbed new ones her…

Hello all, some may remember me and many probably will not. But after a long time away I have finally found my way back to the fold. Life happens sometime and work occupies us....that and the sheer upheaval when work tells you to move halfway across the nation . But I am glad to report I am back and life is now somewhat back to normal. Currently working at restarting my eBay store and starting the massive task of trying to catch up on the wide world of LEGO that left me in the dust quick. Anyway, just wanted to jot out a quick note re-introducing myself to the community and saying hi. - Vince

Hello all, I loved to build lego during my primary school time and recently picked the hobby back since my 5 yo daughter started collecting her friends collections. In Malaysia, there are just a few online resellers and I would like to know if there's anyone of you from Malaysia who's interested to setup an online store + social collaboration + collection showcase web site. I am a web developer who knows how to build an eCommerce website with social integration such as utilizing Facebook accounts. You may take a look at my recently launched project for my wife's beauty group - http://BEAUPROS.com (something like a smaller scale of LinkedIn for beauty professi…

Hello everybody, I got back into lego a few years ago after my 'dark ages', found this site a few weeks ago and frankly got hooked - particularly as I already like buying big expensive sets at sale prices, it makes it a lot easier to justify to the wife if I can call it investing Anyway, I look forward to taking part in your community

Hello Everyone, I found this site a few weeks ago after learning about some of the newer Star Wars sets. I started to research the secondary lego market, and was really blown away. There is so much to research! I'll be collecting and selling some, but hopefully I can make this hobby pay for (some) of itself. Also, I wanted to say thanks to all of those who contribute posts, it is super helpful for new members like me.

Hi everyone! I've been lurking on here for a couple of weeks reading, reading, and reading some more. I have been into Lego for a few years, but never really thought about investing in them until recently. My husband fully supports my Lego obsession although I think some of my friends and family think I'm a little crazy. Anyway, I appreciate all the helpful posts and look forward to reading them all.

Hello, my name is not really Piece Out Studios, but that's my YouTube channel, Facebook page, Twitter, SwapFig, Brickset, and Brickipedia name. I make LEGO Stop-Motion films and really like LEGOs! I have as many as 50,000 bricks in my collection, I think. I like to buy LEGO sets on sale (I mean, who doesn't?) and would like to also start investing too. I don't plan on really EVER selling the sets I currently own, but I do want to know what kind of sets I should start buying to make money from in a couple years. I know of one that I am certain will be big sellers in a couple years, Super Heroes 6862 Superman vs. Power Armor Lex! This set is great because it comes with a cl…

My name is oconnorj2015 and I just signed up for Brick Picker. I was directed to Brick Picker when looking for the new Lego Creator Blue Power Jet set#31039, and seen that you can look at certain sets, and the whole website looked very informing to me. It was a pleasant surprise since I've never yet heard about this website!. I was so impressed when I was first visiting this website, and you are given 3 complimentary set checks so you can try Brick Picker. I liked it and just setup a new account today about less than 25 minutes ago. I love this place so far, and will return as soon as I can!. Thanks, Jeremy
