So I was out today making my retail rounds, when I wandered into the Wally World clearance section... Lo and behold, there she was, a lonely Queen Anne's Revenge just waiting for me to find her. And only $79 too! Just goes to show, the best deals are found by getting out and hitting the streets!

One place where this forum seems to be lacking is there are very few posts about current Lego deals and sales. I usually have to visit other forums to find this information. Maybe we can change that by keeping this topic going. Here are some recent finds. Ninjago 9450 Epic Dragon Battle for $110.58 (8% off) at Amazon right now. http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-Ninjago-9450-Dragon-Battle/dp/B007Q0ON7S?SubscriptionId=AKIAJ7T5BOVUVRD2EFYQ&tag=camels-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B007Q0ON7S

I am considering ramping up my Bricklink selling efforts, but I am looking to get some advice first from some veterans before I take any serious plunges. Just wondering what some good strategies are, as well as what are the pitfalls to avoid. Thanks in advance!

A few sets I picked up recently at Walmart have a round golden sticker, on the front of the box near the set number. The sticker says "Oppenheim toy portfolio best toy award gold seal". I don't know if this sticker was put on by Lego or someone else. It looks okay, it doesn't cover anything important, but I am not sure it belongs there. Are these stickers undesirable from a collector or investor standpoint? Should I try to remove them if I can do so without damaging the boxes?

My previous best LEGO deal was the free Minifig that got stuck in the cart down at the bottom and my wife and I didn't know it until we got out to the car. Sure we could have (should have) gone back in to pay for it but I guess a little of my guilt was taken away by the fact that it truly was an accident and that we had just spent $750+ at the register on LEGO sets. Actually now I am feeling really guilty and I might have to go back to the store (months later) and pay for it Anyway todays LEGO deal tops that by far. I purchased set 6241 and 6712 from someone on eBay a couple weeks back as a package deal for $45 (the current value of these sets is about $60). Days late…

Hi any good sources to buy lego in bulk? and thus at a cheaper price? I see really good deals on eBay and Amazon, which however sadly do not ship to this side of the world. Would be great if anyone has advice or suggest a shop which does international shipping. Thank you!:)

Hey all, just wanted to say Happy New Year to all and this got me thinking. What was the Lego.com discount schedule for last year? Do they typically repeat offers about the same time every year? It sure would be helpful planning if we knew a little more about what they typically do, even if there are no guarantees of what they'll do this year. I know that (Ed or Jeff) Brickpicker had a great article about how to take advantage of the site, but combining that with a little planning could do well for all of us. Thanks in advance, history buffs! Jim

I was just wondering at what point do you think a set is discounted enough to buy? I recently bought the "Escape from Mirkwood Spiders" at a 20% discount and it dropped another 10% the following week. I wanted the "Attack of the Wargs" but didn't buy it at a 20% discount because I was waiting for a 30% drop. It never came and is now back to the regular price. :(

I am curious as to where you long-timers think the best place will be the day after Christmas for sales. I live in a small market area with just one Target, two Walmarts, and a crappy low end Toys R Us (and a Kmart that ALWAYS seems to have stuff on clearance or BOGO offers). My Walmarts must have a pretty good sell through rate because I never see anything on clearance in them. Anybody have thoughts or suggestions based on previous experience? Thanks!

I purchased 3723 LEGO Mini Figure over the weekend for $168 shipped. Used with Manual. I am totally stoked about this because I have wanted this set forever. I see it is slightly lower than avg value. Trust the seller and the photos looked good. But the better deal is I scored a 10030 for $360 Sealed from a lady who had 3. I thought it might be a scam. I emailed her and she wrote back saying her father passed away and he bought 3 of these and 3 10188's for the boys in the family. But she decided to sell them because the boys said they didn't want them. There are no pictures so I really don't know what to expect. Just hope I don't get scammed. She had 6 seperate listing…

I was able to order 5. Hopefully not so many were sold as to render them lower in value. Currently selling for $130 from third party sellers on Amazon.

And this is pretty obvious to those who have been out and about quite a bit the last few weeks, but the holidays have really cleared out a lot of the stragglers in the Lego aisle. There used to be remnants of Atlantis, Alien Invasion, PotC, '11/'12 Creator, Harry Potter, etc. left in the Walmarts, Targets, and TRUs of the world, but the holidays have pretty much cleared all that out. Those last sets you were trying to pick up cheap when they went on sale are pretty much all gone. I was even at my local Barnes and Noble yesterday looking for a book and the Lego was pretty much cleared out there as well. 2 weeks ago, they were stuffed with it. Bottom line, if you …

Happy December! It's that happy time of year when desperate parents pay ridiculous prices because they waited to buy that Lego set that sold out. I thought it would be good to start a thread where we can track what sets are spiking so that if you need to cash out on a few sets, you can make the best decisions. So far, I've sold my 4204 The Mine sets that I picked up on the $40 Walmart pricing error. They went for ~$140 apiece. At retail price, not the best profit, but I only bought them to flip quickly so I was happy with that one. The 9455 Ninjago Fangpyre Mech is trading at around $35. Again, not the biggest return on retail, but I picked up a bunch of these …

Just wondering if the dock workers strike in So. Cal. is having any effect on Lego LEGO Shop at Home running out of inventory and pushing back their estimated promise dates? Some items that were supposed to have been in on Dec 1 are now showing Dec 23rd.....

Hi folks, I've only sold two LEGO sets, but have had a lot of experience selling collectible playing cards (MTG) on eBay. I've found that "buy it now" tends to give the seller more money than an auction listing, if the value is reasonably predictable. I assume the really rare stuff would be better sold as an auction, but I don't have any of that. Anywho, how does Amazon or Bricklink compare to eBay, for the seller? Please include factors like fees and selling tools. Thanks! EDIT: sorry - the poll should be "Bricklink" not "Brickset."

Does anyone have any order being shipped by UPS? I have one package from TRU and another from a seller on craigslist that show no tracking information. Is anyone experiencing the same problem? For obvious reasons this makes me nervous. The seller from craisgslist actually sent me a picture of the packaging slip (this time I paid with paypal) and I have no idea what is wrong with the TRU package other than it is getting sent via UPS Mail Innovations.

Hello I was wondering how many out there actually treat their reselling as a legitimate business. The reason I ask is this: Since I am purchasing LEGOs to resell (at some point!) and I charge sales tax on my purchases, shouldn't I be allowed to use my reseller's license to avoid paying the sales tax myself? Anyone ever tried this with LEGO directly?

So I purchased a bulk lot yesterday for a school holiday activity I'm running - mainly for the random mix of bricks and bits which can be hard to replicate piece by piece. The photos of the listing were terrible but I took a punt. Happy with the contents at initial glance - a stack of knights kingdom stuff (including 2 castles) and spotted a few indications of spiderman which turned out to be doc ocks hideout. Probably worth four times what I paid on those bits alone ! Further digging last night revealed fire and police stations, a very cool rescue helicopter plus more smallish city sets, exo force and a tiny bit of star wars just in the bulk lot. Pretty happy with that, …

Hey All, I have the unfortunate task of selling my dads collection! I had someone advise me to sell the minifigs separate and then just sell all the sets as lbs of bulk pieces. I was wondering if that is really the best route considering half of the sets are discontinued. The majority of the sets are Star Wars but also include many others. Discontinued sets are of the old clone wars era, Hoth, and Ewok, and some specific ships. Before I list anything, i was just wondering what some more expert opinions are. Condition of all sets are that they are displayed in varying combat scenarios or hug as if they are flying in a dedicated space. They are all well car…

First off, I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this! I'm taking a trip this winter and I'm letting my Statue of Liberty go to cover some of the cost. I will be posting it on Ebay in a few days, but I figured I would post a heads up on Brick Picker first. (I'd really like it to go to a good home) Few details on the set. My fiancee is the original owner, she has had it ever since she was a kid. It is currently on display in our bedroom. It is a used set, but 100% complete. The instructions are severely damaged, but all there. It seems to be water damage. The cover page is torn off, but besides that all intact. No box. I have included a few pictures of the…

I always thought that "drop shipping" was a derogatory term but I don't think it is really. I guess it is in the way we use it on this website but I was looking at at a golf related item on Ebay and the listing clearly stated that the item would be drop shipped. Just something I found interesting, not sure of its educational value though lol
