I found an interesting page, which says the following:

Retiring dates:

2017-12-31 - Simpsons, Mercedes Arocs, SHIELD, Parisian Restaurant, Tower Bridge, Minecraft Village, Mini, T1

2018-12-31 - Ferrari F40, Fairground wheel

https://www.retrotoys.eu/LEGO-10248-Ferrari-F40

Wow, i think those dates could be credible:

We know the Winter Train will be here until xmas 2018, so that matches: http://www.retrotoys.eu/LEGO-10254-Karacsonyi-vonat

The creator 3 in1 without the borders will be retiring this year, and these match: http://www.retrotoys.eu/LEGO-31045-Tengeri-kutatohajo#page_artdet_tabs

http://www.retrotoys.eu/Lego-31052-Hetvegi-kiruccanas#page_artdet_tabs

Same with the green label Speed Champions sets: http://www.retrotoys.eu/LEGO-75871-Ford-Mustang-GT#page_artdet_tabs

And the CLAAS Xerion if it follows the typical Technic lifespan: http://www.retrotoys.eu/Lego-42054-CLAAS-XERION-5000-TRAC-VC#page_artdet_tabs

However all the Rogue One sets have December 2018!!!!

I don't buy it. Looks to me like 'educated' guesstimates just because the web store software that is used needs an end date filled in. When the date changes they adjust them on the fly. And with all guesses floating around online, in many different places, some will just happen to be correct while others are missing the mark entirely.

When even Lego Store Managers regularly don't know retirement dates and just make guesses which then get invalidated in practice, I am not putting any value in a 3rd party toy store / Lego reseller betting knowing those retirement dates!

Yes most likely guesstimates based on history.  I can't see Lego retiring Parisian Restaurant this year as well.

That website has removed all the end dates now:

Taj Mahal remake in january 2018 ??

No way.

First of all, eifel tower and liberty statue are older, much more famous, and their older design needs a remake much more urgently  (especially liberty statue is old fashioned + it is a landmark from biggest lego market).

Second, there are many key landmarks waiting for lego set, why the hell would TLG remake just few years old landmark??

Third, january is not a release date for landmarks.

If they make new taj majal, we can through out all investment habits and invest rather to sugar or chocolate, since the production logic would be definitely unpredictable.

LEGO... please start putting the weights on boxes as 5% of us aren't stupid enough to fall for higher piece counts! OK, OK, OK... you need to hide the "Disney Tax" somehow.
