I recently begin using Bricklink to acquire pieces for some custom modular building. I am primarily doing this to make a larger more diverse lego city to display. These custom modular buildings are not cheap when compared to the official modular buildings. Outside of setting up my own Bricklink shop and selling off the pieces, do you think there will be any chance of profit/break even by ebaying off the entire building in the future?

I'm flying to Warsaw this Sunday for couple of days so if there is any interest among BrickPickers I can get couple of boxes to my check in luggage or I can buy bulk and dispatch with courier to London, which will be much easier for later distribution within mainland or western EU. I don't know how much of these are available right now in Store but I can estimate now in about 10-15 boxes. I'm coming back to London by 2nd of June. RPP for this set in warsaw lego store is eq of 25GBP If you are interested drop the line here or PM me. If You are from US, Australia or any other country and you are eager to pay shipping costs from UK - be my guest. https://brickset.c…

So unfortunately have to move and been searching for tips on how to pack/move numerous large assembled sets (UCS/Creator Experts/etc). Not sure bubble wrapping all these sets and purchasing plastic bins like I'm seeing in google searches is most cost effective, but wanting to know from the experts here. I'm also hesitant for the moving company to be careful with these so figure I'd have to pack my car, but wife looking at me all crazy since she doesn't believe these are a priority =). It's a 6hr drive and even debated making a couple of trips in the 5 day span. Any advice? Much appreciated!

Sold a Helms Deep locally to a lady last week, she mentioned she has a young son looking for it...I added one of those cheap Galaxy polybag from last year as a freebie. Different theme I know but the buyer was very appreciative with the gesture. Made decent enough margin already on the flip so might as well. And today, made a package deal on local ad, $200 cash for: $200 Indigo gift card (verified), Getaway Glider, Melting Room and Cloud Cuckoo Palace. Nice deal already I thought. The seller threw in 2 Lego Movie polybags as bonus Guess I mentioned my 4yr old son and she was being extra nice. My son was happy. Told him the 3 sets are gifts for his cousins …

I'm going on holiday to Disneyworld in a few months, is there anything that would be better to get over there rather than the UK? I'll be going to the Lego shop in Downtown Disney and also the Legoland. Have booked an extra 25kg suitcase for the return trip Thanks Mark

Hey everyone, I wanted to run an idea past you guys to see if you would find it useful. I have developed a service that runs every fifteen minutes on my computer and checks whether every non-retired LEGO set is available. If not available, it changes my database to reflect that and sends a text message and an email to me to alert me of the retirement. It has been working well and accurately for the last 4 months (when I first developed it). I was curious as to whether anyone else on this forum uses a similar technique and whether you guys think this is a good idea for a program. Also, the obvious bottom line question is whether anyone thinks this kind of idea is wo…

Google is looking to cash in with a new "buy now" button that will challenge Amazon's "one click ordering" feature. http://www.wsj.com/video/google-preps-shopping-site-to-challenge-amazon/93250872-9A36-44C5-BC59-98849EBC0E19.html

Anyone use this? Is it safe for a buyer? I was looking to make a purchase over at bricklink and noticed the seller only takes google wallet and Westion Union transfer. The store just opened on the 4th too. Does google offer the same type of protection as paypal?

Hi guys, I have an ad on CL offering to buy LEGO sets, a guy sent me a list of new, sealed sets he wanted to sell and I responded with what I thought were some pretty low prices and he accepted (see below) 6031 - $18.50 6236 - $14.00 7115 - $15.00 each (2) 2539 - $6.00 6013 - $15.00 each (2) 1266 - $5.00 6020 - $15.50 6105 - $20.00 6033 - $7.00 4930 - $8.00 6045 - $15.00 3052 - $70.00 3051 - $30.00 7161 - $57.50 4805 - $15.00 -He also sent me a pic of all the boxed sets on what looks like a basement table. Are those prices I quotes fair for the items? Does this seem to good to be true? …

So I started on a mad frenzy of a superhero mini figure collection today. Buying all kinds on brick link and eBay. I was putting together a prototype of a display and going through mine and my dads boxes of LEGO for pieces I could use to sit the figures on, and I come across a large bag of something that immediately catches my eye. What seems to look like a whole bag of night wings from Arkham Asylum. As well as batman masks and joker heads. I nearly fell over. I ran upstairs to ask where did we get these??? My dad would never have anything fake. After asking, he tells me "Oh yeah, Lego sent me those as a favor for when I hosted Lego night at our local …

Was just wondering people's thoughts on whether there is any added value in listing/selling sets in themed group. What do I mean by this? Just say you have all the City Mining sets, ie 4200-4204+poly. Is it better to sell individually or to sell as a complete set? Anyone had any experience with this type of thing?

Hi guys, Like many i've come out of my so called dark ages quite a while ago. I started "small" and bought a ucs at-st like 2 years ago followed by a ucs imperial ship. I then had sort of a cold spot until this year where i managed to bricklink a 10179 falcon (cost me about 600 euros). Now i love building lego even though my gf almost gets crazy when i order some (lol) but i also think it really is a good investment. However, given the price tag of many sets, one has to think twice about pilling them up in a closet for hypothetical gain later... So this may come as a dumb question on this site but has anyone actually made some good benefits with inveting in lego? Is…

Hi there, I know this will vary by set, but there's so much data out there now, I was wondering if anyone had done an analysis to see when a set peaks/levels out. It seems like the anecdotal evidence says about 2 years after retirement, but would be interested to read if anyone had anything statistical. Thanks! TNB

Hey ya'll, I have the opportunity to buy 6393 and 951 both sealed. I don't truly know what the value of either is. There were no sealed 951's for sale on the internet that I could find, and the only 6393 that was sealed on bricklink was in pristine condition and going for 3,000 USD. Have any of you seen them sell anywhere in the past? Quite interested in these sets but don't really know how to price them. (The Brickpicker values are not correct at all). Thanks

So i went into Wal-Mart the other day and was picking over what stock they actually had on their shelves, and i ended up leaving with two 8092 (Luke's Landspeeder) sets. Anyways, i look over the boxes quickly to make sure nothing was wrong with them i check out and get home. I put them down and don't look at them until yesterday night. Anyways, i look at the one i am going to open up and then i notice that the factory tape had been opened and then resealed with scotch tape. I figured this can't be good so i open it up and of course the inside doesn't match what's on the outside, and i find instructions for a DC Superheroes set and three random bags of unrelated sets. Need…

I was thinking about starting my own website and was wondering if anybody on here has one and if they could give me some advice. Is it worth it? How many customers do you average per week? How much inventory do you need to have in order to start one? Thanks for your time! -Derek

Well, not too big. I live rural (in Idaho) and have limited choices of retail stores for shopping/clearance lego. I am heading on a business trip next week out of Boise, and wondered the best way to plan for finding clearance stuff? I'm looking at 4-5 walmarts, 3-4 targets, and 2-3 TRU for example. Just hit them all and grab heavily discounted stuff? I haven't quite figured out the Walmart app for checking stock

My job sends me across the pond to the UK to work with some companies we purchased a little while back. Its always fun to see how things are done in different countries. Well, luckily this year I got come over during the Olympics and got to see some of the excitement it has brought to the city. I am especially lucky that I was able to come here and finally experience Argos for the first time and grabbed a bunch of Olympic Minifigs for me and Ed. Hopefully I got enough that will allow us to get two full sets or I may have to request to comeback and finish some "work" here
