Hi, I have recently started using the Lego Digital Designer to build a waterway for a pirate ship set I have. I am finding that some of the pieces that are in the Lego Designer program are hard to locate. I am using some blue transparent plates to help make the water, and I have having a hard time finding anything like it on Pick-A-Brick through Lego. I also know of Bricklink.com, but through a few searches I haven't found any there either. Any suggestions for finding these bricks after I get my design finished? Thanks.

Looking for ideas on sets I can procure a decent amount and variety of tan and brown pieces from.. obviously if the sets are readily available, that would help. Jabbas Palace is the only thing I can think of, but not sure those minifigs would recoup enough of the purchase to make it worthwhile.

  6. I am kind of interested. I know this is an investing site so there will be more people who bought one to resell than to build - but I want to see the skew. Who specifically bought one to build and did just that?

  7. Started by comicblast,

So I recently acquired a used 7150 TIE Fighter & Y-Wing set, and was putting them together to figure out what pieces were missing. While I was putting together the TIE, I came across a funny looking piece... Knowing my LEGO bricks, I knew that this one had to be a mistake. I won't be sending this one back to LEGO, as it is obviously a very rare occassion, but I'm curious if this has ever happened to anyone else. My guess is that the plastic injector ran out of plastic, so the mold wasn't completely filled. Enjoy the pictures!! (Anyone notice my play with the title? EuroBricks, Error Bricks? Haha.)

Just a random thought but when (if) you display your sets, do you separate the yellow minifigs from the flesh ones? Say you have Star Wars, Harry Potter, etc. sets that some of the early licensed sets used the yellow while the newer ones used the flesh... do you display them all together? Maybe it's just my OCD but when they're all together it looks... weird.

I am slowly building my own City in a spare room I have. I was contemplating putting in real water in certain places for boats, fountains, pools, etc. Does anyone know if being in water long-term does any damage to Lego pieces? (Btw I would only use bottled water)

  11. I was thinking about Bricklinking a 10179 at one point, and if you don't know, the Lattice pieces in the back cost about $320 for ONE PIECE of Lego. What do you think? What is the most you would pay for one piece to complete a set? I would just use a substitute. Assuming it didn't make a huge difference, I would spend maybe $20 on one piece before I went elsewhere. What about you all?

  12. How do you all buy your sets to build and why? I generally gravitate towards used sets put together that are complete. Cheapest way to get them and I have no problem disassembling them and putting them back together? How about it? Make sure you say why!

  13. i don't know the seller (out of Poland) but do know when building 10179, this element can get expensive and is often needed. Seller has 10 available. feedback looks "ok". it seems they have been selling 10179 elements since last nov. does the radar dish look "legit" ? i don't have 10179 so i'm no help. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Star-Wars-Millennium-Falcon-10179-part-/121159751532?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item1c35af176c they sell for much more on bricklink. http://www.bricklink.com/search.asp?itemID=76248&colorID=86 here is what the actual item in ebat looks like.

  14. I'm about to finally start planning/organizing for my Hollywood Studio Backlot. I have a list if a bunch of parts that I need to order from bricklink. My question to all of you: do you purchase new or used pieces when working on a MOC. I would love to save some money, but I dont want the pieces I use to look beat up (the pieces from my childhood are not even beat up). Do you guys rely on one condition brick, or do you purchase both new and used?

So I thought I would start a thread where we could share what we got in our PAB cups, similar to the one on Eurobricks. Pics would be great, but if you just want to say what you got that would be cool as well. If you are new to PAB and want to see how to maximize space, check out my blog article here: http://community.brickpicker.com/blog/4/entry-242-pick-a-brick-cups-can-you-pack-an-investing-punch/ I thought I would kick it off with the two large cups I bought today. There's actually a bit of a story behind this. So normally the cups are $19.99 each in Canada for a large, but when I bought mine I was looking at the bill and I felt like it wasn't enough (in addition…

  18. Alright so I just got a couple of bins that include 10 Star Wars sets assumed to be complete. What is the best way to sort them? I have never done it before. Sort them by color all at once, then try to put them together? Just build them one by one out of the bin? Try to sort the obvious pieces first and then just sort them set by set? I am a bit lost. lol.

Hey guys and gals I wanted to know if anyone has had any experience in building a stadium? Honestly I'm really not sure where to begin. Not even sure how big I would like it. I'm thinking similar to a modular in relation to approximate size and brick number. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

So today, July 25th, is my mom's birthday. She knew I was going to get her something LEGO related and had originally wanted the Cinema Palace since I'm in college for Film. However, she hasn't built a LEGO set since I was about 4 or 5 years old. I thought a 2000 some piece count would be slightly too advanced for her right now, but I still wanted to get her a larger set. So, since today is Christmas in July I decided to play up that aspect hardcore. First I wrapped the set: Then I gave it to her: Her reaction was great, haha: I think she is going to have a blast building this set. I would normally build a set th…

Decided to make a little challenge for myself, wanted to make a Lego Bonsai having seen some very impressive MOC's, saw that 79002 was discounted and though "oo thats got a lot of leaves and brown bits" the other set that I looked at as a possible one to try it with was 9436 The Werewolf but thought it was a little low on the brick count and didn't have much "rock" so I guess I'm throwing it out to anyone else that fancies a single set challenge, Either 79002 or 9436. Build a bonsai tree and show it off. I've been working on one but I'm still not happy with it, looks too much like a bunch of bricks still.. I'll need to redesign

Has anyone remade market street by buying the pieces and using the online instructions? Its 1200 some odd pieces just wanted to know what was the ballpark price you paid for the pieces? How many different places did you go to buy the pieces? How hard was it to find the pieces? This would be my first time doing this. The original is just too costly and you could add your own twist of color to it. Any other advice would be appreciated. Thanks for your help and input.
