I've been watching Black Gate's clearance at Walmart, and stock seems to be dwindling. I had 4 at the one closest to me and they all sold over the weekend. There are still a few lingering around in the GTA, but at $65 it hardly seems worth going store to store to get them. Amazon has them for %20 off at the moment PMing Futureshop or Bestbuy's price (can't remember which). Black Gate and Council of Elrond are the only 2 sets i have not been able to find at a decent discount yet for the LOTR line (Minus Orthanc of course), but i'm not too worried about Council right now as it is a cheaper set. %20 isn't terrible, but i'd rather bite at %30. Obviously this set still s…

http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/canada-revenue-agency-paypal-1.4403027 PayPal operates as a legal bank entity in Canada so this was inevitable ... but maybe they should fix the tax laws businesses use to avoid paying taxes instead of going fishing.

http://pages.ebay.ca/sellerinformation/news/fallupdate16/ I've only skimmed it so far... looks pretty benign at first glance. Anyone else have good or bad things to say? I just started listing items for sale again this week (sold 2 Technic sets the first day) but traffic seems to be pretty slow.

The coupon code is 941612846. Says it's good on toys and much of the Lego is on sale. Might stack nicely but unfortunately their mobile site scums and won't show me more than 10 sets.

Perhaps amazon.ca is finally getting ready to start rolling out better deals! Quite a few nice deals at 35% off - I'm tempted to actually get an amazon.ca credit card with the hopes that future deals will be forthcoming. I can't see how they wouldn't want to expand their toy section in Canada.... My picks out of the deals: Ariel's Magic Kiss, Cargo Truck and the two small Castle sets (for my nephews & a couple for me to build)

This item came back in-stock. Apparently it is retired in Europe as reported by others on BP. Last chance for us to pick up this set at retail? http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=21934606

Just wanted to point this out, TRU has another sale on all of the titled themes starting tomorrow. The key words are "Up to" unfortunately, so we`ll have to check the site tomorrow or wander in store to see exactly what is being discounted. Not great, but who knows, someone may be able to score something. He`s the link to the flyer.

Ok, not the deal of the year but if you're Canadian and prefer not to buy internationally for various/whatever reason...this is cheapest so far especially since it's an Target exclusive. Always wanted one for personal collection and glad I waited for a discount. I just bought 4. Retails $49.99 and now $39 plus taxes and minus 5% red card. Cool looking set any LOTR fan would love.

Just to let you know, at my local LEGO Store in Laval, there are discounts on a few sets that are NOT on discount on shop.lego.com. For instance, some of the smallers sets of Super Heroes line, a few of the TMNT sets and some Friends sets (including Olivia's House 3315). The discounts are 20% off. Of course, no discount on exclusive sets...

Looks like 20% off LOTR, Hobbit, and Monster Fighters. Barrel escape is $43.97 online, for anyone looking to pick up any of those. Nothing great, but certainly better than what we`ve had the last few weeks.

Looks like 20% off select Chima, Ninja Turtles, Hero Factory, and Technic. Also the flyer says "Save up to $10 on all Lego videogames" and they are also giving away a FREE Lego Movie poster with the purchase of a DVD or Blu Ray! EDIT: Also 50 airmiles for at least $50 dollars spent as well. Thanks lobo1969! So basically nothing yet again...

Seems like the US Dollar is slowly strengthening against the loonie (I was facing a 1.03 exchange rate a couple of months ago and now it's slowly creeped back up to 1.07-1.08). While I welcome this move as it makes it even more profitable selling back to the Americans, it really sucks for us as it's going to be more and more expensive buying Lego from the states and reselling back to Canadians.. *sigh* Thoughts?

Hey Canadians, just a heads up Canadian Superstore has ALL Superheroes and Ninjago on for 20% off. This includes all new Superhero sets. Not an amazing deal but if you're looking for some deals on the new sets this isn't bad. Lego selection at my local store is poor but i imagine some might find lots to look at their respective stores. Also my local store had a massive general toy clearance going on, shelves and shelves of random toy clearance. Might be worth checking out! have fun

If you need something last minute or for personal collection/gift that is not on sale anywhere else...use promo code TWENTY for 20% off one regular priced item. Too bad it's not 25% promo...I would buy more stuff Remember to sign up/use Plum Pts...adds up. I always like the condition of sets and reuse the Indigo shipping boxes. I looked at the Lego section and nothing really jumped out at me. Would love to buy some SuperHeroes sets but already have enough to build at home and will wait longer for investing purposes/better deals.

Has anyone heard anything about a potential price increase for sets in Canada next year? The Canadian dollar is extremely week, yet for many of the larger sets is actually cheaper in Canada versus anywhere else in the world when converting pricing to USD. For example, the Porsche retails for $300USD in the US or $350CAD in Canada. Yet when you convert $300USD into $CAD the price converts to $400CAD (right now Canada is the cheapest place in the world to buy this set when comparing USD). Does anyone expect any price adjustments in the near future or is this just a story of economics where a Porsche set probably wouldn't sell to well at $400CAD...? (Note: The…
