I'm afraid that I don't have any clearances to report with the start of this thread. I was curious if anyone had any idea of when last years summer clearance reports started rolling in? Are there any sets that should be clearanced out this time of year in favor of the new sets getting the shelf space?

Based on recent sale prices this one seemed like a steal for being found randomly on shelf. I was Leary about the $25 price tag thinking it was a mistake when I saw the original $90-something peaking through. Worst case my son and I have a nice "little" set to build once he's old enough.

Newbie here. These are available as site to store at a couple local stores. $34.97 for the batwing and $29.97 for the spidey set. What are the odds they actually have them available to pick up? It lets me add them to my cart. Also are these a good investment? Lego.com says they are both retired.

Found a MF Vampires castle for 69.00. What is your thoughts on this price? Should I wait to see if it falls lower or go for it? Thanks!

So I hit 7 walmarts over the last few days...my normal hunting route. Most have been reset. ALL have doubled their lego shelving space...which is great news...lego is growing in popularity! One odd thing...none of these have EVER stocked lone ranger.....only target, lego, and disney stocked it around here....until now. After disney blasted out their junk at 50% off..most targets did as well on most sets. NoW? Walmart decides to stock every LR set 5 deepx2 slots? Hello, I am from Istanbul. Here in Turkey, the LEGO prices are like 3-4 times more expensive than in the USA so I always buy from BL or eBay but this time I am planning to buy a big amount of sets. The Walmart prices are really great but stores like Walmart and Target don't offer international shipping. So is there a way to buy from Walmart and forward it here? Please help me. Thanks, Deniz

When the Jabba fiasco started, I was skeptical that this was really the end, but I went up to a local Walmart and bought 4 just in case. When it ended, I returned 3 of them and kept the last one to build. About a week ago, I found one on Ebay for way less than retail, so I purchased it. So today there were obviously a ton of sets sold at a fraction of a price of what they were supposed to go for...Walmart's Christmas stock on some items is gone before we even reach Dec. (Ok they will prolly stock most of them again before then but they had to have taken a huge blow.) Other retailers selling the same sets prolly also took a blow due to price matching.....I know they only price matched a little while but still enough sets had to have been price matched for them to stop. I finally found some polybags at my Wal-Mart again and, like last time, found some good ones! Gandalf at Dul Guldur (30213) (previously at Toys R Us) Batmobile (30161) (previously at Target) Razcal's Double Crosser (30254) Z-95 Headhunter (30240) No idea how long these will be around for. In fact, a friend of mine at Wal-Mart said that they won't be getting anymore of them, which means when the current stock is gone that's it! Again, Brickset states that each one was supposed to be available at Wal-Mart in February. Don't you just love their distribution system?

Have a feeling you will still get deals. Watch Ebay and Craigslist - these sets are gonna be up there soon for close to half off. Gonna be a lot of people who grabbed stuff and don't care except to flip it for 20$ Could be wrong, but I forsee some constitution trains and Pirate Ambushs, etc. for about $60 or less. Thoughts?

Along with two of Olivia's Desk tucked away, I found a number of stock for Ice Cream Stand (30106) and Summer Picnic (30108), both of which were previously only available at Target for a short (and seasonal) timeframe. I found all three actually there with all the other Friends sets in 'the pink aisle'. If not there, then perhaps the clearance aisle or checkouts. It varies from store to store.

May be posted elsewhere but I didn't find it. I have been to 6 WMs within a 60 mile radius and have noticed that each one is very different in how they clearance Legos. Talked to a toy manager today at my local WM and here's the details. Corporate office tells all branches to clearance specific items initially (almost always) 20%. Then the store manager gets so much clearance dollars per store at the first of every month to allocate as he/she pleases to each department. It varies but usually the toy manager takes over from there and further discounts clearance items but sometimes the store manager likes to micro-manage and they select the items themselves. Walked into a Walmart that I don't usually make it to often about a month ago and on the bottom rack of the lego Isle there were (5) 6868 and the white and yellow sticker said "$15." They scanned for $15 so I bought them all. Fast forward to tonight I decided to drive out of my way to visit this Walmart again. Two more 6868 in the same spot, still marked $15. I live in a very rural area in Mississippi. I have one Wal-Mart that has 1/2 isle of Lego shelved. I pick it over regularly looking for deals but usually have very little luck at all. Well, recently, I was digging through the messed up shelves and found one Hulk's Helicopter Breakout 6868 with a clearance sticker. (Now you have to remember that my Wal-Mart does not have a clearance section for Toys. They have a rather small toy dept. ).
