Did anyone else get the new Winter 2014 catalog yet? There is a very noticable change in page format in this catalog. The sets are all in closely aranged boxes which look much sleeker than the old format. However, most sets have lost the description paragraph so that more sets can be included on each page. Only the large sets have paragraphs. Also, there were only two spreads covering Star Wars Lego! Does anyone else remember back in 2007 when the catalogs had seven or eight spreads of Star Wars! Those were the days... What are your thoughts on the new catalog?

Got off night shift, early in the morning, cleaned up the house and put out some flowers for my wife to find in the morning when she wakes up. Seemed bland. Took a few extras and spiced it up a bit. Im sure my little boys will be amused too (Mother's day is May in the U.S. for the Euro readers. That gives me time to prep for a cooler gift for the mother in law in EU. )

Season 4 just aired its first episode a couple days ago which was boat themed with some fun builds. This time around the grand prize (aside from cash) is the winning design will become an official LEGO set. I do not recognize anyone in the current lineup other than Christopher from DuckBricks. Looking forward to watching the upcoming challenges in store and seeing the sparks of creativity fly.

This is a nice little tid-bit for everyone to keep in mind. Ever think of patching up your walls with Legos? Here's someone who actually did it! http://dornob.com/patchwork-orange-art-of-fixing-buildings-with-lego-blocks/ Looks great IMO, plus a good idea! Way to "Lego up your world"!

Hi, Most of us sell on Bricklink and eBay. Quite a few people buy / pick-up shipping boxes in bulk from USPS, office supply stores, Uline.com, etc... Selecting the correct shipping box size is important just like proper packing techniques. For sellers, there isn't much worse scenarios than shipping a great conditioned boxed set only to have it damaged during transit. I would like to consolidate information to have one central list of 'ideal' shipping box sizes for the most common sets. Please feel free to post your recommendation shipping box dimesions along with set ID and name, I'll update the list below. 9

Just got back from NYCC. Had a lot of fun, picked up some nice exclusives. Did anyone else make it? Jeff and Ed are fairly close, did either of you go?

I was able to make it to Brickworld Fort Wayne this year and interview many of the builders there. If you have never made it to a LEGO convention this is a great way to see what it's like. You can see all of the interviews here: http://www.youtube.com/user/BeyondTheBrickTV?feature=watch

I imagine we have some computer guys here that can help me. My pc is no longer picking up any wifi signals. I turned my computer on this morning before work and everything was working fine. Just got home and I have no connection. My wifi dongle which is just connected via usb isn't picking up any signals at all. Along with my wifi connection, there is usually a couple of other ones my adapter picks up. I looked at my device manager and my adapter is registering at "unknown device" with zero drivers. I am typing this on my laptop and all my tablets are able to connect to my wifi. Is it possible my adapter crapped out on my? How should I troubleshoot this?

I did a search across the forums but didn't find a topic on this. My family is going to SD Legoland for the first time. We are staying at the hotel for one night. Of course every polybag I see has a free child ticket coupon on it. What is the best strategy for buying tickets? Anyone go recently and have any tips? Right now I am just planning on my wife and I each buying a ticket for one kid each using a coupon. Any thoughts appreciated.

I used to hate it when parents would drop their rug rats off and expect them to be baby sat by my employees. https://www.yahoo.com/parenting/dad-my-son-was-detained-at-the-lego-store-117785450612.html

Hi all, After I got done playing my trumpet the other day I thought of an idea. Lego should make instrument sets. These wouldn't be minifigure size, but life size. You could display them in a case and Lego could offer different instruments. I added some pictures I've found of instruments people have made. Pretty cool looking if you ask me. I then thought of two cons relating to this idea. 1. Limited Market People will probably only buy it if they are a Lego fan and play the instrument making the potential customer pool smaller. 2. Unique parts If for example they made a trumpet, it would probably require new parts. This equals a higher cost initially to make the set.…

Ok, so I got my Jedi Defender-class Cruiser two months ago, and while building it was impressed with the number of lughtsabers included. The amazing part though, was that out of the thirteen lightsabers in the set, only ONE had air bubbles in it. Could this be coincidence or has Lego finally solved the problem of air bubbles? Has anyone else seen less air bubbles in their lightsabers recently?

Wanted to share this with you guys since you have helped me so much in the last year and you're the people to take advantage of this. Bitcoin is obviously out of control right now, I'm the idiot who sold too soon. However, as discussed in another thread, there is a newer system called "Ripple" with some major national funding and increased attention. The price right now on www.ripplecharts.com is 48 xrp per dollar. Might be something to keep an eye on...getting them is a little tricky but you guys are savvy enough to do it.

Every so often I like to play around on Google Trends. If you have not heard of Google Trends before, it is "a public web facility of Google Inc., based on Google Search, that shows how often a particular search-term is entered relative to the total search-volume" (source: Wikipedia). Basically, it shows you how often people Google stuff over time. I got to thinking the other day about the popularity of Brickpicker since the USA Today article came out about Brickpicker and decided to look up "Brickpicker" on Google Trends. Talk about a Google search explosion for Brickpicker in December and even more so into January! I'll definitely be watching the popularity of Brick…

Just cruising BrickPicker news after a big day and what should I come across but an article about my upcoming holiday venture switch bricks - the article is "rebuilding the world brick by brick". Very cool to see my humble little article pop up internationally on the Brickpicker site ! While I don't do a lot of trading/investing in LEGO Switch Bricks is my way of enjoying my hobby and sharing it with others. If you're an aussie using this site, in South East Queensland and have Kiddies that love LEGO too check out the article

Not sure how i feel about my Eagles' pick. http://www.nfl.com/photoessays/0ap3000000490966/star-wars-draft-day 20. Philadelphia Eagles -- Darth Revan The Eagles need a lot of help on defense. And while Kelly was reportedly willing to do anything to move up in the draft to get Luke Skywalker, Revan will probably be more beneficial to his team in the long term.
