So this may be more of a general build and lego philosophy question rather than an investing question: Question #1: I really want to Bricklink a grand lego EOL set like the Eiffel Tower, Taj Mahal, or the Statue of Liberty. Seems to be a pretty common desire for many builders. Do you believe something like this is a worth it in pure dollar sense, or is there always some piece or something that makes it a wash compared to buying it used online? Example on the Eiffel Tower, piece 3633 a Dark Bluish Grey fence piece is probably the biggest obstacle since you need 255 of them and they typically sell for .40 - $1.50 depending on your seller. (And who want to pay $300…

Since getting a table saw, cutting items to exact measurements and straight (vs a circular saw) has been much easier and much more fun too. I've create the following over the past day or so and am basically down to the final phases (including gluing and nailing, I know the shelves are not straight in the picture). I'm leaning towards staining this cherry but figured I'd ask the community other preferences to make sure I don't overlook something I may like more. The majority of mini-figures displayed will be Star Wars. I also did this as a 4 stud deep to accommodate more mini-figures as it allows for them to be side-by-side if I really wanted to squeeze them in there b…

With so many members about, plus I'm anxiously curious as heck, but I really want to know if anyone here is an artist of some kind? Illustrator, author, painter, sketcher, charcoal, pixel, music, sculptor, photographer, indie games, whatever. Doesn't really matter as to what your medium is, I honestly would love to hear about it.

Just wanted to post a pic of the Lego storage I built. Each unit is 4' wide x 2' tall. I didn't get the stain exactly the same on each one, and the drawers aren't completely uniform - you have to make sure you put it back in the same one it came from - but it works. Of course, they were both immediately full, so I guess I need to go vertical with another pair...

I came across one of the most amusing articles ever from the Business Insider of Australia. They basically ran a poll using a certain number of Americans and asked how each felt about the other states. The darkest color had the highest number of votes while the whitest color had next to none. Winner: Massachusetts, 264 of 1603 votes, 16% Winner: New York, 305 of 1603 votes, 19% Winner: Alaska, 85 of 1603 votes, 5% Winner: California, (stats unknown) Winner: Texas, 167 of 1581 votes, 11% Winner: California, 403 of 1581 votes, 25% Winner: California, 713 of 1411 votes, 51% Winner: Alabama, 113 of 1442 votes, 9% Winner: Colorad…

Hi! I'm a mom of three small boys, soon to be four and all of my kids love Legos! I've really been struggling with how to sort the Legos into their sets so that they can pull out the boxes one at a time and build from the booklets without having to dig through a huge tub to find the small pieces. I finally solved my problem! I got this box at Michaels and it works perfectly for sorting the small sets. And the boys actually keep them separate too. We still have a box of regular bricks so they can build creatively, but I love this as my kids will sit and build one set from the instruction booklets. The case was originally $40, but this week it's on sale for $20. …

If any theme makes them, I reckon it will be Lego Friends. The idea came to me when thinking if they would ever break the mould (literally) and do a fat Lego Friend. I thought it would be unlikely. Well, what about a pregnant lady? And then a baby? I can't see it happening in other themes, unless it has and I've missed it. Incidentally, the little microfigs from the games make good sized Lego babies. The mummies look like baby in swaddling clothes. It's in Odds and Ends because I'm pretty much rambling and just wanted to hear what others think on this. Thanks

So other than person-specific birthday threads I couldn't find anything, so I thought I'd start one up so we can wish fellow members a happy date of birth and hear about what sets (or non-lego items?) they got. To start things off, yesterday was Stephen Rockefeller's birthday! Happy B-Day man!

Every single time I go I get some busted down cart with string holding down a wheel. It's frustrating when you are trying to push a massive cart full of lego and you are making more noise then a toddler in church.

I have read 10 or more sites giving advice on selling comic books, but I am still utterly confused by the best path to take. I have a stack of them from the 80's, and I looked most of them up on Ebay, and I have some, like GI Joes, that range in value (going by the current listings anyway) from $5.00 to $500.00 and up. I also have some random ones that look like I could list them for $5 to $10 and sell them in a lot maybe. I run into a quandary when I see the rated ones packed in plastic and displaying their grades. While this looks like the ideal situation, the cost of grading my collection does not seem price worthy. I see the benefit of having the 4 or 5 tha…

hey all... so i was doing research about the various monthly toy box services and i found this company... BRICK LOOT. they just started and i was intrigued by what they had to offer. i've seen the only other lego related box and that's "brick builders club" which left me a little unimpressed. this company though seems to have a lot of potential! check out my unboxing video and let me know what you guys think.

I wanted to pass on a web site I created that might be useful for people selling on eBay: http://www.ListingTrends.com The site shows you the hottest listings currently on eBay, as determined by number of bids, watchers, or current price. I had been using a simpler version at home to see what's trending in comic books (to figure out what I could buy and flip), and I figured I'd flesh it out so that anyone could use it for any category. For instance, if you look at the "Bulk Bricks & Lots" category, the listing with the highest number of bids is a set of 20 clone trooper minifigs with 35 bids, and the highest price is a 19" Lord Garmadon display at $490. If yo…

(Which creates more problems.) (While I am not sure the details of the this exact piece of s#$t legislation, rumor has it they will only tax those who sell over 1 million dollars in revenue? IDK but I HAAAATE Washington...what a bunch of clowns.)

  24. I think I might venture to Seattle this October for Brickcon. The only thing that is holding me back is the LEGO blocumentary on you tube that profiles the founders of brickcon, not to be rude but the type of people I saw there in the documentary seemed well kinda weird. I consider myself a pretty normal guy so I don't want to go all the way up there and feel out of place. I know I am stereotyping but it is what it is. Anyone else been to something like this. Will they burn me at the stake if in show up and mention investing?
