Hi guys, Not sure if any of you remember, but there was a "Build a Better Piggy Bank" Contest on FutureAdvisor Blog, so I made an entry. If possible, please vote for mine. You need to have a Facebook account in order to vote. Mine is made out of Legos and is under the name Jacob Wu, which is my name. As you all know, I am really into Legos, as is everyone else here on BrickPicker. If I were to win any of the prizes, which are 1st Place, 2nd Place, 3rd Place, and Staff Pick, I would use it to expand my pretty meager Lego collection. Now you know that I have a good cause, and a purpose! What are you waiting for! VOTE NOW! Instructions: 1. Click on my name. 2. Opens a Fa…

Just an interesting article on making money from selling used LEGO bricks. Funny, I never really heard of the company.

  6. Can anyone help me identify the theme and name of the Transformers listed in the picture? I only know Transformers from 1984 to 1986 I did look in various Transformers wikis and found info on other ones not pictured. I'm plan on selling each on eBay.

For anyone that has never played this before, the "Would you rather" game is where you are given a fictitious question or scenario with two different choices but can only choose one. Usually players give some sort of reason as to why they chose theirs as well. Typically not a Lego related sort of game but I have one at the moment that can be. *ahem* If given the choice between these two scenarios, would you rather.... Trade in your entire collection of Lego for a knock-off brand like Mega Bloks. OR Not be able to purchase or sell a single Lego for the rest of your life.

I just found this on my local KSDK news site and it links bck to the original article. http://www.kvue.com/story/news/nation/2014/07/19/boy-battling-cancer-only-wants-a-box-of-birthday-cards-for-his-birthday/12887255/ Danny's birthday is July 25. All cards can be mailed the Nickerson's home addressed: Remember he is only 6. Danny Nickerson, P.O. Box 212, Foxboro, MA, 02035. I am not sure how adept/able he may be to play or build them. http://m.rte.ie/news/business/2016/0112/759458-lego-fine-germany/ Not sure if this is old news, if it fits in Lego trying to diminish the reselling business, if it is minor quarrels in the distribution negotiations. I thought throwing this out there to see what more knowledgeable brickpickers could add about this topic. If this is not the right forum please move ahead. ---------------- Danish toy maker Lego has been fined €130,000 by German regulators for preventing stores from offering discounts on its popular toys in 2012 and 2013. Bundeskartellamt, the German regulator, said Lego kept lists of its toys,…

  20. So truth be told...I've never built a lego set in my life. I'm 25. I decided that I needed to at some point. I have a fascination with winter and cabins and such this brought me to the winter village cottage set as it also has a practical sense under my Christmas tree. lets be honest here, I'm 25band not exactly gonna play with a ninjago set. So its Christmas eve. despite being a lego investor and loving money and knowing the potential this set will bring I opened one. I thought i'd build this whole set in a hour and have it displayed for Christmas. ....I have been humbled. A few hours later...I have an igloo and truck built. I'm also not much of a drinker at …

  21. Maybe not your dad, but an influential male in your life? My dad is a railway modeler and I've begun to recognise likenesses between us, mainly: we're both obsessed by something typically thought of as a boy's toy! I looked in his shed today - stacked with boxed up railway models - this shed is big enough to fit a car in. Is this just a male thing - the collecting? Or does it run in the family?
