Hi, If there is a more appropriate place to post my question please let me know and I'll move it! I'm new to lego investing and currently have 1 each of the tower bridge, cargo train, grand emporium, and Goblin King...want to get a couple more different sets, but have to figure out which ones first! Anyhow, my question is: How long after EOL do you have to wait before you sell? Have you had better success at Bricklink or Ebay for those EOL sets? Thank you for your help to this newbie, and I look forward to this new hobby!

Hi, Was in local Lego shop and staff there indicated that the 2009 winter toy shop set will not be released (as it was last year) this year and only the winter bakery and post office would be re-released with the new much larger and much more expensive winter cottage set this year. So I guess in the UK this has gone EOL. Seems to be lots of them around on ebay though, but none on Amazon UK Luckily I have a few.

Well, after much speculation the time is finally here. Grand Emporium 10211 is apparently going EOL. It's no longer listed on any of the EU Amazon sites. Only available from 3rd party sellers that are charging at least 10

I been asked alot am I sure about The Monster Fighters and the LOTR Helm's Deep really going to stop being made in June, Yes they are, Its on the Official Lego order form for people who buy wholesale, and I have Emailed the form to a number of guys on here. But do not no about the Haunted House, so it would not hurt to pick one up once in a while. Now even though The Monster Fighters and Helm's Deep stops in June, these will still be around for the Holidays. And here is another thing that i know about, when Toys R Us and Target have there Black Friday Lego sale 6-8 months a head of time. Well chances are both store's no what sets they will have on sale, a good guess Targe…

Disclaimer - Awooga Awooga. This is gossip, it may not be correct. Hell it may be completely wrong. Any losses occurred from listening to me are entirely your own fault. End of Disclaimer. OK, I visited my local store today. Spoke to a very helpful person. I sometimes think we give the store employees a bit of a hard rap, most of them, at least the ones in my local area, are happy to help and talk Lego. They are all young but I have not met one to whom their job is just a "summer" job eg: like those so helpful kids you find at MacDonalds or the Supermarket most of whom could not give a.......... ahem.... anyway. She openly admited they are always hearing diffe…

Been lurking here for a while, first time poster. I wasn't sure where to post this, but EOL seemed appropriate. On my lunch break, I ventured out to a Target about 10 miles away from my work (not in my normal rotation of 3 Targets near me) and the Lego isle was dead, but a worker was there re-stickering the shelves in the MH/LOTR/Hobbit/DC section. My mission was to get any lingering VCs they had, which I found one. As I grabbed it, she took the remaining 2 Ghost trains and threw them in a cart. Then she grabbed the 1 Goblin King battle and the 2 mirkwood spider sets that were there and threw them in the cart. I asked her what she was doing with them. She said…

Hi everyone! What I DO get is: EOL dates are important for investors because that is when the sets they bought as investments are going to start rising in value significantly. OK, understood. What I do NOT get is: Why is there such a craze about the EOL in connection to the time of buying and the question "Should I buy set X now because soon of the EOL it will be sold out everywhere"? My question is: Why don't people just look at all the sets they are interested in from when they are released - and just buy them at some time for the lowest price (imaginable). Meaning: The max discount you can probably ever get is 50%, correct me if I'm wrong. So, anything b…

http://search2.lego.com/?q=winter+village〈=2057&cc=US I'm sure some remember that a little while ago the Bakery was listed as sold out and the Post Office was listed as "retired". Now they both are. Any thoughts? What do you think the ceiling is for these?

I just got an email from TRU in my inbox, I'm sure others have it as well. They are calling out soon to be retired sets. Not all of these show as retiring soon on S @ **** of course. The ones I found interesting on their link were Weathertop and Gandalf Arrives. I know they seem to be close to EOL, not sure if this creeps toward being more official. http://www.toysrus.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=legoretired&origkw=legoretired&f=Taxonomy/TRUS/2254197&sr=1

Series 9 of the CMS has gotten the "Retiring Soon" label on LEGO Shop at Home. I would suggest anyone who is trying to complete this series do it soon. Bring on Series 10 and "Mr. Gold"!!

Hey guys/gals, I am trying to find out when a set is put on the retired list. Iam not looking for a general 1-2 year speculation, but rather an update on when they go EOL. I thought I came across something on brickset before but ccan't seem to find it again. It had almost a day by day retired list. Anyone know of something like this or am I crazy? Surely there is a better tool than checking LEGO Shop at Home manually for each set. Thanks ahead of time. Regards, Cody

Other than a blip on Brickipedia, I have no actual source but it has the Spongebob Squarepants theme listed as being discontinued. Also, the Master Brick Academy (Sorry for everyone that subscribed to that, ouch.) and the Super Heroes - Ultrabuilds. I saw something for introducing sets based on the upcoming film, Planes. Someone already mentioned that bit last year so nothing new. True or not, how do you feel about it? I'm a little surprised, but then again am not. Those latest Spongebob sets have been sitting on shelves FOREVER.

Harbour 4645 went EOL late last year. I picked up a few on sale recently but now I'm thinking about returning them to reinvest into something else. Retail was $89.99, I got 2 at $74 each, not much of a discount but it was already EOL at that point. Just wanted to hear some of your opinons. Thanks!

Now that the Planet Series 1 is officially retired, what are you guys expecting to see for growth? I think they can climb to $20 ea buy June. With the Death Star carrying a set if them to $65/set. I'll be watching closely to see if rest of line is worth the investment. Regards, Cody

Anyone have any info on how long this is left? Seems to be popping up in plenty of clearance sales overseas, so pondering getting a couple to put aside now before it disappears forever.

I haven't heard any substantial rumors regarding the Falcon's EOL, but I wouldn't be surprised to see this follow a similar trajectory of the Black Pearl/QAR, with the last ones being snapped up in the October-ish period and being unavailable at retail by the time many folks are doing their Christmas shopping. I guess that means about a two year run with stock still being available for a few months after production finishes. Just a guess, though. If I see any more at $99 like before Christmas 2012, I'll snap them up!

According to Lego Shop's Facebook page, they've just updated what's Retiring Soon. https://www.facebook.com/officialLEGOshop http://shop.lego.com/en-US/Retiring-Soon?cmp=soc-RetiringSoon_Feb13_NA What I find interesting is what isn't on the list. I would have thought that last year's Superheroes and Monster Fighters sets would be listed as Retiring Soon the next time the site updated.

I've finally gotten the chance to check out a 2013 catalogue, and noticed some sets released not that long ago not being featured. For example, the ambulance no longer advertised while the dirt bike transporter still is, no forest police station featured, and no The Zombies on the Monster Fighters page. Does this means that these sets are going EOL? Any thoughts guys?

Well, this happened about this time last year so we'll see if it's a hoax. The Grand Emporium is showing sold out on LEGO Shop at Home this evening. We'll have to see whether it truly is or if it's just out of stock. Would be interesting if it did go before the Fire Brigade. Guess we'll see. It's time for a Modular or two to go EOL in my opinion.
