General Buying & Selling

Overall discussion on the buying and selling of LEGO

  1. Started by mightycaseyatbat,

Good afternoon fellow Pickers. I come to seek ye ol advice. I have a decent amount of used sets that I need to sell. My wife has already begun the "every time I come in the bonus room there are more legos" bit. Plus I need to make room for a baby in August. So my question is... How do you ship used sets? Do you literally leave some assembled? If any one could attach pictures of how you do it, that would be phenomenal. I may post on CL and FB groups, but I don't figure to get what I want out of them. But it would at least be local. I will ultimately try to sell on eBay once I figure out how to ship so I don't lose money on shipping. Thanks in advance ever…

  2. Started by Banjoman,

Any way to find a specific list of the money back deals offered by Honey? I find I am coming across them by accident when I pull up sets for finding the info on here but havent been able to find a running list of deals on their site. Any help appreciated

  3. This is my 3rd time selling an item on eBay, everything was simple until now. I shipped the item on July 9th, from Mexico to Netherlands, according to the tracking number it arrived on July 18th to NLAMSA Customs (NL = Netherlands AM = Amsterdam SA = Schiphol Airport), but it has been sitting there for a while (4 bussiness days and counting). Idk what to do, fortunately my client has 704 score, so he's more experienced than I, but i'm kind of panicking right now.

I'm just going to get to the point. I respect EVERY Brickpicker on the site. But I want to know if you think the deals that members project are truly accurate. Do you think a deal someone had gotten is put of this world or legitimate? Or is there some embellishment?

  5. My Lego orders from LEGO Shop at Home Canada are delivered by FedEx and more often than not the shipping boxes are banged up on a corner or squished at one end, etc. Anyone else have this problem? It's so bad you almost have to just laugh about it! I don't have problems with any other shippers that I use from other stores, so not sure how to change it. It would be really nice if other shipping options/other shippers were available on LEGO Shop at Home. I'm reluctant to report or complain to Lego because I don't want to get anybody in trouble, but how else can it be changed?!

Based on what i earn every month and what then comes out of that for my rent, should i give the Lego eBay business a go? On average i earn roughly

I've been listing Lego again on Ebay trying to sell out my collection for financial reasons. I was contacted by a person wanting to buy everything I had listed so far (about 20 sets) and everything else I have (about 80 more sets). He said we could do the transaction through a paypal invoice. He has been a member of Ebay since 2013 with 100% feedback. In his message his emailis different from user name. It ends with Uptown trades out of Brooklyn New York. Would you do this deal? I would have to ship everything.

So I have been considering making a trip to some of the stores in my region that I've never been to that are far away. The farthest one is about 2.5 hours away, so stopping at every store would make this a day long trip. I have a hybrid that gets 45-50 mpg on the highway and my route would be V shaped taking one highway north and returning through another highway that will bring me southeast and eventually end in my hometown. I am in the process of locating every Walmart, Target, Kmart, and Toys R Us on my route. I've located over 20 stores on the route so far. The costs are my time, fuel, and the wear on the vehicle. The risk is that I strike out and get nothing fo…

Hello everyone, I am new to lego investing and am curious about some suspicious activity from an online store. I have placed two orders from them and so far nearly all of the sets of have arrived. One item, prince of persia 7573 which was 50% off was out of stock and I received a full refund through google wallet. The other items all arrived but from various retail sites suck as B&****** and ToysRus with gift receipts or higher amounts listed as paid than I did. Everything arrived promptly in great condition but the circumstances are very suspicious to me. What am I not seeing here? All of the orders are placed by someone else, so far 9 items have arrived.

My son has sadly outgrown his Lego collection. We have listed it on eBay but it's not having much interest. I'm having people offer me silly amounts like £200 but knowing how much I paid for it I cannot let it go for such a low price. Any idea how much I could get for it? I will put the eBay listing number in the comments if anyone could help me.

Do you sell on Amazon? Ebay? Both? I've been selling on Amazon for 3+ years, mostly sealed sets and minifigures, mostly FBA over the past year and FBM before that. I'm thinking of switching over to Ebay for a variety of reasons, and I'm curious what your preferences are for these platforms. I've also dabbled in local sales (Craigslist, FB Marketplace, OfferUP, etc.) but my area is to budget conscious to move any significant amount of product. Which platform do you prefer and why?

Hey guys, Quick question regarding Bricklink. I've bought a bunch of bins over the last few months and have gone through and sorted a good portion of them back into sets, but inevitably some are missing a handful of pieces and unfortunately some aren't available from lego any longer. I've made lists of all the parts I need but when I search bricklink its hard to find someone that has more then a few parts on the list. Is there a better way to do this or can anyone recommend a dealer that may have a vast selection of parts? Thanx

  17. Started by SteveDJ,

Simple question ... I’ve been away for a couple weeks, and now cannot find the Lot Price Calculator feature anymore. Did I miss something?

  18. Mine was crushed in shipping. They put it diagonally in a huge box with no padding at all except in the bottom under the set. Top of the box was smashed in really bad (caved in) and the set itself had some wear and all the seals were broken from the air being pushed out of the set. I am going to build it anyway, so I am not too worried about it. Anyone else have problems? I was going to see if anyone went to customer service about it.

  19. I saw a thread recently where Toywiz.com is buying Lego for resale. I logged in to my account and to my surprise, some of their prices are pretty good and considerably higher than the prices of items I picked up on clearance. If you need to offload some items quickly and don't want to hassle with EBay and PayPal fees, this may be a decent option. http://www.toywiz.com/toywizbuying.html Quick screenshot of a few items:

There are a few LEGO stores within a few hour radius of me (one just opened yesterday) and I've never visited any of them. Is there any reason to visit one of these for special deals or promotions or anything? Basically, am I missing out on anything other than "the experience" by not going to these stores? Or am I better off just continuing to order everything online? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Brickpicker Forum mobile app

Hey everyone, I'm thinking that it may be time to sell my collection. Just wanted to see if anyone has any tips like where to sell, how I could possibly sell the whole collection together, and generally anything you may have found helpful when you were selling. I appreciate any advice. Thank you.

I did a quick search and didn't come up with much info. If I missed a thread or topic please point me to that. Anyway, I was finally going to try going through paypal for shipping. This will be a transaction outside of ebay (making a trade). I would like to ship via first class since I am just shipping 2 figures. i heard you get free tracking if you pay online too, is that true? Now do I just go through paypal's site, enter the recipient, pick first class then pay?

  24. Hello there, I'm new to this website, so I hope I'm putting this in the right place. I've spent the last couple months digging all my old sets out and seeing how many of them I could put back together, and now I think I'm finally ready to sell 'em! There's about 150 in all; about 2/3 of that is Bionicle, but there's also some old Star Wars, Space Port, Insectoids, RoboRiders, and a few other things. I put together a list of every set by theme here, and since most are missing either the instructions or original packaging, I made a separate list where they're sorted by how intact they are. There's also a pound or two of miscellaneous parts, and a few special parts that…
