@keymomachine, great family activity!  We also picked a bunch of blackberries today, but those were eaten up already. Not sure which is my favorite, Blueberry/blackberry/raspberry season, or Strawberry season.

I believe the the blackberry is the worlds most perfect fruit.  There is nothing that you can do to it to make it any better then it is right off the bush.

can absorb heavy metals if the ground is contaminated; eating about a basket (4 handfuls) a week may lead to toxic blood levels in a month; much less and sooner for children

NEVER pick from bushes next to a busy street which almost guarantees contaminated soil

...and yes I study this stuff for my work and write technical position papers for my clients (Dept of Defense) who own such property where berries may grow.

I have to ask, how many at DoD facilities eat them anyway and get sick despite the warnings ???

Of the different berries I am inclined to agree on the blackberry variety though somewhat tied with strawberries. I have to be in a particular mood for blueberries. And frozen raspberries are quite delicious I think.

Just opened this bag of Peet's coffee that I bought last month from Costco.  I forgot how much better they are than Costco brand (good, not great) or Dunkin Donuts (they were cheap with coupon :D ).  I may need to order the Major Dickason one from costco.com

Something about that name just puts me off...maybe I think of dirt? Been drinking Cafe Bustelo without any variation for several months...need to mix it up. Time to try it!

They were selling these for $3 a bag at my Costco last week! I passed because I'm a medium roast whole bean guy - but I picked up a couple two pound bags of Honduran Whole Bean from a Michigan roaster they were clearing out for $5 each.

Lol. First product I bought a long time ago was their Major Dickason blend because I thought the name was funny. :D  (yes, that's just how my brain works :P )

once in a blue moon Costco has the Peets "Big Bang" medium roast.  I usually get like 6 bags (even a bit older coffee of BB still waaay better than anything else at Costco)...IMO ofcourse
