Not having zero = allowing you to estimate the mean holdings of sellers who've bought in only

Having zero = allowing you to estimate the mean holdings across all sellers

The zero option provides a great deal of useful context for the other data.

Exactly but the poll has overlaps - if you have 5, 10 etc there are 2 options you could click. 0, 1-5, 6-10, 11-20 etc would have been better and there is a gap between 20 and 30 with no option,  but no big deal, people will be too drunk to answer coherently anyway.

Looking at some stats for completed new sold BIN and AUCTION listings on Ebay EU VS actual listings available.

10188: 85 sales since sold out 4th Dec. Avg 4 per day. Currently 33 BIN listings above RRP

10240: 40 or so sales since sold out on 26th Dec. Avg 6 per day. Currently 24 BIN listings above RRP

70810: 8 since 22nd Nov, half in the first week after retirement. Avg 1 per week. Currently 12 BIN listings above RRP

76023: 7 since 28th Dec. Avg 2 per day. Currently 38 BIN listings above RRP

Compare with:

10224: 21 sold since 1st Dec. Avg less than 1 per day. Currently 29 BIN listings above RRP

Please note that listings may include multiple units of items so real sales will be higher, particularly for the star wars ones.

It is interesting to see that DS sales have remained consistent even though the price has moved up a lot. Average daily sales for Red 5 are higher, however we are still only a week after sold out status and that the market has not been flooded -yet.

Sea Cow almost seems in a different league altogether and the number of Tumblers available is worrying.

Comments?

i havent gone into the sales numbers but judging by the price: (all ebay germany)

tumbler made a quick jump too 300€

DS went from 430€ at the beginning of december to 490€ in mid december. Few days before christmas it climed to almost 600 and remains there till now.

red5 quickly sold at 220€+ and reached 300€ by now. still rising quickly imo.

Yup. But red 5 was sellling above rrp for a time before retirement as it was backordered. That´s when most shops ran out of stock and why there is panic now.

Also, it´s good to focus on units sold and available now rather than the price because that gives an idea of real demand and how price will evolve.

Bricklink data shows similar patterns of units but, bizarrely, Red 5 sold the same quantity as DS and Tumbler in December (44). However, there are double the units listed of DS to red 5, with tumbler in between. SC sold only 14 and has the same number available as red 5  (60 ish). TH sold only 3 and has the same number listed as DS (120)

All this suggests Tumbler is more hoarded than some would like and that red 5 is looking very good.

Went back to the Lego store here, and picked up another one. 4 left on the shelves.

I'm not sure how high of a demand these are in the US. Figured they'd all be gone by now...

Folks love to hate a set until it's gone forever. That being said, I do think this one is well hoarded in the US. I'm anxious to see how it performs next year with the new x-wing for Rogue One rumored to be released.

Is it possible to reset the poll to allow people to vote again?

i reset the poll.  people need to vote again.  only side-effect is that folks who voted before will have their names still shown even though they can vote again and even for a diff answer.
