NZ-EUG Posted October 31, 2014 Posted October 31, 2014 Looks like I'll be purchasing this set now, I can only hope that release date is same for NZ? Are the release dates common for US & EU? I guess I 'll be able to buy it online, but I would prefer not to pay for shipping from the states. Your information would be appreciated Quote
areyounormal Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Lego December 2014 calendar just posted online and no early VIP set listed. Kinda hoping this would have been. Quote
Elkkthunder Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Based on hothbricks.com Perhaps a limited blac Friday release. Many of you have received the invitation by post above: Saturday, November 22, from 9:00 to 10:00, the lucky ones selected by LEGO can visit the LEGO Store at So Ouest shopping center accompanied by a person of their choice to enjoy a few promotions and admire the two exclusive sets planned for January 2015. Locutus001 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Saw this pic on reddit today. Sure the DO isn't a huge modular or anything, but man the Slave I looks massive. That looks huge! I love how those two new sets are displayed together ^.^ It looks a little bit like an invasion from outer space is taking place there ;-D Quote
meowsmeowsmeows Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Nice job LEGO... Yes, definitely. Lego has produced a winner in this set, both for serious collectors and investors. Perhaps they got the message after the B-wing and X-wing and felt they needed to do something more. The Slave I is similar to the UCS Tumbler in quality it appears, but let's hope for those who actually want to buy it for their own collection, it is not handled production- and release-wise like the Tumbler. Though, flippers would love that scenario for much of 2015. I'll be up at midnight on Jan. 1 in my drunken state trying to order this one. 1 Quote
dubzero Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 This is the first exclusive I will buy and build on release day. Can. Not. Wait. 2 Quote
Guest TabbyBoy Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Wetting my pants already! I'm on my 4th pair today! Quote
Dr. Brick Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 The Slave 1 is such an ugly ship... but that Lego version is sweet. Sandcrawler or Slave 1... my wallet weeps with yours. Slave 1 over the Sandcrawler for me. I'm still selling some of the last Slaves. The Lego Slaves are indeed so much nicer than the movie version 1 Quote
MrMorden Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I just saw this live in Paris. Gorgeous. Massive. Must have. Also, I love the amount of special greens and dark red, I could buy 3 just for the bricks. Quote
Stevenplays Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 After finally seeing the scale, sometimes the model by itself isn't enough, I'll be picking this up for 'free' on January. Thanks VIP program. 1 Quote
njseale Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 The set really is just massive. $200 looks like a great price point for it to me. Midnight 1/1 can't come fast enough Quote
Dark Helmet Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I wonder if they will do a early purchase like the Simpsons house Quote
dubzero Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 I wonder if they will do a early purchase like the Simpsons house If so, I will have a VERY good Christmas! Quote
Out of the Dark Years Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Saw this pic on reddit today. Sure the DO isn't a huge modular or anything, but man the Slave I looks massive.Slave 1 looks awesome, the DO looks tiny next to it. Quote
lego rules Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I am out of space for displaying sets so depending on height of this on its stand......either the AT-ST or B-Wing will need to go Quote
Crustybeaver Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 (edited) The Slave is quite large when you see it built. It's a great looking design and I'm sure will be a big seller. Edited December 1, 2014 by Crustybeaver Quote
NZ-EUG Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 (edited) I'm looking forward to displaying it in flight mode as I have the play-set version in landing mode . Edited December 3, 2014 by NZ-EUG Quote
MikeF Posted December 3, 2014 Posted December 3, 2014 A review of it, in Spanish so will need to be translated http://revistabricks.com/2014/11/28/review-lego-75060-slave-1-ucs/ Quote
areyounormal Posted December 4, 2014 Posted December 4, 2014 The Brickshow did a review of the Slave 1 here: I was reading the comments and a user mentioned that there is a typo on the UCS info display sticker by misspelling tractor as "tracor" which if that is true that is unfortunate. If you pause the video at 2:16 you can see what they are talking about. Quote
