I hope this is ok to do. Please feel free to delete it if necessary. If you're looking for a kids book for a Christmas present take a look at "Kyppa and the Duckling". My girlfriend wrote this story to honor our late Rottweiler Kyppa. It's a cute story she's had in her head for years and finally put a book together. Thanks for looking! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1514601966?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00

I do all the holiday shopping in my house for my 4 kids, my husband, and even myself. Each year, around September, I start planning and deal hunting and buying. The past few years, I have managed to "finish" by early November, but then tack on a bunch of must-have family gifts. This year is a new record. I decided I wanted to buy Lego Dimensions, and then it all went downhill. I started out trying to get about $200 together to buy the game, and ended up convincing myself that we needed a PS4 too. Here's what I bought: PS4 500 w/ Star Wars Battlefront (std) and Guitar Hero (single guitar) - $340 Extra controller $40 Lego Dimensions Starter $50 LD Level …

I know that the forum is more about having fun than about serious stuff (other than business) but I wanted to bring this to everybodys attention: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-34814203 For most here this might be far far away but for me it's my neighbourcountry. I've been to Paris several times (the city not people with stupid names) and thinking of how out of nowhere these attacks have been it's just shocking and frightening. There is not better reason than luck that I haven't been there. I'm sure after 9/11 U.S.Americans are (over)sensitive to that matter as well and having had the Boston attacks (and others) that's a topic that might…

Any Clashers on here? I started the game this past Sept. Can be addictive trying to build up defenses/base...just when you think the next upgrade will be awesome, you always want the next level. I'm no where near maxed out (or in Champions league). Maybe there will be Lego Ideas set.

http://www.aol.com/article/2015/08/15/disney-announces-star-wars-theme-parks/21223213/ Disney announces 'Star Wars' theme parks "The Star Wars universe is ready to invade ours. Disney chairman Bob Iger announced the creation of two Star Wars theme parks. The 14-acre parks will feature humanoids, aliens and droids. He called it the company's "largest single themed land expansion ever." "Everything we create will be part of our storytelling," said Iger, who added every store in these parks would be operated by local inhabitants -; in other words, actors in character as aliens or droids. "Nothing in the land will be out of character or stray from the mythology." Iger said g…

What apps are people using to manage their various coupons & giftcards? Example: TRU egift cards from Shopkick, bing rewards, tru rewards and digital coupons. Right there that could possibly be 4 apps that get that all together to check out. Right now I create a Album(iOS user) store name and grab screenshots of everything then add all my screen shots into that folder. The major downside would be if I delete that image out of my photos, the reference in the album is lost. I like to have all my coupons, gift cards & discounts easily available as I check out. I do not want to go to my email or browser etc... to grab items. Does anyone know of a app that helps…

Last year, many of us watched Sharknado 2 online together. Well, sorta, We actually posted comments during the movie and had a great time. As Jeff recently said, watching it is like "like Christmas in July". Are you ready for "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! (9 pm ET/PT)." It's on tomorrow (Weds) evening. The movie's premise is classic : A monstrous tornado unleashes ravenous sharks from Washington, D.C., all the way down to Orlando, Fla. The cast is promising! I only need to mention 1 name, David Hasselhoff https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharknado_3:_Oh_Hell_No!#Cast

Well this is the year. Both my boys have birthdays this month and we are going to start watching the Star Wars saga. I've been waiting to watch it with them (ever so patiently) to make sure they are old enough to handle, process and fully enjoy the movies. Yes I'm one of those dads that censors what my kids watch. Now on to the ultimate question. Should we watch the movies in the order that most of us on here watched them? Obviously we didn't have the luxury of watching the movies in the order of the story, but now we do. My overwhelming hunch is to watch them in the order that I did as a kid, but feel free to chime in. Have any of you re-watched the entire SW saga starti…

Not sure how to feel about this... Let's discuss how this is a FAIL or a WIN? Does it affect the LEGO secondary markets? Would people rather work a job than part LEGO sets out or flip small sets considering the fact that parting out LEGO sets usually equates to a minimum wage job?

What began as a simple video-sharing service started by three former PayPal employees way back in February 14 of 2005 later to be purchased by Google in November 2006 has since become a staple of the internet and our lifestyles (for most of us). The very first uploaded clip was a guy's brief trip to a local zoo with some commentary which is completely mild where today's uploads can range from a variety of critics raging on about some movie, a gamer showing off how fast he/she can beat that insane level of Sonic, to even a corporation like BBC reporting what's happening. There is a high volume of absurdity to be found unfortunately between the comments section on many or c…

Has anyone looked at the question from the Singapore Math Quiz? I figure that if people can debate the merits of VIP points, they can surely solve such an innocent question.

They`re gone ladies and gentlemen! Going the way of Target, apparently Red brand colours are not in anymore. http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/future-shop-stores-closed-across-canada-some-to-rebrand-as-best-buy-1.3013534 All kidding aside, this is pretty sad to say the least. They used to be Canada`s largest electronics brand, crazy amounts of money. They were absolutely huge for a strictly Canadian company, then BestBuy bought them way back and they still did really. Well, not anymore. It`s a shame, I`m glad BestBuy is sticking around for the foreseeable future, but to see yet another large retailer heading out is discomforting on many levels. 1,500 jobs cut t…

From MechWarrior to Macross, Earthsiege to Armored Core, Heavy Gear to Gundam, etcetera, fans of mecha everywhere let yourself be heard here! I was just wondering if there are other people on the site that dig giant robots and stuff. I'm not necessarily asking about the series or movies these mecha appear in but focusing more on the designs themselves. For example, I actually like the Urban Mech from the MechWarrior series and think many of the original names for the mechs in MechWarrior were great (Summoner instead of Thor, Hellbringer over Loki, and so on). Also I am curious of anybody that enjoys playing the tabletop games such as Battletech or Heavy Gear. I wou…
