Just a quick question about Star Wars UCS sets. So I really have my eye on the Ewok Village but right now I only see it on lego.com. I know I've seen UCS in non-LEGO brick and mortar stores like Walmart, Target, etc. so I guess my question is does LEGO make these sets exclusive to them for a certain amount of time before sending out out to other retail outlets? I'm not in a super hurry to grab a bunch of these but I was hoping that they may be in other big box stores for holiday season 2014 so they might be discounted or I can use coupons for them. Does LEGO do this for others sets as well? Thanks for your help!

Hi, I'm new to the forums but I took a quick look around and didn't see the question so hopefully someone has experience with this. I live in NY and have bought about 40k in Lego since 2016. I never paid too much attention to the Sales Tax I was paying on my purchases aside for of course calculating my profit. But it really does eat significantly into profits - with Amazon taking 20% on the way out and NY taking 8% on the way in, with box/tape/return costs, it's really hard to make money until a set appreciates at least 50%. My question is, is there a way to recover the roughly 3k I spent over the years to NY (40k * 8% sales tax) ? What I could find goog…

This October the "Lego world" fair is in Utrecht, the Netherlands from the 16th till the 22nd. I am seeing all kinds of exclusive sets being sold at comic cons and the fan expo in Canada. What I am looking for is news for possible exclusives being offered during the logo world fair in Utrecht. If anyone heard anything please mention so here! Thank you! Hi, I know nothing about Lego but I have a wooden box with two malomite boards that slide in to make the lid. The box was purchased in Germany originally and has the words "System Lego Bausteine im Spiel" printed on the sides. Is this worth anything? Any information or help would be great. Thanks, Michelle.

See title - this is the type of query I'd love to do - is there a LEGO-related site available out there that lets me build a database query with following at minimum?: Set Year Number of Pieces MSRP (price of brick can be inferred using Number of Pieces and MSRP anyway)

I was wondering what the average value of this set would be given its condition it’s missing the u joints, gear racks and differential carrier pieces but is other wise complete, a handful of the bags are still sealed, the box itself is in good shape with the organizers but has some peeling and tape on it

I have ordered twice from Walmart.com (ship to store) and saved a few bucks compared to purchasing off the shelf. Both times my lego boxes (multiple sets on each order) have come with a huge white label with my name and order # details stuck to the actual set box. I have no idea why they don't box the entire order but they simply slap a huge label on each set box. This is freaking annoying. I now have a huge white label stuck to my boxes. I ordered several to invest in and really do not want these labels stuck on them. Have any of you purchased from Walmart Ship to Store and had this happen? It saved me $2.00/per set on a few I ordered the other day. I'm scare…

Hello I have decided to include lego to my investment portfolio after looking at various alternative investments. I am looking to achieve a 33% markup which nets 25% after taxes etc. Is the best method to achieve this reselling on amazon ? Is this realistic ? What is my expected timeframe to realise this? I do not have capital to make a large initial purchase but have

I'm not sure if this has been discussed here before. But I've noticed some LEGO sets have a "light brick". As far as I can tell, these are bricks with a light and a battery in them. Sets with a light brick include "The Orc Forge" (9476), "Whitecap Bay" (4194), and it appears the new "Winter Village Cottage" (10229), among others. I don't have any light brick sets so I'm not familiar with them. My question is, does a light brick in a set effect the investment value at all? Is it a good feature short and long term? Is it possible for the battery to corrode/leak and damage the set, especially if stored for the longer term? Any comments? Similarly, I wonder if P…

Are there examples of new sets that were sold out so fast after release and the price just went up immediately within months of its release? I found it is hard to find newly released sets like Mr freeze Batman set and Golden dragon set from Walmart, target or toys r us. I am wondering if I should stock them with retail price from Amazon? Or should I wait for discount?

What is the going rate for bulk LEGO bricks? If I were to offer someone $3/lb would that be an insult? Is there any money to be made in re-selling these? Thanks!

I stopped into a Walmart that is a bit out of the way for me about 4 weeks ago. Asked one of the associates about their legos and he said they have an entire shelf in the back of legos from a few Christmas's ago. I asked if I could have a look and he said the manager, who was out, would have to help me. I tried to call back a few times to no avail, and with vacation last week I didn't have time to get back there. but I thought I'd have time, they had been there 2 or more years after all right..... right......!!! I went back today and spoke with the manager. here is what she said "Oh they are all gone, they told me to mark them all $5.....($5 fre…

Lego boxes are crap. Years ago, they used to have some inner supports to keep the outer boxes from collapsing, but the new versions(even the large boxes), crumble like a house of cards. As a collector, it is hard to keep these boxes in MISB condition. Thoughts?

I was just looking at the best discount list and there are sets with large discount percentages but they are not the actual retail prices. The top two on the list right now are the batcave and a friends set, both of which, if you add up the amazon price and the "saved" price, are well over the retail price. Not sure where the mistake is but they are not correct. Happy Building! Brian

I was bored and ran across this post in the brickset forums (what is the best LEGO set of all time?): http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/13335/what-is-the-best-lego-set-of-all-time#latest The Death Star, Millenium Falcon, and Haunted House were mentioned quite a bit, which didn't surprise me too much, since these are all large LEGO exclusive sets. The one set that was mentioned just as much as these 3 sets that did surprise me though was The Unexpected Gathering. I mean, I personally like this little build myself, but to be mentioned amongst the other big name sets as the best set of all time? That's interesting. I just thought I would post thi…

Hi! I am cleaning out my aunt's house and found that she saved every single Lego set that my cousin ever owned. All of them are still in their original boxes, and almost all of them have their original instructions. I am going through them one by one to make sure every piece is where it belongs but this is going to take forever. I also found some boxes that have never been opened. Is ebay the place to go to see those? I have Space system sets 6803 (Space Patrol), 6822 (Space Digger?) and set 6701 (6 Space mini-figures) that are still in their unopened boxes. There's probably more but I have gotten through all the storage boxes yet. Any advice would be appreciated! T…
