Hi We have a messed up 7199 set which I could spend some time sorting out in order to sell. My question how do I price it. I looked the the info for it and it might fetch in $103 as it's second hand [in Australia]. I looked on ebay and can't see a recently sold set. So how do I know what to price it at? I should mention I have the box and instruction both in vg condition. Thanks! zeee

The IR remote that I ordered in early March finally arrived on Monday. Getting the IR sensor to fit in the box car required a little modification from my original design, and I'm still working on some finishing touches (roof), but overall I am happy with how it's turning out. I'll do a brief write up on the new design, but tourist season is in full swing now so it'll be a while before I will be able to get to it. Anyway I had a couple requests for video so here ya' go...

So, my replacement Cavalries arrived 20 minutes ago... Also in padded envelopes... And in worse shape than the original ones... Unreal.

Disneys themes seem to perform terribly. Not just one but all of Them. Cars and toy story being the worst of them all But even the potc sets have done poorly with the exception of the ships. Why do you think these sets have done so poorly on the after market and do you think the Lone Ranger, Star Wars and the super hero theme could follow (with the exception of exclusives)

A while back, I wrote a blog article about the Bottom 50 LEGO sets, Anatomy of a LEGO Investment Loser. Well, fast forward a year and the lowest of the low, the Toy Story 7591 Construct-a-Zurg, is making a comeback. If you take a look at the BrickIndex, you will see that the 7591 is number #4 on the list, UP 41.84% over the past six months. Not only that, but out of the Top 20 fastest growing sets of the past 6 months, 6 of the 20 sets...or 30%, consist of some of the worst LEGO Investment themes...Toy Story, Prince of Persia, Pharaoh's Quest and Atlantis. Is this the time to invest in these perennial losers?

I was just wondering what effect disney will have on the new Lego Star Wars merket. I am guessing that when the new movie releases in about 2015, what will happen to the Lego Star Wars merket? There probably will be some new sets being made. So the overall question is: Will Disney and the new Star Wars movie help increase the market values and CAGR for the Star Wars set? Please give your opinion!

We know of the film coming out later this year (I think it will be this year) and heard of a rumor for sets based on the film. Well, it is true but perhaps not what you think. The sets based on Disney's Planes....are Duplo! I guess if you have toddlers this is good. Dusty and Chug - $14.99 Ripslinger's Air Race - $24.99 Skipper's Flight School - $39.99

I just started collecting legos recently and cheaply so I've been checking out the local walmarts for clearance. I picked up Macks Road Trip 5816 without any real interest in it, but it was only $30. I've seen them selling for over $100 new, so I was wondering, should I sell now or should I sit on it for a bit? It's a duplo set and a younger theme, doesnt seem like it will get much higher in my opinion, but I've only just started collecting. It's new in box but has a crease/dent in box. Thanks for the help.

Is it just me or is this set over priced? I mean look at the price per piece count in the link. http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=79106-1

Is anyone else as surprised as I am that this set isn't worth more since it EOL'd? It just seems like this is one of the closest and most authentic minifigures Lego may produce with and 'army' type orientation. Maybe a lot of people had the foresight and bought them up with they had the chance. The uniforms and helmets of the minifigures are very nice and nicely colored in particular the medic helmet. I'm surprised it isn't more popular. Just some food for thought.

Hey everyone, just wanted to get your two cents regarding a couple smaller retired sets: 4192 POTC Fountain of Youth 4865 HP Forbidden Forrest. I have a chance to get up to 10 of 4192 for $25 each which includes all taxes and freight from a mom&pop; type shop, and up to 10 of 4865 for $15 which also includes tax and freight.. (I'm in CANADA) Just wondering if these might be good investments? I know both are retired, and 4192 was up almost 9% last month, just wondering where people think these might end up say 2 years down the road thanks for your input in advance! I know this isn't a very exciting post, just trying to use the tools at my disposal to make an investment…

These sets are pretty depressing, even more so when you look at the value of the minifigures on Bricklink. I know that they are a bad investment, but does anyone even like the way they look or the minifigures they come with?

This theme will be coming out soon, and I have no idea what to think of it. (Prince of Persia all over again!) Ok, so I do know what to think, but what are everyone else's opinions? One of their sets I'll be buying in bulk is Tonto's Campfire Polybag. I mean you can't go wrong with a polybag.

I have the chance of picking up a couple of 7597 Western Train Chase at roughly 60% off, what's your opinion on this set? I don't know this particular line very well and I'm second-guessing myself... TY.

I've been to two different Wal-Mart stores in the last week that are clearancing out many of the CARS themed sets, including a lot of 8487 and 8486. Is this theme even worth spending a little bit of money on? Will it ever turn around and be profitable?

Hello fellow members, My sincere apologies for the lack of posts relating to this month's exclusive offer. We've made this set available to all Brickpicker member for $25 (37.5% off retail). You have to sign up as a Brickpicker member in order to receive this offer. Some might think it is not a great deal once you factor in the shipping. This is why we set the limit on this to 10 per customer. The more you buy the cheaper the shipping will be. I would recommend you select the UPS Ground shipping option as it works out the be the cheapest based on our store shipping calculator. We will be double checking on all shipping charges so If our store calculator over charge…

Toy story line has not had much success and so the 2010 sets are currently priced low on one of my local e-shops http://www.rekato.ee/index.php?page=78& (Toy story sets are at the bottom of the page) Toy Story it self has been along for almost 2 decades and with huge success so my thinking would be that their value can only can go up as time goes by. And also we might not see another toy story movie ever so LEGO does not have an excuse to bring back Toy Story on their line ether, especially with their current poor sales. What do you guys think?
