Walmart Deals

My wife and I just dropped off the kids for their first day at school and now we have some free time. We want to get new phones. We are not tech geeks and know very little about all of the new gadgets and gizmos now available. We have had our current phones for at least three years now, maybe longer. I want a new smart phone that will enable me to surf the web, send/receive text msg, and most importantly, use that really cool Walmart app that a lot of members use to check store inventories, get specific prices by store, and to scan items. Thought it would be nice to track all this in one place. Anyone going to be there first thing when they open? Anyone know when they actually open? I'm hoping to score some LR Trains, Jabbas Palace, Unexpected gatherings (I don't know that any of these are going to be on clearance, just hoping) and basically anything else on clearance. Just the other day, I found two polybags at Walmart; one of which is insanely rare! Far as location goes, it really just depends on your store. Check everywhere! Best bet maybe those bins in the middle of the aisles as that was where I found mine. Leonidas' Jungle Dragster (30253) The Toys R Us exclusive polybag back in January. So i was at walmart looking for uruk hai army set and stumbled upon4195 Queen Anne's Revenge for 119.99 but when went to checkout it rang out at 30% off for 79. I guess Christmas came early today for me :)

it was announced that Walmart will start their Black Friday deals early, starting this Friday Nov. 22nd. They'll match any competitors' black Friday prices in store and ONLINE! Just got an email from Walmart about Building Toys rollback prices. LEGO Building Blocks on Rollback at Walmart.com! My favorite is when it something gets reduced by $.01 and they call it a rollback.

Have a feeling you will still get deals. Watch Ebay and Craigslist - these sets are gonna be up there soon for close to half off. Gonna be a lot of people who grabbed stuff and don't care except to flip it for 20$ Could be wrong, but I forsee some constitution trains and Pirate Ambushs, etc. for about $60 or less. Thoughts?

I have daisy chained this deal to get about dozen of the Lego 9488. It's out of stock now however. Paid $10.30 for the first one, and only $5.30 for each one after that. Seems that this one is out of stock online, but there are a few others left available. Nothing I was really interested in however.

First, I always mess up effect and affect so if I used the wrong one in the title, I apologize. So today there were obviously a ton of sets sold at a fraction of a price of what they were supposed to go for...Walmart's Christmas stock on some items is gone before we even reach Dec. (Ok they will prolly stock most of them again before then but they had to have taken a huge blow.) Other retailers selling the same sets prolly also took a blow due to price matching.....I know they only price matched a little while but still enough sets had to have been price matched for them to stop. While not necessarily a deal, I need to blow off some steam about the shipment of B-wings I received from Walmart.com..... So I took advantage of the sale they had where B-wings were like $155. I ordered 3 of them. Two came in the original box that lego shipped them in, but the 3rd came without any box of any kind. They had numbers written on one of the white sides of the box in sharpie marker. They slapped the shipping label right across the front of the ship. When I was looking for the packing slip so I can return this monstrosity at my local store, I could only find the slip for the two in the box. Went to good ole Wal-Mart yesterday and saw an employee boxing up all the clearance toys. I saw her packing away tons of toys and rolling them to the back. I stopped and asked her what they will do with them and she said they were told to box up the clearance to make room for Christmas merchandise. She told me they will eventually bring them back out later. I wonder how many old sets are sitting back there. I'm afraid that I don't have any clearances to report with the start of this thread. I was curious if anyone had any idea of when last years summer clearance reports started rolling in? Are there any sets that should be clearanced out this time of year in favor of the new sets getting the shelf space?

So I hit 7 walmarts over the last few days...my normal hunting route. Most have been reset. ALL have doubled their lego shelving space...which is great news...lego is growing in popularity! One odd thing...none of these have EVER stocked lone ranger.....only target, lego, and disney stocked it around here....until now. Everything that was on clearance was an extra 50% off, so I got Batwing Battle over Gotham for $12.50!

I went on a shopping rampage and could use some advice. I probably pulled the trigger on a lot of these sets when most of you guys wouldn't have, and a lot could be losers. I was also thinking of parting out some of them. I can still return them so. There's a lot to look at here... Any way any advice would be appreciated, Thanks.

I figure this deserves it's own post. If you look at the red clearance tag on the shelf, it shows when the clearance began. In the case of my Walmart, it began 8/2, or last Friday. When you guys go to your walmart next time, see if it is consistent. Maybe they mark things down further on Fridays?

Not the best SB set, but this bundle is cheaper than buying Glove World by itself. SB Mad Libs seems like a decent bonus to throw in when listing SB sets. I have Wal-Mart and Target discount envy reading some posts on here. I have 4 Targets within a 5 mile radius of me and 1 Wal-Mart and never see any deals. I see a red tag every once in a while for a small City set or something like that but never much more than that. I still do enjoy the hunt though.
