  2. Hey folks, don't know if all of you've already heard of this exhibition but since I've been to Chicago the last couple of days I had to visit it. http://www.msichicago.org/explore/whats-here/exhibits/brick-by-brick/ So the Chicago museum of sciense and industry is great as far as I can say after visiting it today! (Don't buy the BB-8 in the robot store for 200+$ though when u can have it for 150 downstairs :-P ). My main reason for visiting has been the brick by brick exhibition though. Even though it has not been as big and LEGO rich as I hoped for it was a lot of fun for me and my parents ^.^ So I'd say they should have added a place wher…

  4. http://brickset.com/article/22334 Interesting to mention his general disappointment in the recent LEGO releases. "The passion I once got seeing new set images is no longer there, whilst this year I have been very critical of a lot of products released by LEGO. This is why I felt it was in the best interest to find new owners who are bigger LEGO fans then me, to take over and inject fresh blood and passion into the site."

Hi everyone. Just seeing if there are any fellow collectors who had a chance to go to Brick Fest (Brick Fiesta) today at the Mesquite Convention in Mesquite,TX. I dropped by this morning and they had some really great customs set up. There were also several vendors but there stuff was so expensive. Anyway, they are having it for one more day on Sunday from 11-4.

Finally getting a chance to go to Brick Fest this year. Anyone else going? My sister and I ( both lego enthusiasts) are taking our families. Any advice or must sees? Hoping to find some sets and pieces I have been looking for at a reasonable price or at least save the shipping:)

hey all... so i was doing research about the various monthly toy box services and i found this company... BRICK LOOT. they just started and i was intrigued by what they had to offer. i've seen the only other lego related box and that's "brick builders club" which left me a little unimpressed. this company though seems to have a lot of potential! check out my unboxing video and let me know what you guys think.

Following the Mack Bros. USA Today appearance, another video that appeared on ABC News 3 days ago was recently released. It included one of the teen members here on Brick Picker. Video: http://www.abc57.com/home/top-stories/Lego-sales-soar-twenty-five-percent-192759171.html In relation to Lego sales growing by 25%, the number of AFOLs, investors and collectors. Just a little warning/my prediction of the future of Lego Investing: More people investing = more people buying and storing sets for the long term = sets don't increase as much in the future because there are more of those sets out there. Kind of like the Live Star. ;)

  14. I just wanted to see if any members on here buy Brickmania.com kits. They have great customer service and I have bought a couple of their kits. Here's a chunk from their "about us" page. "Founded by independent designer Daniel Siskind in 1999, Brickmania has become known for offering high quality building kits made from genuine LEGO brand parts, but in subjects falling outside the company's official product line at the time of their release. These include medieval and renaissance castles, age of pirates and colonization, and military models from World War I, World War II, and modern warfare." Their kits are more pricey but they are truly worth it. Let me know below if …

I have been watching the site and contributed only a couple of times, so, as someone relatively new, I get kind of lost when reading posts from people and see things such as "YMMV" or "AS." (I know 'AS' is Architecture Studio but no clue still about the other) I can figure it out if I read enough posts, but I thought this forum could be used for people to ask questions about abbreviations and for more active members to share any they may be willing to. I know there isn't a universal system for these abbreviations but maybe some order could be made.

I am literally glued to my monitor from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep. This addiction is crazy!! It's worse than smoking!! One time I ripped my brother's tablet from his hands and in ten seconds knew everything that was happening in the forums. Care to name a time your BP addiction got to you? I'm anxious to here others stories. Think of this like a small group session!

Hi. I have been looking at the TIE Intercepter, Set 7181, and the market value, according to BP, if I understand it correctly is about $375 new and $150 used. However, when I got to Amazon to buy it, the selling price is $799, and when I go to e-bay, the lowest value is $500. My question is: Where does BP get there values from, and what good is their evaluations if you can not get it for that price? This is NOT a criticism.....I am a newbie here and am just trying to learn how to buy, what to buy, when to buy and what price to pay. Grandpa

Hello everyone- Just wanting to find out from those based in the US who have sent subscription to the Bricks and Bricks Culture magazines, if you already received Issue #1? It's been almost two months since I paid and I still have to receive anything in the mail. All I got a few weeks back was an e-mail on how to access it electronically. I see that Issue #2 is soon to be out. Any info is appreciated. Thank you.

Here is a short feature (eight minutes) JANGBRiCKS uploaded recently briefly going over the history of all interlocking types of bricks including ones many probably never even heard of. Roughly halfway through towards the end, he shows some of the original instructions among other memorabilia of these long past forgotten relics in inspired creativity.
