I had a chance to buy some Mega Blocks at a garage sale. Are they worth anything in comparison to Legos? How do they compare to Legos?

Here I thought the sponge in brick form just dried up but instead find out that the license was acquired by Mega Bloks. Well I guess you just can't keep a good sponge down. Rather weird actually seeing the Invisible Boatmobile considering it is supposed to be, well, 'invisible'.

Mega Bloks TMNT at the New York Comic-Con. It looks as though they plan on tackling the original cartoon style plus the latest running one for Nickelodeon and some 'Half Shells' offshoot similar to LEGO's DUPLO for young children I guess.

Mega Bloks Star Trek revealed at the New York Comic-Con. Everything so far has been based on the original classic television series that started it all.

I just caught this in the news feed and Brickshow is reporting there will be Mega Man based sets from off brand Nanoblocks which you may remember Brianl3 has written a blog on. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qi-6vfzKRkw All I can say is....really? A BIG name like Capcom and they go with a brand most have not even heard of or possibly care about. Plus the designs are basically renditions of 8-bit sprites from the NES which is kinda geeky cool but typically done for fun with your own bricks and hardly fits as an actual set. A line which could have been a minifigure goldmine with numorous playsets and enemies instead was allowed to be turned into a collection of thre…

Had to post this. I had a dream last night that I was scooping up deals at a Meijers last night. Understand that 1) I have never had a dream about buying lego before, and (2) I have never set foot in or have any idea what a Meijers looks like as we don't have them in Canada. In my dream it was basically a Wal-mart with a Meijers sign, and for some reason I was getting a lot of the Yoda and 501st recon walker set for $3 each. I have been reading about the big scores members have made there too long now it seems as it's invading my private dream space. Bizarre.

This is for people who also think the LEGO company should release Military. That would be cool, because we could get official AH-64s and M1A1s and stuff. Who agrees?

Do any of you ever buy the mysterious "x" number of lbs grab bags of miscellaneous lego parts? What are your thoughts on these mystery bags ? I have scoured some of the thrift stores in my area and while I have turned up a huge amount of sets I have found some rather interesting finds a few months back I picked up 8 bags of legos at a good will for $45 and I think there may have been an old star wars tie fighter in the bag. A Friend of mine went to a good will and picked up two huge bags of legos one had a super star destroyer kit or a least part of it , and the other bag her scored had a star wars AT Walker kit in it both bags cost him less than $30. So your opinions f…

We added this Miscellaneous Forum Category so that Brickpicker Members can post any sort of question or interesting topic. LEGO topics are preferable, but not necessary, as long as they are interesting and of value to other members. Also, no spam or obscene posts. Feel free to post MOCs, LEGO collection pictures, general LEGO questions about building, colors, pieces...whatever. Thanks... Ed Mack

The rosters were announced on Saturday. I'm an A's fan, so seeing Bartolo as the only A's player selected ticked me off a bit. Balfour should've gone, Donaldson could also have been selected but there are bigger names - not stats - on the AL roster. I know that Ed is a Yankee fan, anyone else here follows MLB? How did your team fare?

For anyone who may have collected this piece of LEGO history or wanted to should read this Brickset article. Here's the short of it. Modulex Bricks were an offshoot for the LEGO company way back in 1962 to be used in architectural and commercial purposes. The pieces were considerably smaller than their standard LEGO bricks and could be considered on par in size with the current Nanoblocks product of another company. Talk of reviving the Modulex line spur until early January this year when it seems the parent company for The LEGO Group, KIRKBI/AS, cancelled the whole thing without any plans of future production. To better help give some visuals as to the size of Modu…

I was recently interested in diagon valley set. Of course, I know it has retired. I still want to grab some at current price in secondary market because I do believe their value will increase over time if hold on to them longer. I just heard from one collector that he or she has more than 50 sets of this set. .....Is that how other collectors do or invest? I understand the concept of diversifying the investment. However, more than 50 sets?!

Just cruising BrickPicker news after a big day and what should I come across but an article about my upcoming holiday venture switch bricks - the article is "rebuilding the world brick by brick". Very cool to see my humble little article pop up internationally on the Brickpicker site ! While I don't do a lot of trading/investing in LEGO Switch Bricks is my way of enjoying my hobby and sharing it with others. If you're an aussie using this site, in South East Queensland and have Kiddies that love LEGO too check out the article
