...the internet tax is right around the corner. I http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_BUDGET_BATTLE_INTERNET_SALES_TAX?SITE=AP&SECTION=HOME&TEMPLATE=DEFAULT&CTIME=2013-03-22-20-13-33 ...these clowns have no idea how to solve any problem without throwing money at it. (Which creates more problems.) (While I am not sure the details of the this exact piece of s#$t legislation, rumor has it they will only tax those who sell over 1 million dollars in revenue? IDK but I HAAAATE Washington...what a bunch of clowns.)

Filming for the 2016 Batman/superhero movie is well underway in Toronto, Canada. Jared Leto as Joker. The downtown area, Yonge Street in particular is busy with crash scenes. Here's a picture (source by Paul Hillier on twitter & TorontoStar) apparently of the Joker-mobile - cool. Wait and see if Lego makes this car in a set.

This is somewhat old, but recently it has been in the news again due to the upcoming orbital insertion of the Juno spacecraft around Jupiter. I thought it was neat, so decided to share this. The Juno spacecraft is due to start orbital insertion manoeuvres tomorrow. Once in orbit, it will begin sending data back to earth, hopefully revealing much about the atmosphere and magnetic field of the planet. It will be the closest a spacecraft has ever been to the planet. The Juno spacecraft is carrying three Aluminium figures. The specially-constructed LEGO Minifigures are of the Roman god Jupiter, his wife Juno, and "father of science" Galileo Galilei. The i…

  10. https://www.slashfilm.com/battle-at-big-rock-jurassic-world-short-film/ This short film is set between JW 2 and upcoming JW 3. "Here’s the official synopsis: The short takes place one year after the events of the last Jurassic World film in Big Rock National Park, where dinosaurs are now living in our world. The story follows a family of four whose encounter with these wild animals becomes a terrifying fight for survival Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ended with a fascinating cliffhanger: dinosaurs were set free and roaming around the United States. Jurassic World 3 won’t hit theaters until 2021, but you can see how filmmaker Colin Trevorrow capital…

  11. Hey, BPers! In addition to being a fellow investor and Lego-Dad, I'm a filmmaker, and I just completed a mash-up of The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy. The two films are virtually identical story-wise, so I edited footage from both into a single video, cutting back and forth seamlessly. I'm very proud of the way it turned out, and I think you guys in particular will enjoy it. Thanks for watching! John EDIT: Apparently I have no idea how to embed. Thanks to TheGallows for posting a link.

  12. Had a wedding this weekend in Indy. The city is very compact and clean. There are many trendy stores, bars, and nightspots like theaters and concert halls. The odd thing was that no one lives in the city and the streets were empty until after 6pm. There are a few high-rises and office buildings, but nothing that is considered a condo or living complex. My niece has an office downtown and lives in Carmel, but told me that downtown is pretty ghosttownish since no one actually lives there. Anyway, they have a Lego Store, but we left before the rains hit and they were not open yet. I live in/near Chicago and have lived in Boston and San Antonia, and Indianapolis i…

Some of us members have little kids or remember when your kids were small...here's my story. My son is 3.5yrs old and this spring I built a Star Wars MOC to surprise him, even mom didn't have a clue I turned one of our rooms into Lego fun room. So a MOC is never truly 100% done so I showed it to him anyways...he was excited walking around the table looking at all the pieces and minifigs. Only missing Darth Vader and I need to open an Empire Strikes Out dvd for him...but at one end of the table is a 'bad guys' base with conference room, table + chairs etc. Seated are Darth Maul, Palpatine, Asajj Ventress, Count Doku, Nute Gunray and Savage Opress. My son says…

I could not believe what this raggedy company was able to get away with from a Paypal purchase! http://news.yahoo.com/woman-gets--3-500-fine-and-bad-credit-score-for-writing-negative-review-of-business-233833012.html Customer gets a refund, but then fined 3,500 and a negative credit score due to merchandise that was never shipped. This crap is just nuts.

Yes, I know it is one of the knockoff brands but news is news. Besides, a good collector/investor should know what the competition is releasing. Anyway, here are various images of the sets out for release this year.

I saw this the other day on Amazon.com along with the other new Star Trek sets. Some of them look pretty sharp to me. Anyone else feel the same draw to pick the iconic Enterprise or other assorted sets?

  18. A long time acquaintance of mine, a Mr. Ralph Pitcher from Firebuy.com, has come to me with a tremendous offer. Ralph owns an equipment liquidating company which was hired by Target to remove store displays from over 1500 Target stores from across the US. These displays included many of the LEGO and toy displays you see in the toy isles of your local Target. He sold thousands of these displays over the past 4-5 years, many to me. LOL. He is a first class operator and is looking to sell his remaining inventory in one or two large transactions. Here is a basic list of what he is selling: Lego Cars 2 - 144Lego Gold Mine - 58Lego Friends - 135Lego Alien Conquest - 105L…

I know that LEGO investing does not really give you the chance to really open the boxes and dump pieces all over the place, but I am sure that there are plenty of you here that still have many open sets and kids that love their sets. I saw the following product on TV and thought it was a very good idea, especially for the kids. A very simple way to allow everyone to play, but is great for very quick clean up. So, maybe you have not seen this and can find some use for some storage and easy access for building fun. Lay-n-Go Original Activity Mat Lay-n-Go Lite Travel/Mini Activity Mat

  23. It's interesting to think about how LEGO is so much more than just a plastic brick making company now. ...might be worth thinking about. http://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/advisor/build-brand-content-empire-learn-lego-131516058.html Although the best way for our existing sets to go way up in value if for LEGO to go out of business (Just kidding!)

  24. My backordered Winter Holiday Train arrived and the shipping box included this "collect them all" sticker. Normally, I'd just give something like this away, but if there's some mystery or bigger game to it, I'd hold onto it. It seems silly in its simplicity and plainness to make 4 generic brick stickers a worthy marketing campaign. Oh wait, maybe if you collect all 4, you get banned. I see what's going on now.
