  3. Did you make a LEGO-themed Halloween costume, or see any great ones this year? I'd love to see what everyone else created! I had a great time creating both a Unikitty and a Benny the spaceman costume for Halloween this year! I got to wear my Benny costume at work and a party at our house that evening. LEGO Movie Unikitty and Benny costumes. My colleagues wearing LEGO Movie costumes at work. Sincerely, ---tom

hey all... so i was doing research about the various monthly toy box services and i found this company... BRICK LOOT. they just started and i was intrigued by what they had to offer. i've seen the only other lego related box and that's "brick builders club" which left me a little unimpressed. this company though seems to have a lot of potential! check out my unboxing video and let me know what you guys think.

So having been reintroduced (had a big collection when I was a kid) to Lego through my son, I've been wondering if there are any comprehensive and feature-heavy social networks out there dedicated to Lego that people enjoy using (for non-kid fans)? The one that stands out in my findings is TLG's own Rebrick, but I hear that it's more like a Lego-specific Pinterest. I guess I'm trying to find a site that does it all - eg. cataloging sets, sharing custom-builts, reviews, news, non-Flash/HTML5 webpage games between registered members (say like players posting images of original creations based on the pieces of a certain set, then the registered community voting for the…

I've been attending the BrickCon Public Expo in Seattle for years, but had never displayed my models before or participated in the longer 4-day Private Convention. I just completed an in-depth write-up that goes "behind the scenes" at one of the largest and oldest LEGO conventions for AFOL's. Some of my highlights: Seeing large LEGO models get re-assembled was really interesting. I loved playing the LEGO games like the "Blind Build" shown here. Displaying my models for the first time to the Public was really cool. As always, there were impressive new models on display at the Public Exhibition. LINK TO LONGER ARTICLE AND MO…

  11. So I just saw this blog article: Link And I took offense in her saying "**** you lego" as I personally do love LEGO. Another thing is I am strongly against feminism. To me this is no longer a female enpowering movement that is needed but rather a terrosist group. It's true that there are more male minifigures but to be fair right from the start LEGO actually did have female minifigures as well. Keeping in mind that the main target group have been boys (I would say). And yeah like one of the comments said: There actually is a lack of strong male characters in BARBY as well but nobody gives a damn about it. I feel that LEGO gives their customers a high flexibili…

"According to The Guardian, "After The LEGO Movie, watch out for the LEGO reality TV show. The Danish toymaker is following the global success of its foray into Hollywood films with a move into TV next year." Jill Wilfert, LEGO vice-president of global licensing and distribution, says that LEGO is "exploring some reality competition show formats, which is new for us: the idea of becoming a Master Builder is something we think could be quite resonating". Maybe it'll be like The Apprentice but with building tasks and a job as a master builder for the winner..." Sounds cool.

Not sure when and where the term EOL began, but for some reason it just doesn't sound as good as just saying a set is or has been retired. Saying "that set is EOL" doesn't even sound like proper English(that set is end of line). Can't we just say it's been retired? Anyone else feel the same?

Interesting Video posted on CNN today 'A 3-D printer created this shoe'. I'm impressed with the 16 different printing colors and the fact it can print in two different plastics - ABS and compostable PLA. Legos are made of ABS, although I doubt the exact formula is known (often extra ingredients are added to change the plastic properties). 3D Printing in Vibrant Colors and ABS plastic Interesting that today is 3/18 and the video says it was added on 3/31! You too can see the future, lol Color Cartridge info The cartridges start at $49 and the printer is $1,299. I still think it will be decades until it could compete with Lego's price per piece (if ever!…

I came across this 4-part web-series where numerous Adult Fans of LEGO were interviewed on many aspects of LEGO in their life. Check it out, fellow brickers. Part 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JWqkErZsqo Part 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FRMDxmL3BQ Part 3 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IoxSvJuBOU Part 4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zn9MbHVyItg Each clip averages to about 6-7 minutes, so you might want some popcorn or something to snack on in the meantime.

  19. I am going to donate/send a med size box of Lego and a birthday card (not sure of the set yet) to this boy. What do you think Star Wars or Castle series or both? I just found this on my local KSDK news site and it links bck to the original article. http://www.kvue.com/story/news/nation/2014/07/19/boy-battling-cancer-only-wants-a-box-of-birthday-cards-for-his-birthday/12887255/ Danny's birthday is July 25. All cards can be mailed the Nickerson's home addressed: Remember he is only 6. Danny Nickerson, P.O. Box 212, Foxboro, MA, 02035. I am not sure how adept/able he may be to play or build them. Not sure if it's mentioned yet or not..... Just read the news that the Deadpool movie is apparently coming in 2016 http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/x-men-spinoff-deadpool-gets-734172 Does this mean keeping the Wolverine Chopper sets or selling them sooner because there will be another Deadpool release?

  23. Hey everybody, I was just wondering if anybody could tell me where to find old lego catalogues online. I've already found 2013 and 2012 but couldn't find 2011 or 2010... etc. Would appreciate any help, maybe you could upload it here or post a link. (Would be nice though to have a collection available here I guess). As the files are too big I cannot attach them here, but here are links: http://www.brickstore.at/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/lego_juli-dezember_2013.pdf http://cache.lego.com/Flash/Portal/OnlineCatalog/Version11/pageflipdata/pdf/lego_juli_dezember_2012.pdf
