I'll bet on 7939 coz: 1. Produced in 2010, 2 years already. 2. Train series with power unit, all time favorite 3. Many special features like mini cars, yellow Lego container, red truck... 4. Yellow color is much better than red (3677) as a "Cargo train" (just my personal point of view) I think it will EOL soon and will raise to over $200 by the end of this year, after Lego announced some new trains for 2013. Any thoughts?

Hi everyone, Does anyone has an idea of the value of the rare train set "65537-1: Classic Freight Train"? The only information that I found is here were the price is around 185$ and on bricklink (just one set) http://www.bricklink.com/catalogPriceGuide.asp?S=65537-1 were the value is around 2600 EUR. I know it is a really rare set but how to put a value on it. The set is NISB because there is a little wearing on the box. Can somebody help with this. Thanks, Anthony

Just like the title says. I have one that runs for about a minute but slows then stops completely. I know the seller I got the lot from washed everything including the track and motor so I am assuming its just cooked. I took it apart and there is a unique motor in there that looks like it would be impossible to find. Anyone repaired one? Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, while checking out TRU, I noticed they had the 10507 - DUPLO My First Trian Set marked at half off TRU prices in store. Checking their website, they have it listed as out of stock, and I notice that none of the other big player retailers have the set in stock/listed on their website. It still is listed as Avail now on SHOPLEGO, but I have a strong feeling this set is heading for a very quick retirement. It's shocking because the previous incarnation of this set was out for 4-5 years, and this one came out in Aug 2013. So either there may have been a mistake with the set itsellf, or DUPLO may be replacing it or possibly even moving away from …

I didn't understand the problem with flexible tracks and de-railings. I didn't,t have this problem ... Until I rebuilt my track. I noticed that the individual pieces have small half circular joints in the middle. I texted and found that when these were all facing the same way, I had no issues. When I mixed them up again, I had problems again. These tracks work great !

This post is strictly because I'm curious. Why did Lego do off with 9V trains? Was it a safety issue with kids and plugging something in? Will they go back to 9V?

With the New Passenger and Cargo Train out in the wild these sets (IMO) have a very limited shelf life left. Are the new ones better, perhaps. But that is not the question to be asking. If you can find a discount, can you make mad Lego cash on the retireing sets? That my Lego friends is the question worth asking. Lego is nearly sold out of both. We have seen sets go from sold out directly to retirement. I don't see a lot of business sense in keeping the old stock around for TLG. For once Toys R Us does not have them in stock online. BTW Walmart online still has both (7939 - 7938) in stock slightly less than retail +TAX...at those prices not…

Any thoughts on this set as an investment? I haven't collected a ton of trains yet, but as part of a city layout this seems like it could be interesting, particularly paired with the Passenger Train or Horizon Express. As an aside, some sort of large train station for the Creator Modular series would be pretty awesome. I am surprised they haven't done a train station with a bigger piece count yet.

Folks, I bought a partial used 9v train set...looks like most of it is there--but no directions. I made a quick track circuit and put the base engine (with metal wheels) on...turned on the juice...but no motion. Light turns green on power pack. Anybody know what usually goes wrong with these--or what to check? I was just going to make sure the stuff worked--then list as partial kit used on eBay. Came as part of a lot I bought...wasn't too interested....but for 50 bucks...thought I wouldn't lose and lady really wanted me to buy everything.

I assume that trains with power functions included in the box are better investments, but has anyone done a study or a blog about ones that retired in the past to prove this? I need to know whether to pursue the Horizon Express.

Last May, I purchased an incomplete 10132 Motorized Hogwarts set for $50. After all this time, I finally had a chance to open the ziplocks. It contained 95% of the locomotive, 85% of the tender, and 100% of the passenger train. 2 straight tracks, and the 9v engine. Some of the 2-story train station elements are also there. Then I noticed some unfamiliar elements. It had many extra red, dark gray, light gray, black transparent windows, black elements, 1 mini-fig with a red scarf, and two 16x32 light gray colors. There were also some smaller tools, chrome elements, doors, etc... I did some research and discovered the non-10132 elements are from the lesser know but …

Anyone else think this set will be parted out (especially if discounted a lot) for the track? It appears to have 16 curved and 4 straight PF tracks in "Dark Bley". The curved tracks are quite costly on the secondary market since flex tracks aren't very popular. As noted, retail price is 99.99. Granted, that might be higher price for parting out (unlike other sets with a decent amount of desirable minifigs. E.g. Jabba's Palace)

Can I have some comment on this Ghost Train 9467? Do you think it will do well as one of a train? I'm considering buying the lone ranger 79111 Constitution Train Chase. Should I also buy the ghost or lone ranger train? Or both?

I haven't bought a lego train set yet so I don't know the radius, will my table be big enough for it and a bunch of modular buildings? Thanks.

I'm getting ready to turn my son's wooden push train table (like Thomas) into a smaller sized lego train table. Just wondering if many of you use baseplates under your track? His trains will be the Ghost Train, Potter's Hogwarts Express with 2 cars and a caboose, and the Toy Story Western one. I have both 9v and PF track. I will most lilely use the PF track (save the 9v for Christmas time) around the tree. Trains speeds will be kept slow in the table. I will also remove the motor from time to time to allow him "push the train" time.

I have castles from the mid-1980s so i know the color diff. I was wondering more about the track quality and design. The dark gray tracks are far more available and cheaper in most cases than the dark bluish gray.
