I could not find a standalone thread for this set hence I created a new one. I bought and built one which I found it to be very impressive with accurate representation of the landmarks. It looks as well better than the other two cities skyline, namely Berlin and Venice. I'm wondering would this consider a good investment set or best to wait towards the EOL before start hoarding the set.

I had the pleasure of building an intricate LEGO Ideas model of Machu Picchu, built in the style of the official LEGO Architecture sets. The model was designed by Diego Baca, a proud Peruvian who wanted to help LEGO enthusiasts learn more about the globally recognized UNESCO World Heritage site. Not only did Diego build the model both digitally and using LEGO bricks, he also created a beautiful instruction manual in the style of official LEGO Architecture sets, and a matching glossy box. I had a lot of fun building the model using the easy-to-follow directions. The completed model is immediately recognizable, and looks great next to the official sets…

We may as well have a dedicated thread for the Paris skyline as well. I'm curious to hear what others think, both about the set as a whole, and as an investment. I tend to think that the Skylines will remain popular after retirement, but I also think that sets that sell well will remain in production for a long time (ex: New York skyline) Here's a link to my review of the set: http://brickarchitect.com/2018/review-21044-lego-paris-skyline/ I will admit that I'm a bit hardcore when it comes to reviewing sets. It really is a "good" set, but so is almost every other official LEGO product. That's why I called out gripes about the Arc de Triomphe and …

With two skylines coming out in January, it seems like time to start the official thread for the upcoming San Francisco set. I'm pleased to share the first review of the set, from my Brick Architect website. LINK: http://brickarchitect.com/2018/review-21043-lego-san-francisco-skyline/ The relevant details for the BrickPicker audience is that it is a very attractive set once built, and I believe it will be of interest both to collectors and people who have a fondness for San Francisco. I suspect resale will be good when discontinued, especially since the San Francisco Bay Area is packed with wealthy tech employees, and it would make a great gift. …

I had so much fun interviewing Rok Zgalin Kobe about the LEGO Architecture theme earlier this year. It's rare to get an opportunity to get inside the minds of the creative genius designers at LEGO, so I thought you might enjoy some selected highlights from my interview! Highlights from: ɪɴᴛᴇʀᴠɪᴇᴡ: Rok Žgalin Kobe on LEGO Architecture I started with the same question I asked Jamie - how do you decide what building to make into a LEGO Architecture set? Is it based on market research, your passion, or to coincide with when a new LEGO store is opening? Rok Žgalin Kobe: "It’s actually a combination of them all, and really depends on the model. One might stem fr…

I just did an in-depth analysis of the new Venice Cityscape model. I hope that it helps you decide if this is a model you want to add to your collection! In summary: It's a nice model if you can look past some of the artistic liberties. Unfortunately, the 29.99$ price is pretty outrageous for just 212 bricks. (By contrast, the Berlin model is also 29.99$ but 289 bricks.) It's odd to me how inconsistent their pricing can be for similar sets.212 bricks included in the setThe part selection is pretty good despite the high price tag. I enjoyed the printed lion brick, as well as the white microfigures. (This is the first time they have appeared in this color.)One of the qu…

I had the pleasure of building and reviewing a new custom LEGO Architecture set which was created to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Capitol Records. The kit is designed by Adam Ward, a talented LEGO artist who does commissioned work, and works at Bricksburg on the LEGO movies. 'Capitol Records Tower' by Adam Ward. 642 Pieces, 200$, Capitol Records Tower is an iconic round tower in Hollywood, California. Many people believe that the circular design is meant to evoke the appearance of a stack of records, but this is just a happy coincidence; the architect proposed the round shape to reduce the building’s construction costs and air conditioning needs. …

I don't know if these will retire anytime soon, but for those of you who part out sets this one is a great buy. There are 82 Sand Green slopes which sell on average for 0.12 each so $9.84 in those alone. The entire set has averaged $54.42 for the last 6 months. You can often pick these up for $20-24 and once it goes EOL, so will the supply of those slopes.

This appears to finally be gone from most retailers. My expectations aren't as high for this set as with the other Architecture recently retiring soon sets but hopefully, its shorter lifespan will help. Anyway, it's only currently available online from B&N & back orderable from LEGO Shop at Home. https://shop.lego.com/en-US/Flatiron-Building-21023 http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/toys-games-lego-architecture-flatiron-21023/28514920?ean=0673419232180

Hi all, I have got reliable informations that the next landmark set will come from Germany at the end of this year and will be the Reichstag building: It would also fit into the schema of the last made english landmark Big Ben - similar build for both.

So, this set was released in January & sale priced in May for $23.99 at LEGO Shop at Home. I did pick up a bunch during the 20% off sale but I will be very disappointed if this one is going so soon & I wasn't paying attention. It's currently sold out at Amazon, FAO, Target, Toys R Us & Walmart. Now, I only see it available at LEGO Shop at Home for online purchasing...
