Hi all, I'm Dan, a Brit living in France with my family. My young son has recently gotten into Lego which has also prompted my return to building and collecting after many years - 25 to be exact. One of the main reasons for venturing in here was confusion over one particular set... but I'll post elsewhere on that! Since picking my son a set up on vacation in Florida last year, the collection has grown enormously... but the trick is keeping his sticky mitts off of the collection as opposed to the ones he can play with! Still, back at my gparents' house there is a chest full of the stuff I had in my childhood... and next time I'm there I'm going to have to figure out …

A quick hello to all... I've been collecting Lego sets for almost 10 years now. I am also investing on some big sets hoping to sell them when their market value goes up. I love the modulars and the architecture series. I am also a mother to a 9yo boy who loves everything Lego.

Hi I am Stacey from Hong Kong. You know most girls love Christmas so much, because of those ad pictures, the design and color they used are really eyes catching. Because of the Christmas sets, I became a Lego fan. I wish I could have more space to display all Christmas set and 10211, 10224, 10197, 10214 etc, however Hong Kong is a really small city with over 7 million people. Even we don't have space for displaying Lego, we still buy a lot, but never open it. Haha Now i start to invest in Lego and thankful that so much useful information in here. Thank you and nice to meet you all

I am new to this site, but have some exciting things coming up for all you "vintage" Lego hunters. I have many sets to post and they are all oringinal LEGO'S in the original boxes!! What fun it will be to look through them. I am going to catalog them first and them post them all at once so you can see all of them and decide if you are interested :-) Looking forward to talking with some of you. Have a great Sunday!!

Hello from New Jersey! I am just getting started in investing in Legos and literally registered on this site yesterday. I've always been a lego nut and actually thought of the idea of investing in them a few weeks ago before even realizing all of these people already do it! While I'm learning the ropes, I'll start with a question. I have a brand new set 6901 (mobile lab) still in the box and even in the store's plastic wrap. It's never been opened, let alone assembled/played with. It's a space set from 1980. When I look up the value on this site, it says $456. Could that possibly be correct? It seems that I have nothing to compare it to since the eBay, etc. listin…

Hi, I'm new to investing and only really decided to invest/collect after buying a few of the UCS Star Wars for my son over the last year and was so impressed with the displays. My son has built and has proudly displayed a R2D2 (10225) a Red 5 X-Wing (10240) and soon (his 13th birthday is this Friday) a SSD 10221. In my investment collection which will remain sealed except for doubles where my son will get one when it's a birthday etc I have : 2x Red 5 X-wings 10240 - got 20% off R2D2 -10225 - No discount but I had to have a new one for myself after seeing my sons built one. 2x 75021 republic Gunships - got 30% off 2x Millennium Falcon 7965 - Full price…

I just joined Brickpicker yesterday and I've added most of my sets. From what I've heard, Lego SW is the best investment along with Ninjago. What new lego SW sets being sold in stores or lego.com now would be good to invest in. Thanks.

Hey everyone! So... I generally live in Cancun, grew up in Miami, have a longtime gf studying her PhD in Portugal, have lived in Montreal, and have a brother at UBC in Vancouver I've been wanting/meaning to get by brickfolio updated as I think it's an awesome idea, but just musing about the internet watching youtube videos made me want to start a 'wishlist' for sets on here. I then realized that I can't seem to find this function anywhere. Does it exist? If so, it'd be great to be able to click + add sets when searching for their value. Anyway, hope to be a bit more active in the community. Only ever wanted Lego sets as a kid, and no…

Hello everyone, I'm French, close to my 30 y/o and I played with legos all my childhood. I spent hours on it, making the most powerful robots in the universe. I discovered that we could invest in legos quite recently, and so I bought two boxes that I keep closed and protected. The Ford Mustang, and James Bond's Aston Martin. I do not yet know the mistakes that can be made, which legos should be invested in and which should not, etc. I hope to learn all this by reading you here. If you have tips or topics to read recommended, feel free to list them here. I started with the topics : "Listing Dos and Don’ts for the New LEGO Investor" and "New to Selling Lego?…

Hello Brickpickers! I just saw the Lego movie and it seems to have lit the long dormant Lego spark from my childhood. I found this site and you guys have a very interesting approach to Lego (investing) that I'd love to learn more about. I want to give it a try and I'm ever so slowly learning how to start. I'll take any advice you guys are willing to share and I'm looking forward to being part of this forum! -nigh

Hey everyone! Just introducing myself as I'll probably be using this site and posting in the forum a lot once I get started on this. I've been out of work on disability for a while because of a serious illness, but while I've been recovering I've had a lot of free time and I've been living in my childhood bedroom back at the parents house. I jumped back into one of my old hobbies, comic books, about a year ago, which got me into 1/6th scale statue and toy collecting, but recently my eye for toys has started to focus on something a little smaller: the little lego guys. The reason I was so excited to get back into comic books was because they were a huge part of my …

Hi all, Thought I'd stop by an introduce myself as a sumbled across your site when trying to find out more about lego, as over the past few weeks it appears I have become a wife to a secret lego wanting husband and mother to two lego wanting young girls! So far the girls are happy to just play with whatever I can get cheap! and we did pick them up some lego movie stuff on a recent trip so I think this has got them onto the ideas of sets being available and I'm already seeing first drafts of birthday lists with Elsa, cinderella et al. set's on so I guess we're into disney princess teritory. As for my hubby he's decided now is a god time to get back to h…

Greetings from Seattle. My name is Bill. I'm 46, father of two boys, and am currently reliving my boyhood with them, hopefully not through them. Turning a profit and having fun at the same time?... I'm intrigued. I just bought some stock in 9676 so I'm looking forward to see how they perform in the next 10-15years.

Hello fellow Pickers, My name is Margo Lane. I am not a bricker, I am a widow... with a treasure trove! I have some really nice, really old lego sets from the 1970s and 80s that are I think rare in this condition. Like New in the Box with instructions. I would like to begin to post pictures however there are literally hundreds of sets to photograph and catalog which will take a deal of time. From what I can think of off the top of my head, there are entire galaxy space command sets upon sets upon sets, the moon landing, and moon buggies.- All early 70s - all in the box, all with instructions. And I believe most all are complete sets. They were kept by a librarian f…

Hello all--I've been "lurking" for a few weeks and picking up little nuggets of knowledge. I've bought and sold Lego (mostly to support my own Lego hobby, a minor one compared to most), for about 10 years. This is the first time I've seriously considered a plunge into full scale investing. Anyway... good to be here.

Hi there, Just stumbled upon this awesome site and registered! Have been a AFOL for a few years now after getting the 10030 set and then started collecting Star Wars. I've recently decided to do a bit more Lego investing and have picked up a few sets. I've also stopped collecting Star Wars and am moving into the LOTR range. Cheers G

I'm pretty much brand new to brick picking. I got into it when I found a couple of nice Star Wars sets at a second hand store and looked up their values. I guess I always new that the bricks had value, but the idea of attempting to figure out if they were complete was off-putting. However, I realized that brick picking fits nicely with my current addiction to board game collecting (1000 games and counting!). Since then I've found some great deals for legos including a few free curbside pickups (one yesterday had 100 minifigs) and a like new 6073. I find the thrill of looking through large lots for pieces to be one of the main draws for me at this point. Thanks!

I am looking to get a set for my daughter I made this video to show what is currently available in my local toy store (the week before christmas). Her Birthday is in February so I can wait until after all of the Christmas madness. But I am looking for any suggestions for set series to get into with her. I am thinking I am gonna have to bite the bullet and go for the disney princesses one, but was wondering if there was a more gender neutral one that would also work? TIA!

Hello to everyone. This is my first post, so I figured I would start with a quick introduction as my first post. I was a Lego fan in my youth, having collected a few small sets, but was reintroduced at X-mas when my sister and brother-in-law (who is a huge Lego fan and Architect) got me the Mini Cooper set (10242). This sparked a bit of an addiction, and I've since purchased half a dozen decent size sets, a ton of minifigs, and miscellaneous other items. A full-on addiction has started, hunting for sales at local toy sellers, and plotting my own MOCs. Hopefully I can contribute to the forum, and feed my addiction through discussion and speculation, potentially lessening t…

I have a very long story as to how I got (back) into LEGO collecting a few months ago, but it is not all that interesting, so I will tell the short version. It pretty much was the result of a trip to the LEGO store at the Mall of America when I took my kids to the park there, and we went in search of LEGO Indiana Jones figures. To my dismay, the sets were long since discontinued, so I had to resort to the secondary market. Needless to say, I was blown away by how the prices and values of LEGOs skyrocket in such a short time. I was also very excited to see all the cool themes that were available, so I instantly picked up where I left off 20 years ago and bought some …
