Hello everyone, my name is Anthony. As I'm sure most of you have, I grew up with Legos as a kid and now I'm looking to hunt down some of the sets that I always wanted. I've always been a huge fan of the realistic vehicular Lego models, such as the Model Team sets (5561, 5563, 5571, 10151) and the intricate Technic car models such as 8880 and 8448. I spent a lot of time drooling over these sets in the catalogs as a kid. Right now, 10151 is the only model I currently have (it was my #1 Christmas list item for many years) and I hope to slowly add the others over the next several years. This seems like a great place for information on all types of sets, and I look forwar…

  2. Hello everyone, my name is Henry Brower. I am 17 years old, a senior in high school, and live in Central California. I just read a very interesting artical in USAToday ( http://m.usatoday.com/article/news/1732525?preferredArticleViewMode=single ) and I became instantly interested in LEGO investing. I like the fact that, unlike stocks, if you fail to make a profit you still have the set. I am considering making a purchase of a set around $100-300 to try this out. Any advice on what would be the perfect buy would be great! Or anything else you want to plant in my brain. Thanks. -Henry

Hi all, I'm based in the UK on the south coast. I've been playing with Lego all my life, and still do with my 11 year old son. I only recently started looking at Lego as an investment, so will be taking the time to do the correct research. I'm glad I found this great resource and intend to use it to the fullest. Thanks in advance for putting it all together. Best regards D

Hello Everyone! I am very happy to have found you too. When I was younger, there were no Lego STAR WARS, so I had to improvise. When Lego STAR WARS came out I tried to get my younger brother into it, but he was more into other stuff - so I had no excuse for buying further Sets I had however always an eye on the SW Sets and was always a bit sad when a cool set has been disontinued so I decided to get hand on such sets. I always loved the tydirium shuttle and when a colluege told me, that it is about to be disontinued I decided to finally invest in Legos again because I would not be able to forgive myself if I let this set pass too. I bought one Set for beeing ass…

Hello to everyone.....My son is an avid lego monster and used to just rip through sets of star wars lego one after the other. Last winter while he was laid up at sick kids hospital for an extended stay he received a Lego Slave Ship as a gift from a child life specialist there. She knew he loved lego and they have stores of it apparently in the hospital for gifting. Anyhow my son having not seen this previously googled it and found it for sale on ebay for hundreds of dollars....way more than it shows on this site actually but regardless, he then decided that he would NOT open it and insisted that I build him a shelf at home to house this and when he came home from hospital…

Hi all, I have been collecting Lego ever since I can remember, but started to get back into it again on and off when the Star Wars franchise made its debut in 1999. In the last 2 years Lego collecting has become a full time hobby and I love the thrill of the hunt. I am also an avid polybag collector. I treat all of my Lego as an investment, but I generally do not buy more than one set and I have many of the sets opened for display...but after trolling this site for a while now that may change...haha! Great site and members! I look forward to being part of this active community! Dave

Hey guys, i figured i'd come on here and introduce myself. My name is Matt and i currently live in Southern California. I just bought my first 3 Lego sets in 17 years. I don't even know what inspired me to buy them, but i started looking at Lego stuff online and the Star Wars stuff caught my interest. Anyways, i didn't really grow up with a whole bunch of Legos, just one set i bought as a kid and a random bucket of bricks i got for Christmas one year. Now for the past three days I've been doing alot of research into some of the sets that interest me and this was one of the first sites i found. Lots of good info here, and seems to be a good group of people to talk to as we…

When I was younger I was a huge fan of LEGO, especially the Star Wars theme. For about the last two or three years I just stopped playing and buying LEGO sets, but now I've gotten back into it. Since I am now old enough to get work, at least over the summer, I've also got a little cash set aside and I'd like to invest some of it into LEGO. So this is not only my introduction thread but also my request for advice! If I set my limit to around 150 bucks, which sets should I buy? I earlier had my eyes on the two 2012 battle packs, as the Battle Packs seem to always have good appreciation. However earlier today I went by WalMart and saw 9615 Jabba's Palace on CLEARANCE fo…

So I have recently come across this Site and am thrilled to have found it. I was an avid Lego collector and builder as a kid but unfortunately much of them have been sold or gotten rid of. So I am looking to get back into it and was wondering what the best thing to do is. I feel that all the sets on the "sets to be retired" would be a great place to start? Any advice would be great!

I have always enjoyed legos and raised 2 boys on them. Since I am an all or nothing type of person, I purchased and assembled the Lego Grand Carousel. It is wicked cool I must say. I still have it assembled and found the instruction books, but the box must have gotten tossed while moving. Although I have enjoyed the carousel, I no longer have room for it and am taking it apart. I have no interest in reassembling it....again. What's a girl to do? I know scrapping the box is a huge no-no, just not sure to do with the rest of it.... Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi My family brought a newspaper article about this site during their Christmas visit and wanted to know if I still I had my old legos. I have them in a large rubbermaid out in the garage. I guess I should go through it and see what sets I have, I figured they would have value but who would have imagined that that large X-Wing set I bought in 1999 or 2000 would be so valuable even after opened, assembled and displayed. I am a casual collector that bought up SW sets back around '99 and '00 then stopped due to the War on Terror. Now that things are winding down I have re-looked my many collections and trying to figure out values. I have collected toys since I was a ki…

Greetings all. I discovered this site a few weeks ago when i was up late holding my newborn son. I have been an amateur lego investor for the past two years. Mostly picking up the collectable mini-figures when they are on sale and then posting them on eBay. I started picking up sets on clearance over the past month and want to talk the developers and community of this site. I plan on investing more each year into my Lego inventory. My goal is when my son is old enough to play with Lego to be able to fund all his Lego with the profits of my investing. I would also like to be able to feed my own collection with profits. Anyway. Hello, Tom from NW Ohio

Hello fellow lego investors and collectors, I am an AFOL with two children who are addicted as well. I have been stockpiling a portfolio for last three years, and just started to re-sell some of it this christmas season. My early results have been very promising so far. I focus mainly on themed sets such as star wars, super heros, and indiana jones, but also have had success with some creator and city sets. I just happend to stumble across this website a couple of days ago, and I must say, it is AMAZING! I have been keeping track of all of my financials on an excel spreadsheet, and will probably continue to do so since there isn't a way to track selling expense (shippi…

I just found about this site today, after a seller friend sent me the link to the article. My husband and I are fulltime toysellers on Amazon, with a focus on out of print Lego. We have close to 2000 sets in stock, with an emphasis on Creator and City. I was excited to have a place to make a investing portfolio, although quickly gave that up when none of my sets were found in search result. Haha! Oh well, I will hang out in the forums instead. Looks like a great place with lots of like-minded folks. I'm always happy to talk Lego Investing!

Hello to everyone! I am very excited to be on this website. I have been reading a lot of exciting lego products on the forums. I can wait to get started on my LEGO collection once again! When I was 5 years old, for christmas my mom bought the Lego Castle Set 375 and it took us (well actually her - because I feel asleep lol) the whole night to complete. I have the set along with the old Lego Space Station Set in my closet back in my parents house. I ended up boxing those and other sets I had when I was a kid in hopes that one day if I had any kids, they would be able to play with them. I totally forgot I had them. Prior to Christmas, my 3 year old son has been wa…

Just joined. I'm a Senior and have used played and enjoyed Legos since 1970. I finally sent all of them including instructions to my two grandsons whom love them as much as I do. Their ages are 7 and 9. I'm known as the Lego Master. I still have the first or one of the first Tecnic sets, the one that was a yellow float plane. When downsizing I sent them 200 lbs of legos via UPS. They loved the VW bus.

Hello everyone! I just joined this forum. I'm from the Philippines and currently working here in France. The first toy that I remember that helped me develop my building skills was Lego. I think, I stopped playing Lego when I was 10years old, now I have a son and I think it is time introduce this educational toy to him. This past decade, I didn't really pay attention with anything, all I did was study and work When we are shopping for my baby at toys are us, i was surprise how Lego evolved... I been surfing the net for almost 3 days now and the sculptures really catch my attention... I missed a lot.... I ordered tower bridge last night online, how I wis…
