Greetings everyone. I'm an enthusiast from Washington D.C. Didn't get into Lego as a kid as mom said they were 'too expensive', but after my son got into them I was hooked. As a person who appreciates good design, engineering, and creativity, I found it to be the ultimate toy. Then after discovering in a Forbes article about Lego investing, I got serious and found this place. Thanks for all the resources and information.

Hello Firstly what a fantastic site full of information, advice and friendly chat. I'm Dave and from the United Kingdom. My love of lego started in the 80's as a young boy collecting mainly space sets. What kick started things was seeing the VW camper a couple of years ago which I knew I had to have. I'm hoping to turn over a few sets in order to pay for my hobby

Hi everyone. I am a AFOL from South America and consider myself mostly a collector but I have got some interest in start investing. My small collection is practically based in SW franchise. Unfortunately the prices are really expensive here, 3 times the regular price compared with US or Europe. Greetings.

Hi all from Portugal, I have been here since 2012 so before all i would like to thank you to the Founders for having the opportunity to have a Brickfolio and to all members, by being able to access so much information I am a Lego lover since child,Classic Space Fan, but now buying as a little investor. I have been working so many hours in the financial markets that i had to have something to chill out, so i re-start to doing Lego I started to discover the increase on the Lego prices so i have bought some, what i could, and then found Brickpicker. From here, is difficult to give any further information about Lego that you don't know, because …

Hi friends, My name is Alexey and I am from Russia. I like Lego since childhood. It is quite expensive in Russia to buy Lego, but I am trying to spend some of my salary for buying interesting and big sets and collect them. Also I like to make building video reviews and have a youtube channel. I think that they are quite unique. Here is an example of my video. I will be grateful for you if you subscribe to my channel. http://youtu.be/hjfGBaSV31Q

Hi guys, I have been surfing this forum for some time now. Its been very informative as I a pretty new to Lego. Currently I have all the modulars except the first 3. Still kicking myself for not buying the green grocer brand new in box for 500 euros 3 months ago! Other than that I have the odd star wars, city and some friends themes. my 2 older girls play with everything at home. So pieces get misplaced all the time. But what's the point in keeping them and not playing right? Surely I can't be Lord Business after letting them watch the movie! Great forum, really enjoying it. Thank you all again Ryan

Hi guys, here an Italian guy, living in UK for now. I started to play with Lego long time ago, I think like everybody here, themes Pirates and the Castle/Robin Hood, but this was in the previous century and now all those pieces are lost like tears in the rain. Because of my job, I moved around in Europe and there were never money or space to start to play again with Lego, no way I could start to build my modular city. Some times I was buying one of these very small model that you can keep in a pocket. The only thing I was able to achieve was the mini-modular as Christmas gift two years ago, few weeks before leaving Cologne (I still have to build tw…

Hi all. First off, let me apologise for this long post! A few months ago, a work colleague mentioned that there was a Lego version of the Ghostbusters Ecto-1 available. After looking at it online, I decided that I just had to have one, being a fan of the movie(s), and having fond memories of playing with Lego as a child. Soon after, I was looking around a local shopping centre and came across an independent toy shop that had large range of Lego sets, including the Ecto-1. Bought it, built it, and got the bug all over again! It then turns out that the work colleague is actually a part-time Lego investor/reseller, who makes a decent amount in his spare tim…

Hello, I'm an AFOL from Poland. I've started collecting Lego less than 2 years ago. I used to own quite a few sets when I was a kid (which was a long time ago), and I've decided to try again. Unfortunately there was nothing left from my old collection so I had to start from scratch. I'm interested mostly in Technic, and my passion soon infected my wife who's building those sets that look good on a shelf (Camper, Mini, Tower Bridge, R2D2, that kind of stuff). Recently I've also started investing in Lego and found this site to be very helpful. So far I'm not investing too much basically because I don't have too much space to store those boxes for a few yea…

Hi all! The lego bug has bitten me.... Hard... I might as well get my salary paid directly into my closest lego stockist's account and they can manage it. New at this for my own enjoyment but particularly interested in the Star Wars theme.... Oh and lego.com does not ship to us... Which sucks... I would have been rolling in VIP points by now. Looking forward to interacting!

I started out buying lego with the intention of an investment, now many many months / years on I have collected a sizeable portfolio mainly consisting of larger UCS, modular, starwars, superheros etc from SSD, PS, GE, TH, TB, HH, imperial shuttles, VW, sopwith camel and so on.... My problem is now letting go, that is if I want to - I haven't sold a single set yet, not that I've tried, I just keep saying to the wife (and myself) that it's a waiting game for retirement, maximising returns etc Lego is taking over my house, my life... The wife isn't too happy - it's everywhere, I've spent thousands and she gets frustrated as thinks the money would be better spent elsew…

Hi everyone, just joined. I have been lurking for a while and have been a long standing lego fan (and now have two sons who were indoctrinated into the cult of Lego rom an early age) Although I live in the UK my question is about China store in Beijing. I'm off there soon for business trip and wondered whether anyone had been and whether it is good for picking up any bargains or near to EOL sets ?

Greetings from Pennsylvania, United States! I've been on this site for almost a year now, but I just haven't been too vocal yet. I have really appreciated the wonderful tools this site has to offer, especially the brickfolio. I've been reading a lot on the forums as well and using the links here when making a purchase. I was an avid lego fan until I was about 14, went into a 10 year dark age period, then a friend of mine rekindled my love for lego about 3 years ago. Started to seriously invest last year. If your new to investing, this is definitely the place to be!

Hi All, My name is Will I have always love lego but growing up I never get a chance to own any. But ever since a month ago when my friend told me about investing in Lego. It got me looking into it more. Initially I wanted to just invest to flip but I'm becoming more of a collector now. My first set is the Petshop I got a month ago and since then I ordered more, in my personal collection so far I have the Petshop, Grand Emporium, Fire Brigade, Volkswagen. UCS Tumbler ( might hold on it to flip), ghostbuster. I'm planning to order the rest of the modular sets. This is a really expensive hobby but I love it. I'm hoping to get into investing to at least pay for the sets I …

Hello from Melbourne Australia!! I have just started collecting some lego after learning about what a big market it is for investment purposes. I like investing in things a bit out of the ordinary. I have just purchased the following brand new sets. 10240 (X-Wing) $223.20 10225 (R2D2) $199 10188 (Death Star) $598 71006 (Simpsons Lego House) $298 The next 2 sets I'm looking to buy are 10221 (Super Star Destroyer) & 75059 (Sand Crawler) unsure on prices at the moment as they're proving difficult to find. All of the above sets are quite large and I figure if they don't go up in price I'll happily build them and keep them. One thing …

Hey guys, I'm new here. I've collected all kinds of things over the years, and I just learned about Lego collecting. It sounds interesting to me, and I'm especially interested in finding vintage sets and maybe even the first legos made. I'm writing a book about collecting, and thought I should try my hand at this. I have to confess that I didn't realize there was such a thriving population of lego collectors. I have a million questions...so I hope I can get over the five approved post hurdle soon. Regards, Steve

OK, I should have posted here first, instead of posting a n00b question in another topic. I use to love legos as a kid and had maybe 1 or 2 cheap 100 piece sets, since that's all my poor family could afford. Well now I got sucked back in with these niche detailed sets, like the Mini Cooper and the VW Camper. And you can guess the rest... which is why I'm here now. Thanks for reading!
