    Started by Guest,

I'm going to post pictures of my free LEGO finds. The local dump/transfer station has a good sized free shop. I'm always scoring toys. This is todays score. Feel FREE to add your own free scores..

I had buyer's remorse so I returned a few sets this week. 1 - Hive Crawler (50% off) 2 - Swarm Interceptor (30% off) 2 - Black Zero Escape (30% off) I'm also planning to return the 4 AS I bought from Target (2 thru eBay) since they aren't retiring and I'd like to free up some funds for other purchases. Feel free to post your returns here. It could be buyer's remorse, better deal, damaged box, etc.

  4. So i was on Ebay and I was looking at an indiana jones the temple of doom set 7199 (99% complete no minifigs). it the auction was ending soon and had about a minute left. the current price was $19 so i figured i'll throw in something and see what happens. So on my phone i put in $21.09. But thanks to my LG phone or the ebay ap or maybe only slightly user error the "." did not take so my highest bid was $2109. I had to do a double take and I was like how can i stop this please NO ONE bid! Can i cancel? Oh man my wife is going to freak out that i bought a $2k lego set. as the seconds were counting down no bids but the last 10 seconds always have snipers. 5 seconds left boom…

Hi everyone! Yesterday I was replying to a thread on what sets did I purchased previously and that had deep remorse for. Then that set me thinking, there are quite a number of sets I purchased with no regrets but I wished I hadnt open them and built them bcos they are worth a lot now!!! Here are some of my biggest regrets: 1) Queens Anne revenge, I bought only 1 box bcos I only started collecting Lego then and didnt think much of it. Now it sits on my bed headboard, pretty awesome pc but I wished I had kept it in the box considering I bght it at retail for SGD $190 and its worth ard $500 over here now. 2) Ninjago Fortress 2505, OMG this one... it saddens me e…

  7. After quite a few retirements over the last month or so, I was just interested to see what recently retired sets you guys would still buy at RRP? I was in TRU the other day and they had a few JW sets sitting at the back of the shelf, so I purchased for a quick turn around. I was also in John Lewis and did the same with a Mystery mansion. I had my quota for both but it was an easy opportunity to make a few extra quid. Maze seems another obvious choice but yet to stumble across any more of those. Architecture sets are performing OK if purchased at the right price, as is Wall-e, JW and SD range but would you still buy at RRP if you stumbled across any of them?

  8. Well, as clearance looks to be pretty disappointing and possibly non-existent for most of us, I want to see what people think about this retail season. What retailer did you buy from - or what retailer did the best pulling you in and why? Doesn't have to be the best sale - mostly encompassing the whole holiday season is what I am interested in. Highlights: Amazon - Cyber Monday basically a clearance sale. Black friday lightning deals. Walmart - I am counting the 10.99 fiasco. 30% off sets on Black Friday. ToysRUs - Random crazy good sales in between crap - and sort of finishing with crap. Gift cards were huge. Tons of huge discounts on Technic sets.…

  12. Started by barefoot,

I found 2 lego sets in my cupboard that had been stashed away for over 10 years waiting to be given as gifts. But now I want to sell them. But I have no idea what they are worth. They are number 3401 Zidane soccer set and 3431 NBA basketball set. Thanks in advance.

  14. So I got a bunch of these right before they disappeared off the planet overnight - all under $15. Some for $12 something. Anyway, My target with smaller sets is hopefully they will double quickly, and then sell them and be done as they usually have lower ceilings and they are better for quick transactions. So wolverine, probably somewhat influenced by Christmas, is sitting at almost $40 on Ebay. Which presents a question: 1. I could go ahead and double my money on the 15 or so I have now, walk away with an 100% ROI in about a month. Pros: quick money I can reinvest, also if these come back into stock its free money as I can get more. Cons: May miss ou…

  15. Started by Patty6728,

I hope this is the right place to ask this. My son is in college and wants to sell his Lego collection. As he is out of town and I am currently unemployed, I offered to help. Now I need to figure out the best way to get the most $$ from them. They are mostly loose in large boxes, with some partial builds. I have found instructions for 127 sets, so potentially there could be somewhere near that many complete sets in those boxes. The majority is Bionicle, but there is Star Wars, Space, Mars and others in there too. I have spent days searching the internet for the info, but still can't really get a feel for if it is better to sort and sell complete sets, sort and sell…

  16. Hi, I purchased a 10179 MF last week from seller JackMcDonald in the UK and transferred the money via bank. He has plenty of good reviews, so it did not seem risky at the time. Since transferring the money he does not respond anymore. I gave him a negative rating to warn other people for him. In return, he gave me a bad review, which really hurts my three years of positive reviews here. The guy is still getting positive reviews from a couple of accounts repeatedly, which makes me think he might have hacked a couple of accounts in order to build a positive review legacy. I tried Bricklink to do something about this, but they only cancelled the order. Since I …

Let's assume below is all the info you get...Let's assume it is all true...(Of course I would get to see everything and it's from an acquaintance so I know there is no shady business.) All used but recently cleaned... 50 lbs of mixed lego bricks and parts...star wars...city...Potter etc... 1% mega box and kre-o mixed in. PLUS 20 - 99% (some 100%) complete Star Wars Lego sets with manuals (Sets unknown but let's assume they are on the smaller end.) 60 mini figs.. mostly star wars I would want to keep about 20lbs to give to my nephew but would like to sell the rest... I am not even sure where to start on the offer. I figured by the lb would be the…

  19. I am looking to make several orders next month and was wondering the best options to buy and if Lego will flag me for making more than 1 order a day or one every day for a couple of weeks. I was planning on picking up the T1, Sopwith, Horizen, Pet shop, and at least one mini cooper. Have any of you made multiple orders in one day?

Hi I am still new to Lego investing and the forums , and would like to get some general knowledge on where and how to start. Where does one find 40% or more of a discount on Lego sets in Canada? Does anyone know when do real clearances on Lego sets (Like 40% or more) start showing up in Wal-marts , Targets and Real Canadian super stores? Which months do you think are the best for Lego clearance hunting? June July or August? how often should I check? (do not drive as of yet but working on it) Always end up buying Lego sets ( for investing) at U.S retail prices. I do go to North Dakota once a month but only have acc…

  21. Hi, I'm trying to build a city and want to buy more than a few baseplates. Amazon has a good price, but their quantity limit is 3. Does anyone know when that limit resets so I can make another purchase? A week? A month? The Lego website has a quantity limit of 50 per household, I'm not going to be buying that many, but wondered if that is a hard, lifetime limit, meaning each one I purchase is a countdown to eventually 0 quantity allowed. Do the purchase quantity limits reset on the Lego website? If so, how long does it take? Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thank you! Edit: I'm only using one account for each site, I don't want to risk being …

  22. I know we have a bunch of full time Ebayers here so my question is this? What is the best time of the day or night to have your auction end? I think I know the obvious answer but I am open to different opinions. Thanks for any help as I am a fairly new eBay seller (52 feedbacks).

  23. I wasn't doing this last year, and I thought this would be a good thing for everyone to know as well. When should we start cruising around for after Christmas Clearance? Walmart, Kmart, Target, TRU, Meijer - etc. Just give your experiences. One walmart already had mark downs that I went to, but haven't seen anything else.

  24. Started by stackables,

I recently used FedEx to ship a large package. The process of dropping it off is a story in itself. In short, sneaking past a gate, going into 2 buildings where no one was working and then walking all over to find someone was quite the experience. With that said, when will I get charged for the package? I did not know when you print online it is supposedly an estimation? How do I even find out how much the total shipping will be? I do not even see any record of me printing the label in my FedEx account. The package has been picked and is on the way to the customer.

  25. I have been into the LEGO investing game for about a year now. Mostly impart to all the good deals shown here I have a nice stash going. I definetly want to move some sets I aquired at deep discount this year to recoup some money for future investing. Question is when is the right time to list on ebay. For Black Friday? after Cyber Monday? 2 weeks before the 25th? When does the mad dash for desperate parents begin!? Thanks for any insight on the matter, hopefully we all make a Scrooge worthy profit margin this holiday.
