General Different Set Theme Forum

Hi, Just wondering if anyone has bought any Pharaoh's Quest sets? The look like they are discontinued and have some neat minifigs. There are not that many sets, so it would be possible to collect an entire theme(which is rather difficult to me). Plus, they are not that expensive right now, even cheaper than MSRP. Any ideas or comments?

Saw this over on Brickset this morning. Apparently the boxes are empty and are to gauge interest. It's interesting watching Lego these days, especially after buying BrickLink and wanting to better understand what the end-user wants. Their research must be taking them to other aftermarket-type products such as lighting kits. If they can be cost-competitive I see lighting kits making sense. If I can get an equivalent kit for less elsewhere, I'm not sure I would buy the Lego brand store. Go go Power Rangers! There's a Power Rangers movie coming in 2017, and there's picture floating around of a potential LEGO Power Rangers theme in 2017. No details about the sets as of yet.

There does not seem to be much mention of the Lego employee factory gift sets that - 40000XX. I have collected six myself and below are some pictures. I collect these because I am a Lego Architecture series (Landmark only) collector and these seem to fit in nicely although it is not directly related. I also like the five consecutive years for each factory. There's a picture out on the Internet of a rumored new LEGO theme - LEGO Sports. Not much is known about the theme, other than it might involve football and/or soccer, and maybe a winter sport or two. If this is true, what sports would you like to see covered by this theme?

Apparently some VIPs in the UK have received an invitation to a midnight release at the flagship store in London and many believe it will be the release of a Stranger Things set that has been rumored for a little while now. This event is happening May 15.

Today I was in a mom and pop pharmacy and noticed a 6166 large brick box on the shelf for $29.99. It's retired, and seems to sell for 2x or 3x the retail price already. 400 pcs and one minifig... Question is, this trend seems to happen with other retired brick boxes as well. Anyone understand what the appeal is on these? Is it just people who are doing a random search for Lego, and end up not shopping around? I can't figure out why these brick boxes appreciate so much after EOL when they just roll out new (and better) ones.
