God be with Ukrainians as rest of the world left them.

LEGO corp needs to stay in their lane

I understand "safety" precautions but it's not the place of employers to "guide" it's employees on whether to participate in political action one way or the other.

Also despite the obvious optics...WHY this issue and not the many issues that have arose in the past 2 years...there's been plenty and all potentially dangerous.

Indeed. I do think most people were under the impression Russia was going to stay clear of the reactors and try not to cause a sequel to Chernobyl. Does Putin really think his men are going to fight on if there's a serious incident and radiation is released?

The question is , does he even care ? We both know the answer is no. He already took over Chernobyl much to the bemusement of most military strategist. Then again it isn’t going well for him at all

It looks like Russia is getting its ass handed to them. Laying siege to major population centers with a million + people hasn't been seen since WW2 and now you have everyone with a cell phone camera recording video and sending it out. I wouldn't be shocked if Putin's inner circle balks and moves to oust him.

That seems to be the only viable option at moment although I don’t see it happening.

The video circulating of the Ukrainians driving a Russian tank around is gold.

Multiple reports (take with grain of salt) are saying Putin is furious and now paranoid causing him to retreat to a unknown bunker deep in the mountains.

Everyone is too afraid to engage Russia. Russia is going to kill everyone they want with zero repercussions. (sanctions. lol.)
I like Zelensky. It's a shame he'll be dead soon. Too bad there is absolutely, 100%, nothing anyone on this planet can do to prevent this.

Really surprised at everyone falling for all the blatant propaganda on this "war." The amount of deception we are witnessing is almost embarrassing.

Watching people fall and overreact to the "nuclear plant incident" was next level. Look how blatant the misinformation is coming from the Ukrainian officials. Looking further into the reality's of the "incident" show none of what they are saying happened. The fire was in a separate training facility on site and quickly put out. If Russia wanted to level a nuke plant they could have. That is not what happened.

Fear porn being thrown at us heavy and thick. All to goad us into irrational, fear based decision making.

"Russian tanks, equipped with thermal imagery, are shooting at the atomic blocks. They know what they are shooting at. They've been preparing for this (attack)," Zelensky said in the post.

"Russian tank commanders knew what they were firing at," Zelensky alleged, adding: "The terrorist state now resorted to nuclear terror."

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that "if (the plant) blows up, it will be 10 times larger than Chernobyl," and Zelensky said that such an incident would mean "the end of Europe."

It is a war , there are no quotations. Stopped reading anything after that

You mean like this deception?

""In the city of Kharkiv, Ukrainian nationalists are preparing a provocation with the participation of Western journalists," Konashenkov said in a video briefing released by the Russian MOD. "According to confirmed data, on Zhylyardi Street, Kyiv District, in a private residential area, multiple launch rocket systems are placed between the houses. Nationalists have forbidden local residents, including children, from leaving their homes. Now the installations are ready for shelling units of the Russian armed forces located outside the city. The purpose of the provocation is to call back fire from Russian artillery on the residential sector of Kharkiv. All this is planned to be filmed on cameras with the subsequent transfer of filming to Western journalists.""

I'll agree with you. A bit over the top by me.

I believe both sides core goal is to turn a localized generational war into a much larger world conflict. My quotations were a poor method to convey that fact. I'll try harder next time.

Of course the deception is dual sided. I'm not that naïve.

As in any conflict both sides with spin the narrative to try and gain the upper ground. Psychological warfare can be more damaging than actual combat. Ukrainians sees a fire at a nuclear complex they will 100% milk it. 20 years from now they will kiss and make up and the dead will stay in their graves

The issue I see comparing the two sides of the propaganda battle is that Russia is clearly the aggressor and have been lying not only to the world, but to their own citizens about their intentions with Ukraine.  Ukraine is cornered, surrounded and acting out of desperation from being pummeled from cruise missiles, potentially thermobaric weapons and the thought of being murdered.  Just to keep things in perspective.

This is the most dangerous side effect of the "Post Truth" era.  The slippery slope of "both sides aren't being 150% objective, with all their i's dotted and their t's crossed just so, and so they are both guilty of deception, and morally equivalent." is terrifying.

The Bullshit Asymmetry Principle plus social media bubbles have made it super bad, and we are only at the beginning of deep-fakery, which will pour gas on the fire of it.

All the more reason to go back to fundamentals.

I'm curious, @dennugsmello do you think that one or the other side in this war is right or wrong?  And if you do, why?  (am not interested in arguing, I promise, just want some anecdotal data.)
