Racer Sets

Discussion for investing and collecting Racer themed sets.

There is going to be a City, so 6 stud, custom car garage 60389 that comes out 1/1/23 as well. https://brickset.com/sets/60389-1/Custom-Car-Garage

  2. After recreating a couple real life cars in LEGO, I wonder what vehicle(s) do you think would make great designs in LEGO? It can be any scale (micro, minifig, model/UCS, Technic, etcetera) and style (classic, new, concept, fantasy, video game, and so on) you enjoy. For example, I would love to have a Ultimate Collector Series scale 1956 Chevy with the classic red and white color scheme. This sweet ride would have a special display on my shelf and never be taken down!

Eurobricks member gordongordon posted a neat first look and review of the new collectible ferrari truck which will soon be available worldwide and only from Shell gas stations. Here's the link- http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=73075&pid=1365198&st=0e;ntry1365198; Personally I think this will be a nice little series to own but I'm not really sure how much they will go up in value later on since the only thing they have going for them is that they are Ferrari and you can only get them at Shell.

So, what's the deal with this set? I've seen that MISB boxes on eBay.com at prices from 50-400 USD, while in Europe, there are some priced at about 23 USD... Were they just more common in Europe or what?

So the Ferrari Racers polybag series is being released here in Australia at Shell Service stations. $6 if you purchase V-Power petrol, otherwise $8. I've had a look at the price guides and they don't really give a clear guide in that the polybags sold were earlier obviously when it was a new release. I am assuming as the F1 continues to tour worldwide, everyone will get a chance to pick these up. Now, I know nothing of polybags and how well they fare in the future though others swear by them. Do people think it will do well? Is it worth grabbing a few sets to stash away for further down the road? Or just pick and choose the individual cars and load up on them? Or …

I think the Ferrari line of the Lego Racers theme is 1337. The Enzo Ferrari http://www.brickpicker.com/bpms/set.cfm?set=8653-1 is the King of all the Racer sets. Not a bad return on investment either! 283% ^^^

Considering how there were only four sets in the Racers line last year and there doesn't seem to be any new ones for this one. Is that a sign the theme could be completely discontinued, maybe it is taking a temporary break and could come back with new sets next year, or does anyone even care about it at all to begin with? I don't think the line has been discontinued but the lack of anything at all this year (not even word of a polybag) is strangely odd.

Looks like we're going to be getting some new Lego racers courtesy of Shell (gas company). When you buy shell gas you will be able to get some mini Lego Shell racers for an additional purchase. It seems to only be available in Hong Kong right now but the site says coming to your country soon so that seems to mean it be available globally. They look to be cute little cars but who knows how much you will have to pay for them? Anyways really excited for them to come. Hope they will be a good investment opportunity. *Here's the link- http://www.shell.com/home/content/products_services/on_the_road/fuels/ferrari_model_lego_collection/ * instructions for the cars are here if…

  16. Came across this and was wondering when we'll be getting a UCS Ferrari F1 car. Or perhaps one on the same scale as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Although my wife already says my LEGO are taking up too much space if I had this I'd willingly park it outside. Anyone else? http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/a28013/this-life-size-ferrari-formula-one-car-is-made-of-350000-lego-bricks/ LEGO Speed Champions - Scuderia Ferrari SF16-H 75879 BTW, on the popular mechanic's page, there is a similar life-sized build for the McLaren 720S.

I've recently been getting more into miniature sets and the speed champions kits. Has anyone built mini garages with lifts? I'm trying to find a lift that can fit the speed champions cars.

Why doesn't Lego make NASCAR replicas? They could be a huge hit here in the USA. Maybe use the Technic platform. Thoughts?

I have come across a Ruben Barrichello minifigure and will probably be looking at selling him on eBay in the UK. Does anyone have any idea what sort of price I should be expecting, or if he is at all collectible? I believe there are 2 Barrichello minifigures available. One with a balaclava face and one without. I have the one with balaclava.

Just2Good on Eurobricks has found a logo for some new theme titled "Speed Champions" that is believed to be released later in 2015. Earlier there was a rumor for something based on the TV show Top Gear so I am guessing this is what became of that. Anyway here is a list of rumored sets with the tiny logo. 75899 - Ferrari F150 75908 - Ferrari 458 Italia GT2 75909 - McLaren P1 75910 - Porsche 918 Spyder 75911 - McLaren Mercedes Pit Stop 75912 - Porsche 911 GT Finish Line 75913 - Ferrari F14 & Scuderia Ferrari Truck Source: The Brick Fan

Before the list of sets was taken down from the Amazon site, I did notice a full selection of more vehicles (around six or so) for this Toys R Us exclusive theme. A couple of which are supposed to be a Mustang and then somewhere is a Camaro. I should have realized what had happened was going to happen and make a copy for later reference but no use crying over spilled milk. Well if they are to continue the racing form tradition in the prior wave with this one, I imagine all will be based on modern models. Never mind, I just found a copy of the list. Here are the Speed Champions for 2016 everybody! 75870 - Chevrolet Corvette Z06 = 14.99 €75871 - Ford Mustang GT = 14.99 €758…
