  1. So if it had to be one or the other.. Batman arkham #10937 or Monster Fighters 10228. Both are same price but I am looking at these to both go up in value myself. Just need some advice to put me over 50% on one or the other thanks in advance as always

I recently started buying Lego Star wars sets after all these years. I bought an ATAT, Star Destroyer, and a Super Star Destroyer and want to maybe buy a Death Star. Is it worth selling my Lego Movie Tin from the San Diego Comic Con or hold on to it and pay outta pocket for the death star???

I have to admit, I really like buying from Amazon. I have been trying to buy Friends Lego 3189 for 2 weeks when I saw it for $34.00 ($49.99 MSRP). The price has been going up on Amazon ever since. Walmart also had for $34.00, but it was out of stock. I was just able to buy 2 from Amazon for $34.00 (1 hour ago). I just checked it's back up to $44.99, and they only have 2 in stock. CRAZY!! Do any of you have any insight on how to watch/buy from Amazon. I am really starting to build by investing collection, but am doing so by buying sets at what I think is a discount.

  5. Just curious if anyone has dabbled in custom printing their own mini figures? I've heard water slide decals are a good way to start. Others have mentioned investing in a pad printer which is insanely expensive. If anyone does this, I would love to see some of your work and hear about your process. I really am not looking to buy custom minifigs, just pick someones brain who has experience with it! Thanks!

Hi all, I have over the last 2 years started to collect the Exclusives and I nearly have them all now. I broke the seal on the first two boxes that I bought (as I was a novice and had no idea of the value). I regret this now. But what does this really do to the value of the box? or should I buy a second box with a closed seal as investment? Thanks for your help! Cheers, Antal

  8. I didn't buy, sell or not buy these sets today so I figured they needed their own post. I thought I had a handle on my inventory, but I had to go get some sets from my parent's house and came across this box of fun. I thought I had a bunch of these somewhere but never saw them anywhere so I just figured I already sold them. It's kind of like finding a hundred dollar bill in your pocket.

  14. I just about had multiple heart attacks when I viewed the entire new mini fig line for Super Heroes 2013. These photos are all super high resolution and just amazing to look at. This is the same place that just unveiled the pics for that awesome new Arkham Asylum set.

What are some good sets that are nearing there E.O.L that would be excellent investments? Because nobody wants to miss the boat!!!! And let's divide the sets into Small, Medium, and Large. What are the HOTTEST buys as of right now? We have small collectors/Investors and we have Big collectors/Investors like Ed Mack, who probably has acres of massive storage units. Lol I was thinking 5 small sets, 5 medium sets, and 5 large sets....but they have to be on there way out or nearing E.O.L. Any thoughts let us know. Hope this will be a good topic!

So I see on ebay that a few people who are obviously VIP members are selling pre orders for the cinema. Well tommorow they won't be pre orders but anyway they are selling them for 200.00 USD. My question is this, after PayPal, ebay and shipping fees how much are they really gonna make? Maybe they got some kind of deal or something but paying 149.00 plus tax isn't going to net them much I don't think.

I am sure most people know about this. I figured it out AFTER I bought a scale. If you are shipping a lot you will need shipping scale. (You also get a150ish in coupons.) http://www.stamps.com/radio/ Enter: mikeandmike

How long would you say on average a set lasts at retail? I'm thinking of an average type set here, for example most medium to large sets. Some, like modulars and , cough... 10188 DS... cough, are around for a long time. But what about standard sets from the past and present (think Tie Fighter, Jabba's Palace, R2-D2, POTC ships, Trains, Diagon Alley, Batcave, Bag End, etc etc). The reason I'm curious as I'm looking at the CAGR of sets and we calculate this from the release date of the set. When in reality we often make purchases nearer EOL, making the growth rate higher. (not to mention discounts off retail, but that's another topic). What say you?

  20. Just wondering if I could get some input on the actual fair price for the collection below. By following the instructions regarding the numbered bags? I know that this post shouldn't be in the General Collecting and Investing Forum but I didn't find a 'General Lego Forum' (hints at Ed) and I decided to post it over here. The last time I bought a Lego set was around 2007, and I am almost 100% certain that back then the bags weren't numbered and I had to open all the bags and look for every piece in the pile. Don't get me wrong, it was the way I first started building Lego sets and I had such a blast back then. Now due to me not putting the sets together alone as my wife helps me a lot, and thanks to the instructions and the numbered bags, it's easier to fin…

Hey guys. About a month back I was at my local Walmart getting some yogurt. A quick stroll down the Lego aisle and low and behold a lone Wampa Cave sat on the shelf mixed in with the Rancor pits. I snatched it up and even better still when I price checked it it came up 9.99 So I'm curious guys, where have you been lucky enough to find a retired set and what was your most bad-@$$ find???

I've been waiting and waiting for a nice discount on this set. I know 21% isn't the biggest discount, but I think this set is by far the strongest from The Hobbit line. Usable in both Hobbit and LOTR play, two more Hobbit movies on the horizon, and super playability for kids...and adults (who doesn't love Bag End!!??) Gah, I see Amazon only has it at 16% off now. Limit was 2 per, btw.

I know this is not really an investment question, but why do the American Boxes have the piece count and set name on them, where as the Boxes we get here in the UK do not, any special reasons?
