It's that time of year, when you do something nice for someone else, to be generous, to say thanks and take time to appreciate what you have and what you can give. None of us would be here taking advantage of one of the best resources of our new found hobby in LEGO collecting/investing if it weren't for two brothers, our fearless leaders, Jeff and Ed. If you'd like to send them a little Holiday gratitude Pm me. mods: if there's a more appropriate place for this post please move it and add a stickie while you're at it.

I was very inspired by Team Trivia 3.0 yesterday. I thought it would be fun and informative to start a daily(?) trivia thread. I will post one Lego or BP related question each day. If you know the answer, please do not post it! You can PM for validation if you like. I will post the answer the following day. If anyone would like to add questions to the thread, feel free. Here goes the first question: What set(s) can you find this piece in?

Had to post this. I had a dream last night that I was scooping up deals at a Meijers last night. Understand that 1) I have never had a dream about buying lego before, and (2) I have never set foot in or have any idea what a Meijers looks like as we don't have them in Canada. In my dream it was basically a Wal-mart with a Meijers sign, and for some reason I was getting a lot of the Yoda and 501st recon walker set for $3 each. I have been reading about the big scores members have made there too long now it seems as it's invading my private dream space. Bizarre.

  10. I just added a few of my recent investments to the portfolio. I cannot believe the amount. I am running out of space. Selling has begun on a minimal basis and so far has been highly profitable. I chose well and my net rates of return are fantastic, compared to anything in the markets. Here is to saving all the dang shipping boxes and packing material. I am not crazy after all. In terms of big boys, I sure hope the remaining slow sets retire. That being Death Star, Tower Bridge, T1 Camper Van, Orthanc, Ewok Village, PS. IF these will sail away to never return, my portfolio should see about a 25% increase in value next year, maybe more. In this game, choosing wise…

Hello all, I wanted to say high to everyone. Most people probably don't know me as I was one of the newer(ish) members to join about 2 plus years ago. Anyways, I still buy and sell Lego even though my current avenue of work has been WWII mocs for World War Brick which was held in Minneapolis. (Went to that one for my third straight year.) They also hosted WWB out of state in Anaheim, CA and Hartford, CT in 2015 as well. If want to check out some of my builds, please check out my Flickr account which is vikings_football28. (Link.) On a side note, we are doing a Lego Cologne On The Rhine Collab next year for WWB 2016. This collab depicts the famous Pershing vs. Panth…

  14. Mega Bloks TMNT at the New York Comic-Con. It looks as though they plan on tackling the original cartoon style plus the latest running one for Nickelodeon and some 'Half Shells' offshoot similar to LEGO's DUPLO for young children I guess.

A guy I work with has a 3D printer and was nice enough to print some swords and shields for me that I picked out on Thingiverse. Pretty neat stuff. I created some water slide decals with various artwork for the shield emblems and put a few coats of paint and protectant on them ... Here are my Dragon Dogs (heh) ... I made some with the sigils from Game of Thrones ... I don't think 3D printing is any threat to Lego. The strength and detail just don't match up to injection molds, but it is handy for prototyping or just playing around.

  16. Read the article here: http://www.nerdist.com/2014/07/exclusive-todd-mcfarlane-on-his-upcoming-walking-dead-building-toy-sets/ I'm pretty disappointed in the sets. They don't really seem to be a building toy, and you can see why from this quote: "The thing the other guys do that drives me crazy is that the closer I get to their build the less believable it is to me. Because it starts to bitmap. I do the same thing on my computer

I just found this picture of a very famous actor (the lady also has been famous!) who starred in various movies of my childhood ^.^ Personally I would never have recognized him on this picture! So for the fun of it: Do you know who THIS is? :-)

A LEGO Brickumentary (2015) Movie Info Since the birth of their trademark toy in 1958, The LEGO Group has produced over 400 billion bricks. But more and more, LEGO bricks aren't just for kids, and some take them very seriously. Adult Fans of LEGO around the globe are unashamedly declaring their love of the brick, brick artists are creating stunning and surprising creations, and LEGO master builders are building human scale and larger structures. LEGO bricks are being used educationally, therapeutically, and have provided a universal system for human creativity and our innate desire "to build." This documentary playfully delves into the extraordinary impact of the LEGO br…

  20. Ok, I need to vent. I've got friends here, and this is a good a place as any. Settle in, I have story to tell. My sister's wedding is this weekend. I decided to buy a nice watch for my future brother-in-law. Found it on Amazon, and ordered it back in August. Received the watch. Watch is left new, unused, in original packaging. Wasn't cheap, $1600. A few weeks go by, I talk with my future brother-in-law, and decide another, different gift would be more appropriate. He's not really a watch guy, and this isn't a cheap watch. I contact Amazon, requesting a return around the first of the month. Amazon informs me sale was from a third party, they have to authorize ret…

My Wife: "Ok it's Friday night. How much did you spend on Legos this week?" Me: "Well, technically, I think it's 'Lego'. I don't think you pluralize it." My Wife: "Really? Like how the plural form of 'moose' is also 'moose' and not 'mooses' or 'meese' or something?" Me: "Yeah, I think so." My Wife: "Okay, well how much did you spend on Lego this week?" Me: "I'd prefer to think about it in terms of how much I SAVED on Lego this week." My Wife: .... (eyes narrowing) .... "I'm going to Lululemon. I'll be back in an hour." Me: "Yeah that's probably fair." My Wife: "And you're watching Miss America with me on Sunday night. But we can play a drinking game. You have to take a s…

  23. Hi all, I'm in the process of putting together a Lego Star Wars (original trilogy) minifigure display in an Ikea Ribba frame. The layout I'm thinking is the same as the attached image, which houses 16 minifigs. Alternatively, I could go 3 x rows of 6 for 18 minifigures. Now what I can't figure out is exactly what minifigures to display! I've made the following shortlist: Luke Skywalker Obiwan Kenobi Princess Leia Han Solo Chewbacca R2-D2 C3PO Lando Calrissian Ewok Boba Fett Darth Vader Stormtrooper Scout Trooper Emperor Palpatine Yoda Tie Fighter Pilot Royal Guard X-Wing Pilot Admiral Ackbar The only issue is that's 19 minifigures! So If you could only choose 16 (or max…

  25. A long time acquaintance of mine, a Mr. Ralph Pitcher from Firebuy.com, has come to me with a tremendous offer. Ralph owns an equipment liquidating company which was hired by Target to remove store displays from over 1500 Target stores from across the US. These displays included many of the LEGO and toy displays you see in the toy isles of your local Target. He sold thousands of these displays over the past 4-5 years, many to me. LOL. He is a first class operator and is looking to sell his remaining inventory in one or two large transactions. Here is a basic list of what he is selling: Lego Cars 2 - 144Lego Gold Mine - 58Lego Friends - 135Lego Alien Conquest - 105L…
