I just noticed that some credit cards, at least my Discover card, offers price protection. Basically it's like a price match, but for up to 90 days after you purchase something. The credit card then reimburses you for the money, as long as the entire purchase for that item was put on your credit card. I will paste in Discover's explanation here: If you find a lower price on a recently purchased item at any store within 90 days of purchasing the item with your Discover card, you are automatically eligible for a reimbursement of the price difference up to $500. Do I have to pay a fee for Price Protection? No. However, the entire cost of the qualifying pu…

Does anybody know if there's a software out there that could help me in building/designing objects with Lego blocks? For example, fake coffee mugs, desk lamps, tables... I know it's a longshot but it'd be very helpful, my wife has this idea to make some of our living room objects from Lego blocks (no, not the sofa cushions) and I wanted to know if there's a tool that could help me with that. Thanks!

Here is a little thing I found on another one of those random searches. It would seem way back in 1957, Lego actually did release a set that was a church! Admitedly, it is a very simple design out just a couple of years after Lego started selling their "Lego System" blocks but it is there. Then another year or two later, they re-released it although I did not see any changes from the original design. Now of course this was decades ago and the design is rather generic but still it is what it is; a simple house of worship. What do you think?

Can anyone recommend decent Lego podcasts? I'm aware of the video reviews available on YouTube but looking for something to listen to in the car. I listened to the one show Ed and Jeff were on once but it seems more geared toward MOCs (plus, I can't find it anymore using the iPhone Podcast app). Additioanlly, many existing podcasts seemed to have stopped.

I signed up for BP a year ago, and was thinking about what it was like back then. New topics could sit in the new topics bar for a few days instead of a few hours. I got onto the top 20 posters list with 190 posts. TheOrcKing only had about 500 posts and stephen_rockefeller had 700! Feel free to talk about the growth of BP over the last year here!

I just found out about a brick fair 4 hours away and was wondering if anyone has gone to one and what was it like? I am new to lego so I would be using it as a learning tool kind of like a trade show. They sell lego there as well so I could come across some deals. Here's the link http://www.brickfair.com/afol/

So other than person-specific birthday threads I couldn't find anything, so I thought I'd start one up so we can wish fellow members a happy date of birth and hear about what sets (or non-lego items?) they got. To start things off, yesterday was Stephen Rockefeller's birthday! Happy B-Day man!

Did anyone else get the new Winter 2014 catalog yet? There is a very noticable change in page format in this catalog. The sets are all in closely aranged boxes which look much sleeker than the old format. However, most sets have lost the description paragraph so that more sets can be included on each page. Only the large sets have paragraphs. Also, there were only two spreads covering Star Wars Lego! Does anyone else remember back in 2007 when the catalogs had seven or eight spreads of Star Wars! Those were the days... What are your thoughts on the new catalog?

I was in the Stratford Lego store today refilling my PAB tub and I overheard someone ask a staff member the stupidest question I have ever heard. This person walked up holding a small to medium sized Friends set, probably a

1. The Death Star will live on for another year and be available until at least December. 2. The Architecture Studio will return (too simple to make; white pieces and a book). 3. Chima will not make the year in being produced, but sets will linger at stores. 4. 2 Modulars will be retired (The Grand Emporium, and likely the pet shop, and possibly the town hall) 5. Helm's Deep will end the year valued just below $200 on eBay (not Amazon). I would like to be wrong about this. 6. May the 4th will bring a deal on the Superstar destroyer, I'm guessing around $300. 7. We will get our first teaser trailer for Star Wars around Christmas. …

So truth be told...I've never built a lego set in my life. I'm 25. I decided that I needed to at some point. I have a fascination with winter and cabins and such this brought me to the winter village cottage set as it also has a practical sense under my Christmas tree. lets be honest here, I'm 25band not exactly gonna play with a ninjago set. So its Christmas eve. despite being a lego investor and loving money and knowing the potential this set will bring I opened one. I thought i'd build this whole set in a hour and have it displayed for Christmas. ....I have been humbled. A few hours later...I have an igloo and truck built. I'm also not much of a drinker at …

Folks.....I made a boo boo I think. When I bought my I phone a year ago...I remember someone telling me all pics and videos were saved "on the cloud" even after my phone went over the thousand it could hold---they were sent to a picture roll. Fast forward a year...and I went to look for last years Christmas pictures--and poof! <been using that a lot since someone posted the South Park video. Gone. Is it true that once you past 30 days or 1k pictures, they are deleted--gone forever? It sounded too good to be true---that all pics ever take were stored for you in your film roll cloud what have you...but I never looked into it. Well this sucks. Am I missing s…
