But I'm talking about real human furniture, like a small table. No sofas please Any idea on how to do this? I know that they usually buy a table to use as base and the cover it with pieces. Do you use glue? Any comments/suggestions? Wifey and I are looking into this very seroiusly.

  4. These are suppose to be released Sept 25, they were suppose to be $400 each, but Walmart lowered the price to $300, so everybody else did the same. I got the Centipede system coming. Here is a Video of a guy reviewing the Street Fighter Game. If you want all the details just google Arcade 1 up and it shows who is selling them. I figure getting it at Walmart will be the best place to return it, if there is a problem.

I just found out about a brick fair 4 hours away and was wondering if anyone has gone to one and what was it like? I am new to lego so I would be using it as a learning tool kind of like a trade show. They sell lego there as well so I could come across some deals. Here's the link http://www.brickfair.com/afol/

Every single time I go I get some busted down cart with string holding down a wheel. It's frustrating when you are trying to push a massive cart full of lego and you are making more noise then a toddler in church.

  8. got my first Death Star on CL for $330. Loved the deal and the box condition but the tapes on both sides of the box have begun to slide. doesnt look like a nice clean fresh out of the factory seal.

  9. I just saw and read this article in the news feed. Has LEGO sold out? - The NY Times In a nutshell, the article talks about how (supposedly) some parents and researchers are saying that LEGO sets now are less open-ended and imaginative. That most are tied to one licence or another. (Lord of the Rings, Marvel, etc.) A mother, Tracy Bagatelle-Black, said and I qoute

So I was out making my "rounds" today, and I had a store associate ask me with a straight face if I was a "Hoarder" (as in the TV show). I couldn't help but laugh. Anyone else been asked this? Is it a bad thing that I answered "YES!" ?

  14. Hello all! I'm a daydreaming builder. I love creating whole worlds (in my imagination) when I build with my LEGO. Instead of just making a little minifig, I make a whole back story and try to imagine where he comes from and what the world around HIM is like. I like to kind of turn my build experience into an almost MMORPG/board game feel. I like to have towns where the different minifigs can work/live in. I create a currency they can buy, sell and trade with. I also like to get other RL people to join in the fun! I can sit there for hours daydreaming and writing up ideas, drawing maps and sketching different races. I find this kind of play very rewarding! I d…

I'm looking to buy a Lego set for girls that are 6-8 years old. One of them has a lot of Friends and some Disney princess sets, as well as tubs with her dad's old Lego to play with. The other has only Friends sets but would like different themed sets. What set do you think would be fun for a girl at that age that isn't Friends or Disney? I'm looking for something that might have a female minifigure in the set, maybe treasure, a castle, cool building or something. All the Castle sets have exclusively male minifigures, which is disappointing to me because I love Castle sets and I think they would too. Cloud Cuckoo Palace is the best I've thought of, but one of the gir…

So the gf just got accepted into a Master's program and we only have one laptop in the house, the one I use nearly everyday for my online Bachelor's classes. We haven't bought a computer in about 4-5 years, and don't have alot of experience on what is good to buy. I'm hoping a guru around here could provide suggestions. Here's the specifics to narrow it down a bit: -Don't want to spend more than 400 -Needs to have ability to run windows, MS office, multiple web browsers -Don't need any kind of advanced graphics card -Don't necessarily need disc drive, but need minimum of 300 GB for power point presentations, photos, large PDF files -Itunes wi…

  17. Hey guys/gals, We took some photos of my son when he was 2 weeks old (now 9 weeks) and entered him into a contest. I was hoping I could get some help voting from the BP community. I would be eternally grateful! Here's the link: http://www.parents.com/photos/cutekid/2013-04-22/x9zs?esrc=nwphotofaves3 Also, if you want to go the extra mile, feel free to share on Facebook when you're done ;-). It gives you an easy link to do so when you vote! Thanks guys, it would mean a lot to his college fund this early in the game! Regards, Cody EDIT: figured I would share his name at least. Benjamin James Lewis. Thanks everyone! 2nd EDIT: the answer to vote is "…

  18. My most recent article has pictures that I saved from an auction showing a UCS set in a state of disrepair. I was unable to recover several other auctions that had other UCS or Modular sets in greater disrepair. If anyone has pictures of one of the "big sets" in a bulk lot auction, I would love to have them. Unfortunately I wasn't really saving these before, because I didn't win the auctions, but now I have a distinctive need for them. Very specifically, I know that there was an auction for a Death Star II and another for a Vader's TIE Advanced that were largely disassembled in the past few months, but the auction listings have purged the pictures. Anything else would be …

I just got a samsung smart tv for my room. I think I have everything setup correctly but I am not getting any channels to work. I have comcast and one of those digital receivers they sell you to get their signal. This particular tv is not connected to the main big cable box. Here is my setup: I have the coaxial cable from the wall plugged into the digital adapter then I have another cord from the digital adapter to the tv coaxial input. When I scan the channels I only get one. Using the remote to change channels, I just get static. The channel that works is set to channel 3 but it isn't really channel three. Do I have to setup the remote a special w…

Hi everyone! I am attending school to get my Master's in Education. Currently, I have a project to interview a parent or a sibling of a special education student (they don't need to still be a studnet). I was wondering if there were any fellow brickpickers that would be able to help me out on this. We could do it via phone or email, whatever is most convenient. Also, I can give you a little background on myself and my class first, if you like. Thank you!
